James Update

One of the requirements to be deployed if to have all dental work up to date. The reason I can only assume is so your not out there in the middle of a fire fight focusing more on a pain in your mouth than the job to be done. Any way that said James has had to have fairly extensive dental work done. I am going to use the diagram above as a rough idea of what he has had done. On Sunday James had a root canal on a broken tooth. It's up front On the top so I am guessing it is the right lateral incisor. They gave him a temporary replacement for that. On Tuesday he thought he was getting a ton of work done but it turned out to be just a consultation, he was not happy. He scheduled the surgery for Thursday. James was born with 3 wisdom teeth and had already had 2 removed. The diagram below shows (in black) that three wisdom teeth where already gone when we started this process. In dark gray it shows the approx tooth that was removed by root canal. In light gray it shows the teeth removed on Thursday. Yes there where 4! 1 wisdom tooth and 3 cracked mollers. Luckily they allowed James to stay home Thursday night and sleep in and relax some. He went back to training Friday around noon. He is in a considerable amount of pain when not heavily medicated but hopefully he will heal as fast as he woke up from the Anastasia. They told me it would take between 15 and 20 mins for him to wake up enough to leave. it only took him 5. So with any luck he will heal quickly too. I'll keep ya'll updated and kids use James as a lesson..... BRUSH YOUR TEETH!!!!

In the Bowdoin Home this Week

Sorry their won't be any personal pictures for a little while seeing as my computer's charge cord is no longer functioning and I am using other computer's to post. Anyway here's what is going on in the life of the Bowdoin family this week. Baby Bowdoin: This week the baby has a name. Her name will be Brynlee Claire Bowdoin. On Friday March 6th I started to feel like I was carrying more weight than usual. A week later Friday March 13th I took a bath and after getting out she felt uncomfortably low, my lower stomach was stretched tight and it was painful. She was definitely lower than before. After the pain subsided I went to bed. The next morning she seemed to have moved back up. but since then when she moves (which is A LOT!!!!) all the movement is much lower and much more pronounced and a lot easier to feel.
The Move: Okay so as far as the move goes packing is taking longer than I thought it would. My husband isn't the most organized person. So I have several boxes of paper work to go through to make sure nothing important gets thrown away. We are going to end our lease at this apartment at the end of April and I have 3 weeks till I move to AZ. So slowly the house is being boxed and piled in to stuff for storage, stuff to go to Az, and stuff James may need. The house pretty much looks like a disaster area but that is to be expected while packing and cleaning. It's slow going but it's getting there.

Cowgirl: The other night we came home after going out for dinner and found sharp pieces of a pen on the floor. It was obvious Cowgirl had consumed most of the pen. The few pieces that where left when we got home where very sharp, sharp enough that James and I worried that she may have torn up her insides pretty badly. So that night we took her food bowl and emptied it into her food bin. The next morning she was given rice, plain white rice. Cowgirl did not like this idea. That night James added a little cheese to the rice. The next day we added cooked chicken to the rice, she liked this a lot better. She has now been on the rice and chicken diet for a little while and really likes this idea but tonight she returns to dog food... we'll see how well that goes over. lol

James: Yesterday James started his training in Santa Fe. So far he has been able to go back and forth between there and home. That will change off and on over the next 3 weeks but he anticipates being home for Easter weekend. I love James so much. He is and amazing man and will be the most amazing Father. He already loves Brynlee so much and I know it is tearing him up to have to be away from her and I for so long. He knows we will be well taken care of and we are taking other steps as well so he will worry less while he is away. I know he worries already but I am hoping that this will be a smooth transition over the next few months so that both James and I can be a little more comfortable with the idea of being apart.

Haha I actually won one! I love ya Kacie and I'll love anything you make! Dr. and Moving Update

Well went to the Dr. again today and all my blood work came back fine only the Dr. said I was a little anemic so he put me on an iron supplement that I am to take once a day with my pre-natal and an orange or vitamin C pill. Other than that I was weighed and measured and everything was fine. We listened to the baby's heart which is starting to slow down just a little. The Dr. said that this was normal and by the time the baby is born it should slow down even more.

Moving: Yeah lets just say we have 3 days left and are about 1/4 the way done. On top of the packing/storing of the house, packing for James leaving, and packing for the stuff that will go to AZ with me, we also just received a list of paper work James will need to take with him Sat (BTW he has to be an hour away from home at the meeting place at 7 AM!!!!) that we don't have put together so we will need to visit Kinko's and the unit to get all this together. Must love the military! Every thing's last min! Though my Hero of a Hubby assures me that everything WILL get done in time! So here's hoping! lol I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed!

Cutest Oneies Ever!

Okay So I was going through all the clothes in the closet separating into piles. You know, What to put in storage, what to keep out, what to donate to the thrift store, etc. While going through James' clothes I found an old torn up shirt with "BOWDOIN" written across the front. Well I knew that there was a Bowdoin College some where out east. James was very sad to see that this, one of his favorite shirts, had been torn up. So when I got on the computer he asked me to google "Bowdoin Bookstore" this took me to the Bowdoin College Bookstore. Here not only did we find a few nice shirts and hats with "Bowdoin" written on them but LOOK AT THESE!!!! Are they not the cutest onesies you have ever seen!?!?! Bowdoin College's mascot, just so you know, is the Polar Bear. The first onesie says "Bowdoin" and has little bear prints all over it. The second I think is visible enough lol. Not only are these cute, and have our last name on them, but I call James "Teddy Bear" and he calls me "Baby Bear" and because of a picture I saw recently on myspace Cowgirl has become our "Teddy Woof" So the polar bear prints and our last name is just too fitting and too cute!

Road Trip to Az

On Monday we loaded Dally (the horse) in the trailer, the dog and us in the car and headed to Lakeside. Dally was dropped off at his new home and settled in right away. Tuesday we spent ALL DAY looking for a place to rent for me, cowgirl, and the baby while James is away. We found 2 places we liked but nothing absolutely perfect. James and I where ready to settle on one of the places but mom said it was too far away and she made some phone calls. So I took down a few numbers from her and called the next morning. Wednesday we ended up finding a 2 bed, 1 bath apt, on one floor, with a small backyard, and it'd right down the street from Dallas. It's perfect! A little more than I wanted to spend but everything else is perfect so we went ahead and signed the lease. I can't wait to move in!The layout of the apartment: not exact and deffinitly not to scale

Map from where my place is at to where the horse is!

Another Dr. Appointment

This morning I went and had all my blood work done including the test everyone claims is horrible where you drink the "nasty" "soda syrup" like liquid and then an hour later they draw your blood. To be perfectly honest it wasn't that bad. They gave me the drink as soon as I arrived and it tasted to me like watered down soda or watered down juice. An hour later they called me back, took 4 vials of blood for not just the glucose test but all my pre-natal blood work and sent me on my way. I then went straight to my Dr. Appointment. The nurse asked me how I everything was going. I told her all seemed well and that the baby has been VERY active for the last several days, She laughed. She layed me down and measured me. I am measuring at 27 weeks which is good since I am 27 weeks today and we listened to the heart and all is well. I was then sent home. I have a Dr. appointment on the 17th with the actual Dr. and another ultrasound on April 3rd. I also have a Dr. appointment for April 15th in Pinetop with my new Dr. I will keep you all updated as we go along. As far as a name. I am now stuck on Brynlee Claire Bowdoin. But of course that can change I was originally stuck on Alexandrea.

Happy Birthday Hayden!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAYDEN!!!!!!
Hayden is 19 years old today! For the story of his birth go to my mom's blog!

My Heart, My Hero, My Soldier

My Teddy Bear! The man above is my husband. He is my best friend and means more to me than he will ever know. He is a member of the National Guard and stands ready to take up arms and protect our country at any time, in any place. It just so happens that his name has been called to serve this country and will be starting his training soon. I have decided not to post too much about his deployment for now because right now things keep changing. The dates, the places, the missions. I just wanted to take a moment to say how proud I am of this man. I know it's not easy for him to be leaving, especially right now with a baby on the way. I know he wants to be here with me and with our little girl but he has a duty to his country that he has to fulfill and I want him to know that I support him 150%. I love him with all my heart and will miss him so much but I would never take the military away from him it is part of why I love him so much. He is my Hero!

Our Weekend

This weekend was a very busy one! But not necessarily productive. On Friday Cowgirl had an appointment with the groomer for the first time. We went out the door in the morning only to discover that the Jeep had been broken into. They took a few things but I don't understand why they took what they did.... They took the radio face plate which is useless without the rest of the radio. They took the registration (we picked up a new one on the way to the groomer). and the worst thing they took where James' nice Kevlar gloves that he uses for just about everything, we will have to replace those before he deploys. After we did what we could about the Jeep we went to the vet to pick up Cowgirls shot records then took her to the groomer. After dropping her off James and I bought her more food, a new leash and coller, and a new dog tag with new phone number and an AZ address. After that we took those home and then went shopping for 2 birthday gifts. We picked up cowgirl later that afternoon and they had trimmer her and bathed her and she looked so good but the best part was that they put little camo bows in her hair! They where SO CUTE! Even if she did loose one as soon as she came out the door. Doesn't she look good?At 4:30 that evening James and I needed to be at Drill. James unit put on a drill weekend for helping and informing the families of deploying Soldiers. We dropped off Cowgirl to board at Dog world and then got ready to go. Friday we got done at 9 pm and decided to stay at the hotel down town because it was closer to the convention center and our room was already paid for! So after drill on Friday James ran home and got clothes and essentials. On Saturday we got up at 5:30am and spent all day at the convention center going through classes and discussion groups. We got done between 5 and 6 pm. We went back to the hotel cleaned up and got ready to go to our friend Jen's birthday party.
We hung out at the party and ate and had fun for about an hour and a half. Then exhausted we headed back to the hotel and went to bed. On Sunday we once again got up at 5:30 so we could be at the convention center on time. We where there till about 1:30-2 pm finished, went to pick up cowgirl, and went home. Both physically but more so mentally exhausted. It was a weekend of information overload. The problem was that it was not all helpful or useful information. It was like trying to find a handful of jewels spread out through a mountain of information. But now it's over and James and I are working on finishing up all the little things. there are 3 weeks left to finish up everything. Luckily there is a lot to do but it's all pretty simple and we should be able to get it all done without many problems.
