Thanksgiving in Pendleton, Oregon

YEE-HAW Grand-paw!!

Ivan is no respector of persons (or animals) when it comes to giving kisses. We'll have to work on that.

Who is chasing who?

Can you tell that they come from the same gene pool?

It took four generations to finally get a good looking child!!

Wake Up Uncle Clinty!!!

Ivan loved playing at Tyrel's Aunt Tami's house on Thanksgiving. Between Opie (the dog), the rocking horse, and the piano, he was pretty happy!

We had a very nice Thanksgiving break this year. We spent Thanksgiving day at Tami and Ted's in Pendleton and we were able to spend a little bit of time with other family members. It was good to see all of our grandparents, some extended family, and friends too. Its always a little crazy when we are home for such a short time, but definitely worth it when we get to see everyone. Maybe if we hadn't spent so much time shopping, we would have had a little more time to spend with our loved ones?!? Oh well, maybe we'll do better next year.

Just a few new photos

One of Ty's old companions, Nick Marshall, started crocheting Ivan a blanket as soon as he found out we were pregnant, and we just recently got it in the mail. It definitely didn't take long for Ivan to warm up to his new cuddly blanket.

I was sharing my a piece of pie with Ivan the other day, and when I came back from answering the door (I was gone a total of like 30 seconds) this was all that was left of my pie. Pie Thief!

"Ivan, Look---there is another dinosaur that looks just like you in the mirror. You had better claim your territory!" ROOOOAAAAAARRRRR!!!!

Yellowstone National Park

This was a while ago, but I never posted anything about it. Randy's family came to see us the weekend before Garret's birthaday, and we decided on a whim to go to Yellowstone. It was a beautiful day, and a nice drive up there. The boys got to see some wildlife and the Old Faithful geyser. It was a great weekend, I'm glad Garret had a birthday so we could get together!
There she blows! Old Faithful, Yellowstone National Park (Oct. 28, 2007) We got there 3 minutes before the geyser errupted. I'm sure we could've stuck around to see it later, but it was nice to not have to wait!
You wouldn't know it, but this is the most exciting thing the Gasaway family has ever seen.

Super Garret

Ivan really wanted to take a bath in the warm water, but Ty wouldn't let him.
This was one of the first things we saw when we drove into the park. The boys were super excited to see the elk.

"In"

We frequently witness this type of behavior. He'll take all of his blocks out and put them back in, or pulls all of his shoes out and puts them back in. Not sure where he got his organization skills, but I like them!

Dearest Santa

I hate to bother you because I'm sure you're quite busy getting all of my husband's Christmas gifts ready, but I do have one little tinsy winsy Christmas wish this year. I'd really like a new vacuum. That might be a selfish request especially after my husband was so good to only as for a few necessities to take care of our family, but I've always known that he's been better than me. Thanks Santa...I hope this year's present sucks!!! (get it? vacuum's suck!?)

Ho!Ho!Ho!

Just trying to help the Jolly Old Man :)

Dear Santa,
I have been a very good boy this year and am just giving a few suggestions in case you need some help.
  • Nintendo DS
  • Pokemon Pearl for the DS
  • Heroscape expansion packs: large or small I'm not picky:)
  • Marvelscape Master Set
  • All three Spiderman Movies
  • Heroquest (an out of print board game)
  • Neopreme gloves for duck hunting
  • Hand gun of larger caliber
  • Godzilla Unleashed for the Wii
  • Smash Brothers Brawl for the Wii
  • Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii
  • A new bookshelf
  • Black Slacks 34X32
  • Brown dress socks
  • Carhart winter coat
  • recordable VCR/DVD combo
  • The Office Seasons (1 and 3)
  • Ties
  • Gong type target for .22
  • New computer
  • Laser Printer
  • Pokemon Seasons on DVD (I was kinda thinking of my son for this one, something we could enjoy together.)
  • Jogging stroller/Bike trailer combo
  • Finally if you dont have a lot of space in your overstuffed bag, money will be just fine.

Santa I know it's not a really big list but I don't have a lot of things that I want.......only a few necessities to help my family stay comfortable and happy.

With Christmas wishes,
One really good boy,
Tyrel Ivan Brown--Not to be confused with Tyrell Brown.

P.S. There will be cookies at my place with some whole milk.
P.P.S. We don't have a chimney but we will leave the slidding glass window unlocked.

Tender Heart

We've decided that Ivan is just a little Tender Heart. We really need to get creative in the ways we attempt to stop a behavior or discipline him, because his little heart breaks every time we say no or even look at him cross. He literally beats himself up if he thinks he's in trouble. I don't know where he learned this, but he hits himself on the forehead when we tell him to stop doing something (now that I think about it, I think it must have stemmed from his glasses--when he'd try to take them off, we'd say No and put them back on him). Anyways, I think he will be the type that when he gets bigger and we say, "I'm dissapointed in you" that will be a huge punishment. Things could change but if they keep going the way they are, I wouldn't be surprised if that is what happens.
Nothing too exciting to report, except that Ivan's got a new tooth coming in and he's saying a few more words like "up, go, hot, milk, book, and la".
