1 hectic week after another

Maybe I am so used to working half day now... last week's team bonding event plus another 2 days of full-day course left me feeling so tired and I do not get to spend as much time as I usually do with Ryan. Next week's schedule will be equally tight as I have to attend a 2-day workplan retreat and another 2 days of full-day course.

I missed my little boy especially during the afternoon session of the training last week. I will look at my watch and wondered what he was doing at that time. This never happened before I started on my part-time work arrangement. The little boy missed me a lot too and he kept holding my hands during the evening when I went to pick him from my mum's and during car rides when we went out this weekend. Even my sis-in-law commented that he was 'sticky' when we were over at their place this afternoon.

I only managed to complete 1 layout from my Sketchbook 2 class this week:

LO - Look who has turned 3

Although we had celebrated Ryan's birthday with both sides of the family prior to his birthday, Wilson bought a mini cake on his actual birthday and the 3 of us had a mini celebration again during the evening. Used the 'Togetherness' papers from cosmo cricket and adapted from the #10 sketch from the Sketchbook 2 class.

The class has ended this week and I must say I have thoroughly enjoyed the class and the sketches. Although out of the 12 sketches, I have only managed to complete 8 on time but I will definitely complete the remaining 4 during the next few weeks. Hopefully, I will have more time after the exam markings are over to complete them.

It never fails to brighten up my Monday...

... when I see my layout being featured as one of the layouts of the week on the MWL blog page!

Thank you, MWL, for featuring my 'Like father like son' layout.

KP Sketchbook 2 #7 & 9

Here's my take for #7:

LO - Oh boy!
Documented his obsession with Thomas the train... most of the photos which we took that afternoon had him looking at his cake!

I am still stuck with #8 so sharing my #9 first:

LO - Jigsaw puzzle fan

Re-discovered my jigsaw puzzle die which I bought last year but never got down to using it. Managed to dig out some old photos (from last year) so that I get to use the die.

I am looking forward to sketch #10 tomorrow night. Time really flies and this is gonna be the last week of the class. Have enjoyed the class so far... Le the truth be told... I have never scrapped so much... heehee...

KP Sketchbook 2 #6

Based on the #6 sketch from the class:

LO - Like father like son
A photo taken during our nature walk at Dairy Farm last Sat. See the plastic smile and silly face I have been getting recently from the 2 guys.
Used my MME Lost & Found papers, together with other stuff from a SC kit. Love how the glitter on the paper adds the extra touch to the page. But the downside of using glitter is that you will end up have glitter everywhere... from your laptop to the floor and even on your kiddo's hair!

Ryan is 3!

Happy Birthday to my little boy!

Time really really flies... He has grown so much... from this little thing 3 years ago...

... to a little boy with a mind of his own!

We did another round of celebration last Sun with Wilson's side of the family. We just had to order a cake with his favourite character. Well, he is not the only one who loves Thomas. Cousin R is also another Thomas fan. The 2 little boys were staring at the cake for a really long time... and they have to turn the cake to face them properly! They did not comprise on the angle of view.

Talking about presents... Lao yi came with a bicycle... oh! How he love it! He had to get onto it even before we removed the plastic protector. See that happy look on him?

In touch with nature

Singapore is such a concrete jungle that kids are not exposed to nature as much as compared to my generation. Although I grew up in HDB flat, weekends then would mean going to the 'kampong house' my late granny stayed and hang around at the field. Now, kids are exposed to electronic gadgets at an early age and most haven't seen a live chicken or monkey. My colleague was just telling me that she drove her nieces and nephews to one of the reserviors the previous weekend just to see monkeys.

Thus, we usually bring Ryan out during the weekends but you don't usually see us in the malls. Instead, we will explore parks and farms so that we get some sun and sweat over the weekends. However, there seems to be so many activities going on at home recently and it didn't help that it rained frequently for the past few weeks. We resumed our 'nature walk' last Sat and went to the Dairy Farm Nature Park again.

The walk from the car park to the Wallace Education Centre was nice and easy but we took quite a long time to reach the centre as our curious boy was busy picking up the stones along the way and examining them before throwing them. Unfortunately, he was biten quite badly by the mosquito and he will squat down to scratch his legs. It was a long time since we last visited a park and forgetful mummy left the insect repellent at home! Oh! We managed to see 2 monkeys on our way back from the centre. Mummy was so thrilled to see them and was frantically snapping away. I think the daddy and mummy was more enthusiastic than
the boy.
Before I go, here's the #5 layout from KP Sketchbook 2 class. I am skipping #4 for the moment as I am still searching for suitable photos.

KP #5 - Beware! Here comes the shark!
Used the new MME range - Alphabet soup. Love the bright colours!
Had lunch at Fish and Co over the National Day weekend and was goofing around while waiting for our food to be served. Decided to include the 'shark' into the layout but realised that I ran out of deactifying spary. I wasn't willing to wait till I purchase a new can before completing the LO so I just went ahead. Opps!

Layouts from KP Sketchbook 2

Here you go... the 3 LOs I have done so far last week.

KP #1 - Buddies
Did you noticed I misted again? After attending Jasmine's misting class last month, I was more confident in misting and I also dug into the Studio Calico kit (mainly from the May Kit - Granny's Cupboard).

KP #2 - Curious
Another LO using SC May kit (except the alphas). Love the lime green paper. Was looking for opportunities to use it the minute I got the kit. More buttons too... think I am in this buttons phase now... Was resisting to add buttons in my 3rd LO.

KP #3 - Limbo Rock Star

Used some not so new October Afternoon paper (Nightlight) and the star was cut from the lace cardstock from KI Memories. Somehow I thought of this series of papers when I was looking at these 2 photos. Ha!

Going off to print some photos for KP #5 and #6 so that I can scrap over the long weekend. It's going to be another long one for me as I am taking a break from work during the first half of next week.

Enjoy your weekend, friends.
