Braden turns 10

Braden wanted to have a baseball party with a few of his friends. First we went to the park and played a little baseball, then we hit water balloons with a bat, and did a little relay race. After the park we walked back to the house for cake and presents. Then the boys loaded up on movie treats and watched the Sandlot.

For his birthday date he wanted to go fishing. We went up to Hobbs reservoir in Layton. We didn't catch anything 😕 but it was fun. He wanted onion bombs for his birthday dinner! Braden loves hanging out with his friends. He loves baseball and soccer and video games. He loves history and playing war games like Risk and Stratego. He also loves chess! He is growing up to be a funny boy and is so smart. He is learning to be a big helper at home. He cleans bathrooms and does dishes and helps a lot with Henry. He is my one child who is always willing to go on a walk with me. We love Braden!

Bear Lake West Family Reunion

We had the best time at the West family reunion this summer. Rebecca was in charge and she reserved a beautiful house in Garden City that we all fit in. Our room had 4 beds and our own bathroom, pretty sweet. The kids loved being around cousins. Henry is the youngest of the 48 grandchildren so he got lots of attention.

Paul took a few kids to see Minnetonka cave. We had so much fun in the lake too. Joseph rented a boat with a large tube. Susie and I got to try it out and it was so fun. He also rented a few jet skis that we all took turns on.

Best family reunion ever!

Grandma Suzy's and Fish Lake

We love to spend a week at Grandma Suzy's each summer. We picked cherries from her tree, swam in the river creek at our favorite Cedar City park, and visited her classroom at school.

We also celebrated the 4th of July at her house! The Cedar City parade is the best 4th of July parade I've ever seen. It was a full-on history lesson with so many historic floats. I loved it! Not a lot of candy in that parade- to the kids' dismay. We had a yummy barbecue later that day too.

We also took a trip to the Creamery in Beaver. It was beautiful and delicious!

Mom and I got to go to the temple while I was there too. It was a great visit. I love to be around my mama.

We headed up to Fish Lake from Grandma's house. Paul met us there because he was working the holiday. We had a great time catching lots of perch and enjoying summer in the mountains. We only caught one trout. But we love to be on the lake on Grandpa's boat. We cooked corn on the cob over the fire and it was the best! Henry didn't sleep great in the tent. Maybe he'll do better next year.
Fish Lake is one of our favorite spots!
