Ferris Wheel

Bryce has been asking to ride the ferris wheel in Orange Beach for a while now. We took him over there about 6 months ago and he changed his mind when we got there. We went back Monday and he rode it and LOVED it! I'm so excited because we are going to Disney World in December and I was scared he wouldn't want to try any of the rides. Now I think we can remind him how much he loved the ferris wheel and he will try the rides!

CeCe enjoyed the ride too!
CeCe didn't think much of tummy time....she fell asleep as soon as we laid her down!

Bryce is home!! He spent a week with Cappy and Papaw Ruff in Olive Branch and had a blast, but Anthony and I are so glad he is home! My parents brought him home Saturday and my dad is staying until tomorrow and Cappy will be here until next week!! We have had fun the last few days with them. Anthony's sister Tracy, her husband Dave and their son Daniel were here Fri.-Sun. and it was great to spend time with them. Bryce and Daniel had a lot of fun playing Saturday and they all went to the beach Sunday morning and had a good time there too. The two cousins were sad to have to say goodbye to each other. Here are some pictures from the last week....

2 week checkup and Space Day

CeCe had her two week check up yesterday and got a great report from the Dr. She now weighs 7lbs. 15oz and has grown 2 inches! She continues to amaze us at how mellow and easy going she is. Bryce is still in love with her. He wants her around him all the time, which is awesome for us! He is heading to Olive Branch to spend the week with my parents starting tomorrow. We will miss him so much, but I know he is very excited to spend time up there with them. He always has a blast.

The Naval Aviation Museum (a must see for anyone visiting Pensacola) had a special exhibit today for kids. It was about space so we had to go!

Trying on a real helmet!

CeCe enjoyed her first trip to the museum!
I love this one of CeCe and Reagan, best friends already!

New bathtime routine

Bathtime at our house used to be one of my favorite times. Daddy and Bryce would go off into the bathroom and Mama got to sit down after dinner and veg in front of the TV. I could hear them giggling and having the best time, but I honestly enjoyed my quiet time so much!! Bryce has been begging to take a bath with his baby sister and since her cord fell off yesterday, we decided it was time for her to have a good tub bath. Of course when Bryce was a baby we bought the biggest baby tub made and it will barely fit in our bathtub, much less leave room for a 3 year old. He was crushed so we compromised by putting CeCe's tub on the floor next to him during his bath. He loved it. I can tell this will be our new bathtime routine around here, and I couldn't be happier!!! CeCe enjoyed her bath! She got a little chilly, so I need to go a little faster next time. She smells so good now!! Cozy in her gown after bath

One week old!

CeCe is one week old today! She was finally cleared from the Dr. for her jaundice yesterday so we all had a great night's sleep for the first time in a week. It was great! Bryce, Cappy, CeCe and I went to Foley to the outlet mall yesterday and spent over 3 hours there! We got tons of stuff for her and now her closet looks like it should :) Last night we gave Bryce his big brother present from Mama, Daddy and CeCe and he loved it. He has been so amazing since CeCe came home. He is the best big brother. I knew he would be though! Here are some pictures....

Day 5

Day 5 started out with another jaundice test.....her levels are OK, but we have to repeat the test again tomorrow. UGH! I'm ready for some sleep! She wants to sleep, but we have to keep waking her to eat and then getting to the lab at 6:00am every morning this week is wearing on us. Much better than being in the hospital though, I have to keep reminding myself of that!

After the lab Anthony went to work and my mom, Bryce, CeCe and I went down to Pensacola Beach to watch the Blue Angels practice for their big air show this weekend. It was perfect. Only 2 planes were flying so it wasn't super loud and the crowd wasn't bad at all. The weather was great too. We stayed out and watched for about 30 mins. CeCe slept through the whole thing! Bryce had a great time, but had his hands covering his ears the whole time! When we got home we gave CeCe her first sponge bath at home. She wasn't a big fan of bath time! Sweet thing doesn't cry at all when they prick her heel, but screamed during the bath! Here are some pictures from today.

"Is it going to be loud??"

Jaundice update

CeCe's levels are better today!!! Yay! We were aggressive with her feedings last night and it seems to have worked. We woke her every two hours to nurse, sometimes having to rub a cold wet washcloth on her face to get her to stay awake long enough to eat. I hated having to do that, but it was worth it for her to be getting over this. Dr. Page wants another day of us feeding like this and for us to take her in bright and early tomorrow for another heel prick. Hopefully if that # is good, we can put all of this behind us! She is the best baby. She is so content to do whatever! She LOVES to cuddle though, curled up next to someone is her favorite place to be. Bryce has been amazing. When he woke up this morning my mom said he was upset because his baby sister wasn't there. He loves that she sits in the backseat with him on car rides and he was so excited to introduce her to our pediatrician (Dr. Page) yesterday.

Jaundice

Well CeCe has the curse....my mom had it bad, I had it bad, Bryce had it and now CeCe does. She is VERY yellow. We had to take her in today to have her levels checked and they had increased a good bit. Hospitalization was talked about today, but we are going to be very aggressive this afternoon and tonight feeding every 2 hrs. and hopefully we can flush it out of her system. Anthony and I will take her in at 6:00am to have her heel pricked again and they will call her pediatrician as soon as they get the results. We will go from there. If the levels have increased yet again, we might be admitted to the Children's Hospital here. If we can find a bili blanket to rent we will get one that we could use at home (they tried to find us one today, but there are none to be had in Pensacola right now). Of course we are having our first cloudy/rainy days in about a month right now so we can't do the sunlight thing. I think her levels are too bad for sunlight to fix though! Please pray that we can solve this thing tonight. It will be a very long rough night having to wake her and keep her awake enough to eat, but way better than the hospital would be! I'll update tomorrow once Dr. Page calls me. Other than the jaundice she is doing amazing by the way!!

Home Sweet Home

We are home from the hospital!! CeCe is settling right in at home, she and Anthony have been snoozing in the recliner for 2 hours! Bryce was super excited to have us at home when he woke up from his nap this afternoon. I'm looking forward to getting settled in at home. I'm feeling pretty good, much better than right after Bryce's birth. CeCe is jaundiced so we have to take her to the lab early tomorrow to get her levels checked. Then we go to her pediatrician either tomorrow or the next day. Motherhood is calling....gotta go feed CeCe. I'll update later this week! Here are some pictures......

We have a......

GIRL!!!! Catherine Carole "CeCe" Duke was born today July 3 at 1:15 pm. She is PERFECT! And we have all fallen hopelessly in love with her. She weighs 7lbs. 8.5 oz and we are waiting to hear her length. She is in the nursery now and I'm dying to hold her again. She is nursing like a pro already. We will post pictures when we get home. She has been in the world for only 3 hours and we already have over 100 pictures of her! CeCe has darker hair than Bryce but looks alot like him. Bryce has been an amazing big brother and was very upset when they had to take 'his' baby to the nursery earlier. My labor started off slow but once it picked up, boy it went fast! I'm doing great right now and am looking forward to getting home, probably on Sunday.
