Baby Isaac - Sneek Peek

We had our 4-D Ultrasound yesterday and got a little glimpse of our little precious one! It was so fun to get to see his little face. He really looks a lot like Caleb did in the womb which surprised me. I was really thinking he would look totally different. It will be fun to have to little guys who favor each other though. Of course he may come out looking a lot different than our impression from these photos though:) Here are a few of Isaac and the last one is of Caleb around the same gestational age so you can compare for yourself! We can't wait for Isaac to be here!! Caleb calls him "Iga" and kept pointing at the 4-D screen saying "Iga, Iga!" He wanted to hold his pictures and cried when I took them away (he was bending them). We've been praying the transition of moving and getting a new baby brother will go smoothly for Caleb. It's a lot for a litte guy to handle!

We leave for Little Rock August 15th! It's coming up so fast and we still feel like we have a lot to do here. We've decided to go ahead and purchase a home there instead of renting which has added a little more stress. God has been so good to us though and we really feel his leading in this whole process.

Big News...

I think that a majority of people who read this already know our news, but for anyone who doesn't, this is for you. We found out this week that we will be moving back to Little Rock by Sept 1. Brent is being relocated with his job at Union Pacific. We will have been in Tucson for 2 years this July/August. God has really blessed our time here, especially coming here without knowing a soul and having a new baby! We've really enjoyed the friendships we've made and the church we became a part of. We are really excited though to get to be moving closer to family and friends. It's about time Caleb gets aquainted with green grass! It will also be nice to have family near by when Isaac gets here. It's like "de ja vu" moving a month before I deliver again...I'm getting used to moving big pregnant. We looking forward to this new adventure in our lives!! Say a little prayer for our family!

Trip to LR

So I'm a little late in posting these pictures...as usual. I've really been a slacker lately on my posting. Hopefully, I'll get better soon! Brent, Caleb and I took a week long trip to Little Rock and spent a good part of that week in Mt. View at my parents' cabin. We had a great time! My brothers and their wives came up for a few days at the beginning of the week. It was SO great to get to spend time with everyone...we're rarely all together these days. I'm bummed that I didn't get pictures of everyone. I always bring my camera and never take many pictures :(

Grandma and Grandpa Goad were able to spend the week there with us as well. It was great to get to spend some time with them!

Caleb and Daddy in the pool after it FINALLY warmed up!

The few brave souls who chose to swim in the freezing water!

Looks a little scarier from up here than I thought!

Caleb in his little swimming getup...He's probably going to kill me for these pictures later:)

A view of the pool from the front porch.

Brent chillin' on the front porch

Granna and Caleb taking a turn on the 4-wheeler. Caleb LOVED riding on it!

He loved it so much he thought he'd take it for a spin himself.
Back in LR, we had a cookout with some of our great friends who we miss dearly. It was really weird to be all together with our friends that go back to college days (or further) PLUS all 7 of our little ones running around. It definately changes the dynamics of things!

This is Caleb eating at the big boy table with the Mitchell kids.

Josh and Carter...he and Caleb are just 3 1/2 weeks apart and so cute together!

Little Miss Avery Grace...SUCH a doll!

Our whole crew (minus the Gates:(....miss you guys!)

Me and my college/childhood buddies...aka "the girls". It was SO great to get together again.

Chandler Dale - such a happy little guy!

Caleb and Carter eating their cheerios...they kept eating from each other's piles!
We had a great trip and can't wait to be back soon to see everyone again!
On a pregnancy update...I'm now 23 weeks and feeling pretty good. We had an ultrasound today and Isaac is perfect! Thank you Lord! We are SOOO excited to see our little guy in less than 4 months! I'm already feeling very pregnant and still have a few months to go:( I'm also ready to have this baby and get rid of all this extra weight...blah! It's totally worth every pound though! Continue to keep our family in your prayers. We really working on getting Caleb ready for a new baby brother. He's shown a little jealousy when I hold other babies so we're hoping the transition is smooth and not too tramatic for him. Right now he is the center of the universe...it's probably about time for the focus to shift just a hair!

We were so glad they were able to come out and see us! Caleb loves his grandparents and it was evident on this trip!

On another note we are excited to announce that Caleb will be having a baby brother!!

Isaac Robert is his name. There was definately NO doubt he is in fact a boy and we are thrilled! The Lord is good!

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend as well!!

Our week...

Caleb was really sick this week:( It started out as an upper respiratory infection (which I also had) so Caleb and I stayed home from church last Sunday. The problem when Caleb gets a bad cold is that it really flares his asthma up. So Monday, he wasn't better so I stayed home with him. Tuesday, he still wasn't better, but I needed to make up my day so I went in and Brent stayed home with him. Wednesday...still not better (fourth night of spiking a fever) and his asthma was getting hard to control so I took him in to see his pedatrician. He ended up having a double ear infection and a bad respiratory infection. He got some antibiotics and oral steroids for his breathing. He is finally doing better...but even today is still REALLY crabby. So, we all went to church today, and after a week of staying in the house (yuck!) we got out and went to the park. Here are a few pictures from this week.

29 Things....

Today I turned 29 years old....my last year in my twenties. Man is that weird. It is SOOO true that your life seems to go faster the older you get. Really my freshman year at Harding doesn't seem that long ago, but it's been 11 years! I have so many things to be thankful for in my life so I thought I'd list 29 things I'm thankful for in honor of my 29th year....here goes:

1. My amazing and wonderful husband that I love more now even than on our wedding day!
2. My beautiful baby boy, who gives me more joy than I ever thought possible
3. Parents who raised me to know Jesus
4. Brothers who are successful, happy, and love the Lord.
5. Sister-in-laws that are awesome!
6. A roof over my head and a warm (king-size:) bed to sleep in at night
7. Diet coke
8. 80 degree weather in February!
9. My job...I LOVE being a nurse!
10. Old friends (I feel so blessed to have solid group of girlfriends, some of which that go as far back as my toddler years!)
11. New friends (God has blessed us in every new place we've been to find some really special people to get to know)
12. Chocolate chip, chocolate ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins!
13. Red Lobster (Lobster tail, crab legs, shrimp scampi...I ate all of this tonight!)
14. The Word of God (cheezy but SOOO true)
15. A good relationship with my in-laws
16. Chocolate
17. Morning walks with other moms
18. A good church home where we feel we can be used
19. A good neighbor who watches our beloved great-dane Samson whenever we go out of town (seriously...she lets him sleep in her bedroom!!)
20. Airplanes....so we can travel the LONG distance to go back home to visit
21. Union Pacific Railroad....that employs my husband with a job he loves
22. Caleb's laugh
23. Johnson's lavender scent baby lotion....I STILL put it on my 18-month old!
24. The blessing of having been able to travel to so many wonderful places these past 29 years (Canada, Mexico, Haiti, Nigeria, Uganda, Italy, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Austria, Germany, UAE, Afghanistan and not to mention some wonderful places in the US)
25. Digital cameras
26. Web cam
27. Computers in general....although I spend way too much time on them!
28. Sleeping in on Saturday mornings....oh wait, I can't do that anymore:)
29. Last but certainly not least...our newest blessing, Baby Smith #2 due to arrive October 4th, 2009. (GOD IS GOOD!)

The Grand Canyon

We took an impromptu trip to the Grand Canyon this weekend and had a blast! It was Caleb's first long car ride (over 2 hours....it took us 6) and he really did great. In fact, he did great the whole trip (especially after saying a few prayers:) Brent took a half day on Friday and we spent Friday and Saturday night up there. On Sunday we took the scenic route back through Sedona and had lunch and shopped there a little. It really was a fun weekend! Here are some pictures of our trip.
