Well here we are again, the McBride family. Fortunately for us we are no longer the fab four, but the feisty five. And as soon as I get my camera up and running I will gladly post the pics of out latest little adventure. Until then...

Okay, so I can't guarantee anything, but I will try and be better about this whole blogging thing, cool? Cool.

Our Grand Adventure

The things I allow myself to get talked into. One of the many was an exciting vacation to the Grand Canyon. I figured since I haven't been since I was a kid, and Pat has never gone why not? Why not?? Because this time we would be seeing it from the donkey's view, only we were the donkey. It all started on a bright October day...but would it end as bright, only time would tell. Thus it was we began our 16-17 mile journey of the magnificent canyon. Included in the caravan were: Patrick and myself, my girlfriend Carolyn and her husband Jack, and his three brothers, Tyler, Trevor and Jacob.
The beginning, look at how bright and naieve we were.

I felt like part of the seven dwarfs going off to work. (I even tried to sing it but that didn't really work).
Still happy!! And look at what such professional hikers we were. Don't you love the hat?
Okay, if this doesn't look like hard work it was a lie. Do you see the sweat mark on Pat's back-eew!! And do not even attempt to hike all day without putting a dab or five of new skin on those working piggies. This was about mile 13, and from here...it was only up.
I swore at one point a helicopter was going to have to lift me out of that canyon. But we made it, and in only nine hours. That right there is the look of pure self satisfaction, we did it, we conquered the canyon!!

I'm it

Apparently I've been tagged!! So I am supposed to write six facts about myself (thanks Carolyn). Man this blogging can be addictive! It's way past my bedtime, but here I go anyway!!

Fact 1-I'm somewhat obsessive (or methodical-as Pat politely puts it). I like things done my way, I don't like to give in when I KNOW I'm right (rarely ever), and when I ask for something to be done I want it done then, not five hours later!!

Fact 2-I've known Pat since Jr. High, where he officially turned me down on our first dance at a youth conference. I randomly picked a poor sucker to dance (girls dare), and low and behold it happened to be Pat. I went up, and tap, tap on the shoulder later, he told me no he didn't know how to dance. We ended up having many encounters throughout our school years in Yuma; but, poor Pat he's still paying for humiliating me all the way back in Jr. High. See, some wounds just never heal. (I guess marrying him was torture enough, huh?).........but no really, we do love each other!!

Fact 3-I broke both of my wrists (yes at the same time) during the tragic tennis accident of '95. (I don't really want to talk about it).

Fact 4-My first dog, a beautiful cocker spaniel was named after my affection for Rainbright...her name was Rainbow.

Fact 5-I love to bake, and what's more importantly, I love to eat what I bake. It all stems from a childhood filled with delicious goodies constantly baked by my loving parents. (Gotta blame someone for these thighs)!!

Fact 6-I love my family, and I love being an LDS member!! Without either of these I don't know where I'd be!

As sad as it is, those are my facts, the good, the bad and the factual. Now if I'd only know someone else to tag...

Happy Halloween!!

The great pumpkin carve of 2007. Can you guess who refused to pull out their own seeds?
Trick or Treat!!
Can I eat my candy now?

The McBeautiful Mom
