We had out first official Troop meeting last week and the girls all seemed to enjoy themselves with the fun-filled gathering. In addition to learning the Brownie Pledge, handshake, and songs they girls earned their first Try-It patch and received their Girls Scout pins.
For their first patch, they sewed" their sit-upon mats and roasted marshmellows for smores; the girls can bring their mats to all future meetings and any campouts that we may have. The sewing was slow going at first but they picked it up fairly quickly. And of course they needed no guidance on how to roast a marshmellow or ask for seconds!
December should be fun with our second meeting and the upcoming Holiday Parade.
