Unicorn for a 4 year old.

The Paper Shelter are our sponsors this week at the Colour Crazy Craft Challenge.
I thought this image would work perfectly for a card for my friend's
little girl, who is turning 4 soon....

I glittered her name and age and the unicorns mane and tail.
The sentiment was done on the computer.
The backing paper was a freebie from a paper pack in a magazine, yonks ago.
I coloured the image with my alcohol markers.

I would like to add this card into the following challenges:
Jo's scrap shack - atg - 20 March
QKR Stampede - atg - 16 March

Babies, babies, babies!

The theme for our challenge at Patties Creations this month, is:
Babies, babies, babies!
I was so pleased to work with the "baby shoes" images...
you get to sets of shoes in the set...

Both cards were made in pretty much the same way...
Spotty and gingham card, inked around the edges.
The shoes were coloured with my promarkers.
I added a tag , on which I will put either a babies name, or maybe the word "welcome."
Hanging from the tag is a little star charm. I forgot I had these,
until I was rooting through some little draws and found them!
I like making cards with many layers and papers on -
especially when you find papers that work really well together - like the ones I used here!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
QKR Stampede - atg - 16 March
Love to craft - atg - 1 April
Scribbles designs - 3 or more layers - 16 March
As you like it - lots of / single ;layer and why - 14 March

This pink card was made in much the same way. This time I added a "frilly"
looking punched border, for a bit of extra girly-ness.
The tag will be used for the little girls name or the word "welcome"
and I added a heart charm to this tag.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Jo's scrap shack - atg - 20 March

Birthday Wishes

Polkadoodles is our sponsor this week, at the Colour Crazy Craft Challenge...
I used the super -cute image, "Winnie Celebrations 1" ...

I love the red / grey combo and decide that would be my colour scheme
for this card.
The patterns papers seemed to work well together
and I die-cut a fancy square to sit my stamped sentiment on.
I coloured the image with my alcohol markers.. and realised that I might need more,
as some are beginning to run out!
Some embosssed lines and edge inking finished off this card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Valentines

Pattie has a new digi stamp in her shop ...
I snaffled this immediately, and used it to make a Valentines day
card for my Hubby.

Straight away, I decided that some of the hearts could be leaves...
so added a few stalks and coloured them (with my alcohol pens) as leaves.
I coloured the red hearts so that they would look chunky,
with a highlight.
The intricate heart inside the wreath, is cut from  die I just bought!
Such a bargain... it only cost £1.50 from The Works.
It cuts like a dream and I couldn't believe it
when it fit perfectly inside the image I had already coloured!
I cut it in the same colour as the card.

The word "love" is actually a beautifully cut piece of wood.
They were a bargain too...I think I got 25 in the pack, for £1!
Wish I could remember where I got them, as I would be tempted to get more.

I didn't want to put too much more onto this card, as it has been made for my hubby
and thought he wont want to too fussy or fancy.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Die cut divas - love is in the air - 1 March
Dies r us - use red - 14 Feb
Love to craft - atg - 1 March

Winter birthdays

As I was wrapping my presents this year,
I fell in love with the pattern on one of my wrapping papers..
ferns, pinecones, mistletoe: winter foliage.

I have a few birthdays to make cards for, in January,
and thought this would make the perfect backing for those cards.

First up: Hubby's Aunt's card...
A lovely friend of mine bought me the
'happy' and 'birthday' as a present.
I matted the paper and embossed a clean line around the edge.
I cut a few fancy corners out with my cuttlebug dies
A couple of punched butterflies and some glossy accents on the berries, finished this card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Crafty sentiments - atg - 16 Jan
Try it on Tuesday - something old, something new, 23 Jan (new word dies)

This next card was made for my sister-in-law.

Made in the same way as the first, but using a different happy birthday die
and a different cuttlebug corner die.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Winter.

For our first challenge of the year
at Patties Creations, we are asking you to fit our colouring theme of :
"Snowy nights / days."

I have used one of Patties amazing digi-stamps, called "Snowman 1".

The little houses background, is actually from a piece of wrapping paper!
I found it in Home Bargains, for the measely sum of 59p for a whole roll! Bargain!
(and... I'm not going to use it to wrap presents! Lol.)
Teamed with the cute digi in the foreground, I think this makes a lovely card.
I coloured the snowman with my promarkers and
ran the swiss dots embossing folder though my bigshot.
The snowflakes are from a cuttlebug die, which I also cut on my bigshot.
The sentiment is one I have had for yonks on my pc.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

2 Christmas cards I forgot to post.

Here are 2 more Christmas cards which I forgot to share with you...

The first is a card which I made for my Husband -
We have lots of birds who visit our garden, and one of our favourites is the robin.

This is a "just ink-lined" image which I have.
I coloured it with my promarkers and fussy cut around the image.
I embossed the background with snowflakes
and added a computer generated sentiment - with a
few die-cut snowflakes here n there.
The brown snowflake paper came from a dovecrafts pack.

This second card, I made for my Grandma...

The brown snowflake paper came from the same dovecrafts pack.
The christingle image was again, from "Just ink-lined"
and coloured with my alcohol markers,
I also used the same snowflake embossing folder.
The sentiment was a peel off...I havent used them in years,
but as I came across it,
I thought it was really traditional and in a lovely font
and my Grandma would like it....
She loved it!

A snow-covered lampost

Patties Creations is challenging us to make a card for
"Winter / Christmas" this month,
so I used the image : snow covered lampost.

I coloured the image with my alcohol markers and fussy cut around it.
I added 2 little bird diecuts, on which I coloured
a little red breast - to become robins.
I added some holly / berry diecuts, stamped the sentiment and the final diecuts were
a church, some stars and a snowy skyline silhouette.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

My first Christmas card this year!

I was so thrilled to receive this cute Christmas image:
"Welcome Christmas" from Crafty Sentiments,
for our challenge at the Colour Crazy challenge.

Before colouring the image, I selected the backing paper.
That helped me to decide on the  colours of the snowman's scarf and earmuffs.
I coloured him with my alcohol markers, made an embossed 'snowy hill',
stamped the sentiment and die-cut an icicle border, to hang from the top of the card.
A few twinkly bits here n there, finished off this card.

A card for a 13 year old girl, please!

A friend asked me to make a card for her daughter,
Millie, who was turning 13 and into make-up!

I chose to try and make it girly, without being too young.
(If you know what I mean!)
I used 2 patterned papers, makeup images, (which I fussy cut!)
diecuts (numbers, letters and the flourish in the corner)
and punches (the butterflies).
A bit of bling here n there, and some glossy accents finished off this card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Girly card

This week, over at the Crazy Colour Challenge blog, I got the delightful image:
"T-shirt soda girl" from Lemon Shortbread...

This is a lovely summery, fresh image, so thought I would keep the papers
in the same theme....fresh, fun, summery colours.
I cut some little pieces of bunting
punched a few butterflies
and inked the edges of all the papers.
I coloured the cute image with my alcohol markers.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Birthday ice-cream

This month., over at Patties Creations, the challenge this time is...
Birthday!

I loved using "Ice Cream Sundae"
and decided to colour it with my promarkers
and make it look like it was a favourite ice cream - neopolitan -
(vanilla, strawberry and chocolate ice cream)
with a squirt or two of cream, some raspberry sauce, some sprinkles and a cherry!

Such a fun image needed fun birthday backing papers, which I found in my stash.
A diecut fancy square, a couple of die-cut stars, and a stamped sentiment, finished the card.

Unicorns!

I got to play with some super-cute images this week, from Kinda Cute...

Unicorns!
You get 3 in the set - and I couldn't resist using all 3 on this card...
but I guess you could just use one, or two.
I coloured the little cuties using my alcohol markers and popped a little
wink-of-stella on their horns too...they sparkle in the right light.
I diecut some teeny tiny stars and punched a border.
Finally, I stamped a sentiment and added a little
bit of stickles diamond sparkle, here n there.

I would like to add this to these challenges:

Catch the bug - atg - 14 Oct
Aud sentiments - 2 word sentiment - 9 Oct

Trick or Treat...

For this months challenge...
  "Halloween / Autumn"
I chose 'Lollipop jar' from Patties Creations.
Thought I would use this everyday image a little bit differently!

So.. I started with the basic lollipop jar - I made the card shape by printing off the jar
and using it as a template to draw around on my card.
I doodled some eyes on each of the lollipops.
(I tried to vary the eyes as much as i could. )
I coloured the lollipops with my alcohol pens
in traditional halloweeny colours: orange, green and purple
and used all my 5 shades of greys (promarkers) to colour the lid
I found some bakers twine, to which I threaded on a little tag,
which I die-cut and lettered myself.
I also drew some simple little bats, and coloured them black (obviously!)
and 3d foamed them to the 'lid' of the card.

I'm quite pleased with this card, and think I will send it
to my little nephew, for Halloween.

***Pattie also has a "candy corn jar" in her digi shop...
I chose not to use that image, as in England, we don't have candy corn...
Infact, I'm not really sure what its like..never had it!***

I would like to enter the following challenges:

A guest design spot!

I was selected to be a guest designer for Mari Ko Creations!

I was sent some really beautiful images to have a play with...
The first card is made using "fall floral coffee" -

I coloured the sweet image with my alcohol markers,
adding a strip of corrugated card for the middle section of the cup.
I fussy-cut the flowers and leaves, and popped them on 3d foam.
Some pretty papers and dry embossing, finished this card, along with a few
punched butterflies.
The sentiment was stamped directly onto the card.

I would like to add this card into the following challenges:

Alphabet challenge - nature - 12 Oct
Cute card thursday - autumn - 4 Oct
Crafty creations - atg - 9 Oct

The second card I made, uses the image "Apple cider and you"
(another beautiful image to work with.)
I embossed and hand-cut a frame, to fit around the sentiment -
which I printed directly onto the card.
(This set comes with both the image and the sentiment.)
After cutting out the image, I coloured it with alcohol markers and
and raised it a little on 3d foam.
I matted the frame, and inked the edges, finally adding a punched butterfly.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

It's a kitten!

This week, over at the Colour Crazy challenge,
the challenge (as usual - everyone seems to love it!) is "anything goes."

I have been waiting and waiting for my turn to get this sponsor...

I loved colouring these kitties!
I used the same image, to create a card for a little boy and another for a little girl.
I thought I could get away with these images for younger children, rather than a new born.

Using my alcohol markers, I coloured the images...
and used a "pointilism" technique to colour the sky and grass.
(little tiny dots in varying colours, to create one main colour.)
They were both mounted on white card, inked round the edges and
backed again onto gingham card.
The edge of the gingham card was dry embossed.
A computer generated sentiment and a number in the balloon finished off each card.
(I also added a few little Martha Stewart punched butterflies to Ella's card.)
I hope they are well received!

I would like to enter these into the following challenges:
Kitty bee designs - atg / animals - 14 Sept
Always happy birthday - happy birthday - 29 Sept
Little miss muffet - atg - 19 Sept

Magical Unicorn

Patties Creations has the "fairytale / fantasy "
theme for our challenge this month.
I used 'Unicorn.'

...which I coloured with my alcohol pens, and as it's a unicorn,
I HAD to add some glitter, so popped some strands of diamond stickles through her mane
and a few spots on some of the embossed stars in the background.
The butterflies were punched with my Martha Stewart punch
and the sentiment came from Pink Petticoat - no longer trading, sadly.
I don't think you can tell from the photograph, but the unicorn has
a light coating with wink of stella dusty glitter.

It's so pretty when it catches the light.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Brown sugar - all creatures great and small - 1 Oct
Always happy birthday - happy birthday - 29 Sept
Digi doodle studios - mythical/ magical - 28 Sept

Ladybirds and sunflowers.

Ching Chou Kuik is sponsoring us this week, at the Colour Crazy Challenge!
I used the Ladybug set - which is one image of a 2 image set.
The other image is a beautiful butterfly image.

The image is so pretty, that I didn't want to put much else with it.
After colouring it with my alcohol pens and covering the
ladybird shells in glossy accents, I popped it onto some grey dotty card
and I diecut a lacy border.
A simple stamped sentiment finshed this card, but then - as I was
about to photograph this card - I spotted a little drawer
 of teeny wooden ladybirds.
Perfect!

Summer fun

Hip Hip Hooray!  Summer holidays are here!
And that means... more crafting time for me!!

So, to put myself in the mood, and as the challenge is
"anything goes " at Patties Creations,
I have used the 'Camping is fun ' image...

Using a mixture of my promarkers and spectrum noir pens,
I coloured the cute little caravan.
I used my white sakura pen on the bunting, to make little patterns
on the peacock colour I coloured it with.
The embossing folder is one of my favourites,
and the sentiment comes from Pink Petticoat - which is sadly no longer in business.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
