Guess you all might be wondering where is the music player??!!
Bwahahaha... I purposely hide it away so you cannot press the green button!
I was doing my asignment when I got so tired and went in to check out blogs, heard the song from Mel's blog, and was CRAVING to get one too. Anyhow, I feel that it'll be nicer if I put on some music while you all are reading, and must thank Mel darling for teaching me how to get it work. *hugs*
This song is 就是爱你 (jiu shi ai ni), by 陶吉吉 (David Tao), it's Bri's song!! MINE!! Muahahaha....
Yeah.. hope you all enjoy and if you got sick of the song, can request me to change in "3 8 Box" or if you want to comment on the song, welcome to do so! ^_^
就是爱你们,

First time Cooking
Don't you think my blog is getting boring without pictures? I'm trying to wait for pictures to come in only then I'll update mar. Plus, now I have a camera phone, hehe... can snap pics anytime de lor. Wahaha... yes!! My phone is pink! Sony Ericson Z610i! Although it's not the pink I had in mind but it's good enough, as long as it's pink!
The place I'm living now, has a canteen downstairs that sell quite nice food in reasonable price. But I'm Brigette Lim! I want to COOK myself!! Besides, if I cook my own food, it'll be cheaper compare to buy food outside everyday, and they rarely have vegetables, except salad. SO!! I start cooking. Honestly speaking, another reason I want to cook is because I miss playing "masak masak". When I was young, I LOVE "masak masak"! Now, I get an opportunity to play REAL "masak masak". Of course I won't miss it. I'm nuts when I'm really young, I love to iron clothes when I'm really bored or chop garlic, fold clothes. So basically, I like to do house chores, so I don't really mind doing my own chores now.
Hehe... thought I've get myself ready to be able to cook when I get here, because I've been spending a lot of hours at home standing beside mummy & maid, observe how they cook and all. BUT!!! I was so wrong.... WHY? You know auntie auntie, the food they cook need A LOT of ingredients & preparations. My mom is a auntie, so the food she taught me all need very very long procedures to get it done. I definitely don't have the time to cook those lor. Plus, I'm eating alone. Here, I need to create my own simple & nice food. So, I'm like experimenting food, hehe... it's fun!
Every Saturday, there are two vans that will send students to the nearest super market. I didn't have any cooking equipments with me, so I need to organise and buy everything separately in few weeks, because it'll be impossible for me to carry everything. I have a funny feeling while I need to choose types of frying pans, rice cookers, even Lee Kum Kee and all.
My first time cooking wasn't that smooth, as I said, I don't have all the equipments that needed. I cooked macaroni with minced beef, because ingredients that needed are quite simple. Was cooking with my H.Kong & Macau friend and it was pass dinner time, so no one else is in the kitchen besides us.
I borrowed my friend's chop board to chop the garlics & onions but it wasn't cut nicely, because my friend wanted it back to cut her stuffs, so I just simply cut lor. When I was frying the onions & garlics, I saw big chunks of onions in it, so I wanted to use the ladle to cut it, then...... I put too much force..... Shok.... all the onions fly..... drop all over the place. hehe... I scared my friends.
After cooking, then I know "masak masak" is not THAT fun. I was inexperienced, a lot of uncertainties. From marinating the meat [never done it b4, just follow my friends brief instructions], boil the macaroni [I never cooked this b4, was experimenting], get the shredded cheese melted in microwave [never operate a microwave before]. To get all these done, I was quite stressful, because never done it before. I was exhaust after all the preparations. I sat down looking at my bowl of macaroni that fills with uncertainties, then I literally shout out and say "thank you God for the food". Never thank God so much for the food before, really appreciate every bite and before this, I think I sort of took food for granted. I took my mom for granted as well, when she use to cook back home. Hehe... I know I might sound silly and spoilt to some of you, but yeah... this is my experience, not ashamed to share it. I'm still learning what... ^_^
Next year when Yeeng Yeeng come join me or anyone else that is coming here, can come and taste my home-cook food, going to let you all feel homely, because by then I'll be super pro, because I'll keep trying. I will be happy to cook for you guys! [But u all must pay me la or help me vacuum my house] ^_^
Pictures TIME!

The Start of Something New
friends & family? They are all at Malaysia.
Yupz, new life starts now!
The first night when family left... no need me to say a thing, but you guys who know me well might have guessed that I'll be crying there. The atmosphere was not that bad, and I was just tearing. Didn't get to cry much because of the 3 Cheng Brothers giggling there at the sight of me crying. Anyways, nothing bad, they sort of help me control myself. Guess guys & girls are really from a different planet, hehe... After that, Peter koko sent James; Paul koko & Julia jeje sent me home. On the way back, both of them kept giving me useful words of encouragements. Even got bear hugs from them too! They are one of the biggest blessings god had for me in Australia.. ^_^
Next day (22 feb, Thursday), went to school for last day of ori, where they separate all students into different faculty. Was in desperate situation of course! Don't know anyone! Well, in times like these, you would practically talk to anyone who's around you which have a nice& friendly face. Cut it short, We had free lunch (subway) after the briefing of ori. While eating, we sort of like formed a group and start talking about normal stuff. God is so awesome! I get to meet 2 girls that goes to Clayton church of Christ (Paul koko's family church). One of the girls even offers to give me a lift to FOCUS (Fellowship of Christians Uni Students), which is on Friday; The other girl, asked me to go over her house and have dinner with her family. She pitied me, knowing that my family just went back yesterday. ^_^
Basically, that is how I spent my first day in Australia. When I got back, it was quite late, was tired, so slept straight away.
Sunday (25 Feb), went to my first service in Australia. Paul koko, Julia jeje & Emily girl girl ^^ picked me up from my place! So happy to see familiar faces again! The procedures of the service is very different compare to Mega & need to get use to it: Besides the pastor is a "kuai lou" (miss pastor HO!!), they had holy communion every week i guess.
After church, there is a Clayton festival. A lot of people from church joined in the crowd. I never been to a festival before, so it's actually kind of a good experience. Paul koko they all are staying for the festival, so I joined in too, but I followed the youth around.
Now to describe the festive. A certain long road in Clayton is closed for the festive. A lot of food stalls, game stalls, drinks etc all are placed along both side of the road. At the end of each side of the road has a stage. Announcements are made there, there are also singing & dancing performances too. The church youth participated in the performance with a group of people doing break dancing. There are a lot of amusing games, one of it is the jumping castle (basically, u just get into the big air balloon castle with a group of people and start jumping inside bumping each other).
At night, had dinner at Julia jeje's parents' (Uncle Arthur& Auntie Anne) house. HOME COOK FOOD!!! T_T
We had mi rebus!! I never love mi rebus much back in Malaysia, because the gravy is all watery. But!! Auntie Anne's mee rebus was really awesome!! Yum yum.... I'm always surrounded by good cooks, e.g my mom& Aunt Liz. Here, there's aunt Anne! So lucky... ^_^
How's 1st week of school? Met a lot of people. New faces in every tutorials & lectures. Don't really get to mix with Malaysian, mostly with Aussie people, people from Hong Kong & China. I got BIG exposure! People from these 3 places, all had different slang. And I get to play around with the slang, it just comes naturally. While speaking chinese with China people, out of nowhere, you'll follow their slang, same goes to people from Hong Kong speaking cantonese, but australia slang, bit hard to pick up, hehe.... but soon, I will! Yeah, it's really fun to play around with it.
Had joined FOCUS for 2 weeks by now. About Focus... There are mostly chinese people that are born in Australia, quite a number of their motherland is from Malaysia too. So, they have a mixture of culture. I'm one of the YOUNGEST there!! My gosh, back in Malaysia, everyone is like calling me big sister! Here?!?! Like baby only.... But yeah, another BIG exposure. Actually, Focus based more on uni students that is an Australian. And I'm supposed to be in the IS (international students) Zone, but I can choose to be wherever I want. But!! I'm sort of stuck in Focus, because there's this really nice girl name Mandice, she was like so sad when I say I might want to tryout IS. Hehe...
Anyhow, I do had thoughts to tryout in everywhere& honestly I do have negative thoughts on that group. But, during one of my devotion time with God, I read my daily bread, and it said:-
Is your local church plagued by problems?
Feel like running away to a church that appears to have less problems?
Then wait. Perhaps this is the word you need to remind yourself that there can be no growth without pain.
Haha... so that is one of my testimony. And I'm very sure that god is asking me to settle down here... ^_^
That is what I felt on the first week I been to Focus.
Back in Malaysia(again), I'm always surrounded with people I know. You'll feel belonged &feel excited to go for fellowship & gathering with everyone. Here, don't know anyone much, it's kind of difficult for you to feel excited to go for gatherings. So, on the second week before I went to Focus, I prayed to God, asking Him to give me excitement & sense of belonging. And guess what?
Hoho... God really did his work!! I had a different perception on Focus now. He opened my eyes once again. I found out that I really need to work on humbleness & also found out that there are so many good qualities in the people in Focus that I can learn from in terms of spiritual maturity& how they live their life. I'm no longer the oldest, temporarily need to stop giving but receive all that I can. Sense of belonging? I had it already.. ^_^ I know it's unavoidable that sometimes I might feel left out but I really hope I'll grow to like this new family more. (hope you guys will help pray about it)
Yesterday night, Ester gave me a ride home from FOCUS. She's a medical student, doing her fifth year. We enjoyed our talks so much, that we purposely took a ride down to Glen Waverly to continue our talks. Her parents had divorced only last 2 weeks. She shared on her experience how she faced it and all. Amazed on how she handle it.
Mmm... that's about it I guess. Hope I have not put you all into sleep.
But yeah, I believe god will continue to equip me in Australia. And I still believe that I'll do great things here with God at side. So... you guys back there better stand up & move on, don't lag! I'm definite that when I come back this year, you'll be able to see a new Brigette and I would love to see a new you too... ^_^
p.s try to post some testimonies. and I haven't receive much updates from you guys in blogs. If this continues, i'm paying back k?
