Sponge rollers!

My mom brought these yellow sponge rollers from her house (the same ones Blakeley and I used growing up for dance recitals--and just for fun!). CeCe has always been great at letting me play with and fix her hair but I really didn't think she would sit for long enough to have all of her hair put in rollers, but she did! She LOVED it actually! Bryce had to see what it was all about, but he is my tender-headed one and didn't like Cappy pulling on his hair. We left CeCe's hair up in the rollers for about 3 hours and voila.....!!! Hilarious isn't it?? She is asking to do them again so I guess we will be keeping the yellow sponge rollers here!

Water balloons and Mix Mix

I have no idea why the format is so weird today! I've tried doing this 3 times and each time it does this!
Cappy brought some balloons with her and we've played with water balloons twice this week. Bryce loves them, CeCe is soso about them. Bryce loves to throw them up really high and watch them pop! He also tries to pop them on his head sometimes! CeCe got into it today by rolling them down the slide and watching them pop at the bottom.

Now onto the Mix Mix.....one afternoon while Bryce was at my parents house around Memorial Day CeCe and I went to Dollar Tree and spent $4. We bought some funnels, measuring cups, measuring spoons and a 6 pack of small cups. That has been THE BEST $4 I've ever spent! She has spent hours playing in big bowls of water with her cups and spoons. She has named it Mix Mix and wants to mix mix every day, multiple times a day! She gets so into it and moves water from cup to cup, lines the cups up, moves water from her bowl into her cups with the spoons, makes 'bubble juice' and cupcakes, and her latest is filling up Cappy's empty coke bottles. She has such a steady hand and hardly ever spills water. It is so funny to watch her concentration!

Today we went out to mix mix again but this time all 3 of her baby dolls had to come with us. 2 have cloth bodies but one, baby Sally, put on her bathing suit and mixed along with CeCe. It was so sweet to watch her fill up cups and put them in front of Sally so she could play too! That last picture of Bryce is from today too.....he and Cappy were playing catch with water balloons!

Birthday Party Time!

CeCe's birthday is not until July 3rd but we celebrated a week early with her best friend Kate. Kate turned 2 on June 13 so Kelly and I planned a joint party at Gymboree for this past Saturday, the 25th. A lot of the playgroup moms and kids came which was so fun, and we also had 2 non-playgroup friends each come too. Cappy, Kiki, Papaw Duke, and Aunt Sandra all drove to Pensacola for CeCe's special day! Thank you to everyone who came and made their day so much fun!!

These girls are the best of friends. Kate, thank you for being such a special friend to my baby girl!
CeCe's one request for the party....pink cupcakes!
Birthday Girl Kate
And Birthday Girl CeCe (Kate's mom Kelly made these shirts, aren't they the cutest?!)
CeCe loved playing at Gymboree with all of her friends.
Bryce had fun too! Emmy's brother Trenten came along and Bryce was so happy to have a big boy to play with!
Rolling balls down the slide together
We saw this face a lot during the party!
Love you Aunt Sandra
Playing maracas
Ready to blow out the candles
And tear into the pink cupcakes!
We let her open her present from Aunt Sandra before she left (they opened all their other gifts at home after the party)
Happy Birthday sweet girls!! I'm so glad y'all were able to share this special day with each other!

Water fun

It has been so hot here lately that the only way we can enjoy ourselves outside in the afternoons is to get wet! We've been rotating between the little pool/slide combo, sprinkler, mixing bowls full of water and water hose/water table combo. Yesterday CeCe wanted to play with the water table so they stripped down (never leaving the backyard in just underoos!) and played away!

What are you about to do Bryce? Psyching himself up....
Ready
AAAAHHHH!
CeCe thought it was hysterical!
She loves playing in water. We have a bag with mixing spoons and cups and she loves to 'mix'. I'll have to do a separate post about CeCe and her 'mixing'!
Concentrating hard at moving the water between cups

Kiki, Papaw Duke and Tennis

Kiki and Papaw Duke came in town this weekend! We always have fun when they are here! Last night we had our usual dinner outing....The Fish House! It is one of the best restaurants in Pensacola and definitely Kiki and Papaw Duke's favorite. We love having an excuse to eat there!

Bryce wanted to take them to the tennis courts and show them how much he has learned from lessons (he's been taking lessons for about 3 weeks now and LOVES it!) It was super hot out there so we didn't last too long but we all enjoyed watching him and Anthony play for a while.
He's got his own cheerleader...she says "Go Bryce Go" and "Bryce hit the ball" over and over!
So happy to be out there playing!
A little hot and bored by the end!
I'm so proud of Bryce for trying so hard at tennis lessons. Most of the other kids come and sit and take breaks during the hour lesson but he never stops running and trying. I think he could be pretty good at this if he keeps it up!

Beach time

We decided to hit the beach one morning when Blakeley, Cappy and the J boys were here. Our friend Kelly and her daughter Kate met us out there. It was so fun seeing Jude and Jasper playing in the sand and waves. They both loved it! Bryce and CeCe love the beach again this year. We are so lucky to have the beach so close (30 mins) and that our kids LOVE it so much!

Picnic lunch

Blakeley and Jude
Cappy and Jasper
Jude swimming
Bryce splashing in the waves
CeCe talks about going 'splash splash' in the water all the time!
She also loves to 'cook' with the sand and water. Cookies and cupcakes are her specialties.
My fish!

Thursday we took the kids to a park by a bay that is shaded so it wasn't too hot and miserable. We dressed them in their matching flag shirts so of course we had to take pictures. They weren't too into the photo shoot, imagine that! After we ate lunch at the park we hit the splash pad. Blakeley took her camera that day so hopefully she will post some pics on her blog. The kids all had fun there too!

For Kiki

Tubing!!!

Everyone except Jasper (yes, even my parents!) had a turn or two (or 30-BRYCE) on the tube last weekend!
