Who needs sleep on the second school night of the new year? Not my kids I hope! We went to the Kane County Cougars Minor League baseball game last night. We stayed til the end so the kids could run the bases after the game. I will spare you the blurry mess that came out of those pictures. Devon taking a rest after several attempts at a diving catch for the camera. The following is all we got from our efforts. I need a faster camera and someone else to throw the ball while I take the pictures.

Last Zoo Visit of the Summer
We hit the zoo one last time before school starts. The picture with the dolphin shows Chelsea tapping my bracelet on the windowsill to get the dolphins to come close. It worked every time. The boys tried to get the kids who were feeding the goats to feed them through the fence too. The other kids just looked at them like they were crazy.

Happy June Birthday Carter (in August)
Carter finally got his birthday party at the lake! He turned ten in June, but we didn't have time during baseball season to squeeze in a party. It turned out to be a perfect day and the boys (and girls) had the best time. Thanks to Uncle Scott for giving up his time to drive the boat and give the kids great tube rides.

Lauren and Lindsey (and the rest of us)
Lauren's friend from Louisville, Lindsey, came to Chicago for the weekend. Her mom and I planned a "coincidental" meeting at the aquarium. The girls had no clue. We actually had to say, "who is that next to you?" after trying unsuccessfully to have them see eachother without us saying anything. It was definitely an unexpected and fun surprise! The visit at the aquarium wasn't quite enough so Lindsey came to our house to spend the night before heading back to Louisville the next day. We rode bikes to the park.
Chelsea got sweaty and sandy.
Lauren even had sand sticking to her forehead it was so humid and gross outside. (anyone else want to come visit?)
No, we did not make Lindsey pull weeds. Chelsea helped weed the front yard and this is what she found.
