Goin' to Kentucky....

Kay and I in Ashland. We stopped at our old house, same shingles even! We went around to the back yard and found the spot where the Beatles Fan Club met. LOL!!!

So glad we were able to make this trip. There is really no other place like Kentucky. We loved every minute.
Beautiful weather, scenery, and people!

Thanks Mom and Dad!

Cincinnati August 2012

Boone, Kay, and I took a trip to Kentucky in August. First stop - Peg and Dan's house! We had a great time staying with them in Ft. Wright, KY. Right across the river from Cincinnati. Kay and I loved to stay with them when we were little, and we still do! We got to see our cousins Danny and Jeff and the rest of the family too. Dan made sure we got to eat at LaRosa's and Frisch's! We went downtown like we used to back in the day too. Boone's highlight (besides seeing the family) was going to a Reds game with seats right behind home plate! Thanks to Danny! We loved our time there - it went by so fast!
Peg and Dan were such fun hosts!

Flaming Gorge 2012

We love to go camping and boating at Flaming Gorge every summer. It is so great to be able to get away to such a beautiful place so close to home! The grandkids were all very excited to get on the boat and go tubing, and they had a lot of fun on shore making sand castles, going for walks, playing "corn hole", hanging out with their friends and cousins, and hunting for crawdads with their flashlights in the lake at night.  The adults did their fair share of wake boarding, cliff jumping, and relaxing. The weather was a little iffy sometimes, but nobody really noticed or cared. Fun, fun, weekend!

Oliver loved camping!

We boated all the way down to the dam from State Line Cove, and had a picnic. Marvin
says it's at least 20 miles by water.

Karter's picnic is on his face.

Kolten and Kaylee at the dam. They looked for wildlife there and found a chipmunk, marmot, and a bunch of lizards. They were hoping for something a little bigger I think. LOL
