Brown

Spencer had his "Walking Report Card" yesterday and it was so fun seeing the things he's making, learning, singing etc. We even got to dance with him. Anyway, I have to say that my favorite thing was this picture he drew about his day. He drew his family, including me holding Mason, which I thought it was cute. BUT, the best part of the picture was the colors he used. He colored everyone in our family yellow, and guess who is the brown one? hahaha ... Wes and I thought it was so funny! I guess that's how he sees us :-) Love that kid!!!

A week in my life

Last week I saw this fun project and I thought it would be fun to do the same thing, but instead of doing this "day in my life" I did a week in my life. It will be fun to look at this week, six to twelve months from now, and remember little things we did here and there.

Fortunately the weather was beautiful and we got to do more things than usual. I am writing most of the good things that happened to us. There were lots of crying, whining  and kids fighting too. I realized that, times like those, the last thing I remember is to grab the camera. I am too irritated to remember :)

Our day usually starts the same way - I get up and get the kids breakfast and ready for the day before 8:00 a.m.. I love my green shake every morning and it helps me to get through my gym work out.

After I drop off Spencer at school, I go to the gym. Yes, everyday, unless I have something going on. Having a baby in my mid. 30's had it's consequences. I also had to have a c-section due to some unexpected issues during labor. Soooo ... let's say my body is very different comparing with my other 2 post pregnancies. It's not easy to take cycling classes 3 times a week, plus toning and Zumba and some running every once in a while. However, it's been awesome for me and my health and I actually enjoy it.

Afternoons consist mainly in homework, reading time, playtime, regular "to do" things around the house and dinner. Here are some random pictures of our afternoons this week.

Playing ...

Even Mason plays now with his little toys :-)

Spencer and Isabella playing Candy Land their way ...

Yep, here's Dora and Boots dead .. hehe

Bella's new thing ... mix & mach socks. Love it!

Bubbles & Bubbles

Not so happy times ..

Nap and rest time

Just hanging out

This week the weather was so nice that we got to go outside. We took a walk through the neighborhood ...

And we even went to the park with cousins ... so nice to be outside!!!

We finished our week with a super fun getaway to Mt. Aire on Saturday. We went to Emily and Mike's place and spent the afternoon there. It was so relaxing being up there and spending time with them. What a beautiful and peaceful place to be.

On the way up Spencer and Bella were pulled by the snowmobile. It seems not safe but Wes was very slow and careful and the kids LOVED IT!! Mason got to ride the snowmobile and also he sled down with Wes on the sled. I know it sounds crazy for a two and a half month old baby but .. I guess we are crazy and, to be honest, I like to be adventurous :D He slept the whole time.

Before we headed up ..

Mason wasn't so sure about it but then he slept all the way up.

Our way up ..

A little video of them -

After we were back down ... nothing like seeing a silly happy face at the end of all :-)

Life is not good times all the time - but I sure like to remember them the most!

Sunday Surprise

Last Sunday I was able to "sleep in" a little bit since Mason was still sleeping after 7:00. I noticed Spencer and Isabella were up but they didn't come to my room, which it was nice. After a while I heard a knock. I knew it wasn't anybody at the door otherwise my kids would've told me. The knock keeping going for about 10 minutes and I just ignored wondering what my kids were up to. Finally they started to call me - mom, mom, mom ... So I decided to get up. When I got to the leaving room they were hiding and suddenly said "surprise"!!!!

Well, for my surprise, they, on their own willingness, clear up the toys in the living room and also clean all the toys in their room. The living room wasn't bad but we hadn't organized their room before bed on Saturday, so it was messy.

WOW, their room looked awesome! I was so happy to see them taking initiative to do this. They knew how much it would mean to me. And it did!!

And to complete it, for breakfast, they set the table and got the plates, cups, etc, out without me asking!

It felt SO GOOD to be served by my kids!! LOVE THEM!!!

Notes

Spencer is in Kindergarten and he understands now how to write. Lately we've been getting notes from him under our pillows, on the bed, kitchen, etc. It's been so fun to see him express his feelings through notes. Isabella is learning with him and doing the same things, with Spencer's help ;) Besides writing, they love to draw and I think they do a pretty good job at it. So I decided to take pictures of some of their "art" and post them here.

First I have a funny story - A little while ago, we were getting ready to have a family prayer and Spencer really wanted to say it. We take turns to pray and it wasn't his turn and he insisted a lot but Wes told him that it was someone else's turn. Well, we got side tracked playing with Mason and Spencer left the room. A little while later, he comes back with a note to Wes. Wes opened a big smile and started to read: "Dad, I don't want to listen to you". HAHA .. Wes' smile turned down right away and I thought it was so funny! Here's a picture of his note:

Here's a few notes and drawings from Spencer

From the movie "Up". He did a great job drawing Kevin!

Here's Spencer negotiating with Wes - "Dad, If you give me waffles, I will give you a penny"

This one says - "Hey daddy, I think you are great". How cool is that? :)

Here's a picture from my sweet Isabella

Being a parent is definitely the
BEST THING IN THE WORLD!!!!!
