I'm a little lost

It has been a while since I have last posted, so it seems I have been a little lost in Bloglandia. I have enjoyed wandering through your posts the last few months, but haven't been able to stop and pass the time. Every time I go to put finger to keyboard I haven't been able to put words together for an intelligible post. Really..I have several posts in draft mode on Blogger, but none are publish worthy....sigh.  I have been able to put weekly blog parties up for Etsy Cottage Style HERE
Things have just not been right here at Brown Gingham Cabin...I haven't been able to put it in words. I have just been goin with the flow and it feels like a tidal wave.

The unimaginable and worst has happened...........................................

This is Princess Leah, at the end of Spring she just wasn't herself, by the time we realized it was bad she was at the Vet having her Anal Gland, which had become infected, removed. After several weeks she healed and is back to her feisty self.
Now the worst....................................................
This is Toby

At the beginning of Summer Mom and Dad's Norwegian Elkhound, Toby, developed Congestive Heart Failure. After weeks around the clock care and love..they lost Toby to a heart attack....
Okay I thought I could do this , but seems I can't. I'll have to pop back later. Sorry

Where's Spring?

It has been snowy....icy.....freezing.....cloudy,,,icky here...with an occasional cloudy/rainy 50* day,
but Spring isn't far away............

Krohn Conservatory is bloomin all over in The Enchanted Spring Forest

This is a magical place.  Bird songs, instrumental music, trickling water along with fragrant flowers and Fairie houses transport those who enter into an enchanted woodland. wonderland. This would be perfect, and easy, to recreate in a home garden setting.  It could even be done in a raised bed or container...changing
plants seasonally! You could even translate this into a tablescape for an indoor garden party even adding music and bird songs adding to the ambiance.. The inspiration is endless.

January 13th already!
Happy New Year to all my Blogpals in Bloglandia

Christmas was so nice. The decorations were up....opening ornaments is like seeing old friends.............

1940's aluminum reflector tree topper

Jim's Grandma's vintage Viking Glass filled with some of my Grandma's  vintage glass balls and beads

1950-60 glass ball with Winter Covered Bridge scene

1950-60 glass ball with Santa and Toys motif

1940's plastic ornament. It has an aluminum propeller with open top and bottom.
When close to light the heat makes the propeller spin.

Christmas Day we hit the road to family members houses, but first we open presents..........................

Shadow opens his stocking and his Kittencaboodle does too.

Leo eyes the gift before the rest attack.....

After everything is opened everyone needs a catnap.

Week between Christmas and New Years we visit our fav  holiday places.........................................

Cincinnati Zoo - Festival of Lights 2009
Cincinnati Zoo Festival of lights

Taft Museum Christmas of the Past

Entertrainment with it's various train  set ups with miles of track.

and, then to Krohn Conservatory for it's holiday flower display. We especially love the huge revolving cityscape with it's own trains. Cincinnati was a large train hub til the 70's.
Now the Holidays are over. All the decorations are once again stored. It's time to bundle up snug and hibernate till Spring. Ha.....there's lots of things to do to brighten the winter days.............................
