My kids new hobby

Cade, Phoebe and Sofia have been really into break dancing lately. I had no idea how much they had taught themselves until they showed Casey and I this week. Pretty amazing, right?!

Who should you vote for?

I feel very strongly that too many people vote for candidates for the wrong reason, whether it be solely along party lines or influenced by the media, polls or "popularity". That's why I thought this test was so cool. I actually didn't expect the result that I got. So much for my knowledge of where the presidential candidates stand on all of the issues. What I wasn't surprised to see, however, was that Hillary was on the very bottom of my list. At least I know that much! Take it and see what it says,

Here's the verdict...

Cloverfield is awesome! Seriously, if you have seen it and didn't like it, then you're just wrong. There is really something to be said for a movie that can't rely on any fancy camera angles or mood music but can still freak you out. I don't mean to sound like a scary movie junky, I just really enjoyed it. And I don't want to be a spoiler, but in the very last scene, look out into the horizon over Coney Island.

Is my life really this boring?!

As the days go by and I browse through many of your blogs, I think often, 'It has been a long time, I need to post something. But what?'.
Maybe I could write a post about Cade losing his tooth last week. Not so exciting, probably. Or I could write about Lila starting to let go of the table and even taking one (and 1/2) steps towards us on the couch. (We are really excited about that because Wednesday is her very first birthday.) I have even had the thought to write about the Happy Gram that Phoebe got in PE this week. Remember those?
The truth is, the more I have thought about how boring my life is, the more grateful I am becoming for it. We've all heard the adage that greatness comes from mediocrity. Is my life mediocre or just on its way to greatness. Depends on my mood. So this post is dedicated to gratitude and changing my mood.
Right now, we have dance on Mondays, gym on Tuesdays, golf, cub scouts and basketball on Wednesdays, gym, again, on Thursdays, FREE FRIDAYS, and basketball games on Saturdays. As much time as all of these sports and activities take up, this is what I pictured doing before I had kids. I love it!
If only I could manage time better, I'm sure I could squeeze some 'me' time in there somewhere. But, for now, I anxiously await the weekend when Casey and I can get away to dinner and a movie. Here's to great babysitters!
PS- Is anyone up for Cloverfield Saturday night? I'm so excited for it.

Phoebe is six!

Phoebe is six. She has been six for two weeks now, but, well, Mom sucks and I am just now sitting down to post the fun occasion for you all to enjoy as we did. In actuality, I have been spending all of my time on the computer just fooling around with photoshop and editing the hundreds of pictures I have taken with my new camera. I'm having so much fun.

Back to Phoebe, though. This year she has grown up so much. She is maturing, daily tantrums are a thing of the past. Her kindergarten teacher loves her. Her primary teachers love her. Her friends love her. But, we love her the most!

She is loving dance and gymnastics and we, as a family, love watching her do both. But, we, as parents, just love watching her. She is our first daughter and her sisters are so lucky to have her to look up to. She is an amazing big sister. I don't even have to get up to get the baby out of her crib in the morning because as soon as she starts crying, Phoebe goes and saves her. I'm so lucky to have her. What a girl!

Happy birthday, Phoebs!
