Oscar de la Renta for The Outnet - on Olivia Palermo (that's a lot of O's!)

Oscar de la Renta created a 24-piece exclusive collection for The Outnet, and Olivia Palermo is just the perfect 'model' for the collection, she looks so cute in the video on The Outnet's website (looks better in the video than in the pics below)! A lot of the pieces have already sold out (the ones I liked anyway, not that I could afford most of them anyway *whew* ), with the tweed pieces amongst my favourites.

What do you think of the collection?

Olivia Palermo - the real Blair Waldorf Pt 5: Spring/Summer 2012 Fashion Weeks

I did not come across many photos of Olivia Palermo at the SS'12 Fashion Weeks:

It's probably just me, but I must admit I did not 'feel' this outfit, I felt it was 'forced' and not the effortless elegance I usually associate with Olivia...Maybe it was the earrings? Not sure.

I like the outfit Olivia wore to Marchesa, simple and elegant...

Olivia Palermo - the real Blair Waldorf Pt 4:

I have a bone to pick with Olivia. I had placed a certain Topshop yellow dress in my 'shopping bag', which sold out before I had the chance to pay for it (this was before I went to Singapore and Malaysia). Whilst there I went to every single Topshop store I came across trying to find that dress in my size. When I get back, I decide to try my luck on ebay, and what do I find? People are selling them for 3x the RRP because Olivia wore it during the Paris Couture shows (how dare she? I wanted it first! Ok, let's be mature about this...I wannnnnntttttt). Anyway, who else but Olivia can wear Topshop and Zara to attend the Couture shows in Paris? I just love how she dresses high/low (although am still holding a little grudge against her for the Topshop dress). The floral Zara dress she wore is just gorgeous, and of course, love the yellow Topshop dress (although I must admit I don't like how she accessorized it, jewellery and shoe-wise), and the Valentino dress (and arm candy) are just dreamy:

Olivia Palermo - the real Blair Waldorf Pt 3: Fall/Winter 2011 Fashion Weeks

As I've said before, during the Fashion Weeks, seeing what my favourite fashionistas are wearing is often just as fun, exciting and inspiring (and at times even more so) as seeing the runway collections themselves.

Although I could not find many shots of Olivia Palermo, I liked her understated elegance at the New York and London Fashion Weeks:

Olivia Palermo - the real Blair Waldorf Pt 2: Spring/Summer 2011 Fashion Weeks

As shown in my previous post featuring Olivia Palermo, she has the ability to dress hi-lo, which I always find to be an admirable trait...she does so with a very elegant 'Upper East Side' look. In writing this post I was floored to find out she is merely 5'4"!!! That is my height! That is short! Now I understand the dark opaque stockings, to elongate the silhouette, although these were not present during the SS'11 Fashion Weeks:

Love the blazer and bag!
The booties are from Elizabeth & James

Valentino jacket
Jimmy Choo shoes
Wunderkind sunglasses

DVF skirt, Charlotte Olympia heels

My friend was given these by the designer herself, as wedding shoes. They are gorgeous!

Hermes Birkin & Charlotte Olympia heels

Leather shorts and Hermes Birkin - and on Olivia, it works.

Olivia Palermo - the real Blair Waldorf

I have never watched 'The Hills' or 'The City', and only discovered Olivia Palermo's stunning style through magazines (and street style blogs), and wondered who she was...She reminds me of 'Blair Waldorf', with her impeccably styled hair, preppy 'Upper East Side' style, and gorgeous smile. Like Leighton Meester (who plays Blair Waldorf), I prefer Olivia as a brunette.

Palermo is a master at blending inexpensive pieces, high-end designer items, and vintage articles to establish her sophisticated style; from Zara to Topshop, Ann Taylor and Hermes. She keeps things interesting by trying several different shapes and lengths, rather than playing it safe in a single silhouette; and has a love for blazers (I absolutely love blazers), as well as opaque stockings (keeping stylish in wintry weather).

Her shopping rule (and a good one):
Always try to buy things that I know will work with what I have in my closet, or something that I know I’ll grow into.

I particularly like her 'casual' outfits, but they are hard to find online...but even 'casual' she exudes a sophistication and elegance, even in very distressed jeans!
