For Christmas we had planned on staying here in Wisconsin, but then, last minute, we decided to surprise our families and come back to Utah for Christmas. We decided to spend Christmas day with my family since it has been awhile since we spent Christmas Day with them.
It was really fun to sneak up to the door and watch my Mom open the door and really really be surprised. Of course, she was happy to see all of us, but she grabbed up the baby quickly and brought little Elise into see my Dad. It was nice to see my Mom and Dad. We also got to spend some time with Ruth and her Brian. They seem very happy together. We played some cards, the kids played with all the toys. Matthew took the laptop in and played the computer in my Dad's room for awhile. We spent a few days in Monticello, and then spent a few days in Pleasant Grove with Brian's family. Then, Brian came back to work, and I went back to Monticello for another couple of days (Matthew went up to play with Aunt Rae and her kids).
It was really cute. My Dad's TV in his room is turned up loud enough to hear what he is watching from the upstairs. While I was packing up the car to leave, my Dad found PBS kids, and my kids heard it and ran in and watched TV with him in his room. He was so cute to know what to do to get the kids to watch with him. I was sad we were trying to beat a storm, or I would have loved to let the kids spend just a little more time with their Grandpa. Here are some pictures from Monticello.
Elise.
Playing in the couch cushions. They liked burrying themselves.
I love how you can really see forever in Utah.
I love driving into Monticello and seeing the horsehead on the mountain.
Another view of forever.
Brian. We are on our way to PG to surprise his family.
The carload of people. Seth is inbetween Matt and Kara.
Kara in her new dress. Matt and Seth are watching Scooby Doo, adn Lindsay is playing with her Polly Pocket toy (gasp, I actually let her open it before we got back home, and even more of a gasp, we didn't lose any of the little pieces).
