Christmas 2009

There is nothing like Christmas morning! This was the first year our kids were old enough to understand who Santa Clause is and the fact that he brings presents to good boys and girls. Also, Spencer understood the real meaning of Christmas, the birth of our Savior.

This is a video of the kids when they first saw the gifts. It is quite long (almost 6 min.), but I figured they will enjoy seeing it in the future :)
.
.
After we all opened presents, we went to Doug and Linda's for breakfast with the family. As always, I love spending Christmas morning there. I think it is the combination of the fire place, the living room and the people. There is a feeling there that I really enjoy. Linda prepared a great breakfast for all of us. It was delicious! Plus we got a call from Cam! It was so good to hear his voice and talk to him!

I love that we took a picture of the grandkids. Aren't they adorable? They sure have a lot of fun playing around, specially when the uncles go crazy with them. Gotta love the uncles! ;)

Then it was time for the kids to open gifts. They had so much fun unwraping papers and playing with their new toys. Thanks grandma and grandpa! The couples exchanged gits the next day. This year the gift had to be mostly homemade. I was surprised with the creativity of everyone. Love it! Too bad I don't have pictures.

Snow Fun

Spencer looked out the window this morning and said "let's make a snowman!" Well, I thought it would be a great idea. So I got the kids ready, grabbed the carrots and outside we went to make our snowman. Well, little I knew that you can't build a snowman with powdered snow! hahaha ... So the only thing I could think to make was a mountain :) But, we made sure the carrot was on top of it :D We had fun though. Bella helped us a couple of times, then she discovered that snow "tastes good" so she spent most of the time eating the snow out of her gloves ... good times :)

2 going 16?

My little Bella is not even two and already has a crush on somebody. His name is Mike and him and his sweet wife Brie lives in our basement. Bella talks about Mike frequently. When we get home and pull in to our car port, the first thing she says is "Mike".."Mike". When she sees him, it doesn't matter who she is with, she wants to go with Mike. Every time she sees their Christmas Card, she holds it and walks around saying "Mike".."Mike". When she plays with her play phone, Mike is usually the fist person "she calls". It is like on the movie Finding Nemo, when the seagulls are saying "mine" "mine" "mine", I hear often, "Mike" "Mike" "Mike" :) Just last Sunday, Mike and Brie were sitting a few benches behind us, and I guess Bella kept looking at Mike and smiling. I am just glad Brie thinks it is cute ;) We sure think that is the cutest thing ever!

Ugly Sweater Party

Saturday night we went to an Ugly Sweater party with some friends. It was really fun! We had dinner, desserts, white elephant, games and lots of laugh! We are so grateful for the great friends we have! They are so much fun! I got my sweater at the DI and added the bells afterwards, as for Wes's ... believe or not, that sweater is actually his!!! ahahah I called Linda to see if she had any sweater and she pulled it out of Wes's "performing" box. He wore it when he was sixteen while performig with his group :D Too bad I don't have a video of him showning his "moves" rsrsrs. Also, as part of the deal, we commited to wear the sweater to church the next day and ... yep ... I did it! Wes decided not to, just because ... I think you can get the picture :D

Jill and Z were so kind to watch our little ones that night, so, I decided to add some pictures of them to this post, so they don't feel left out.
(just kidding, this is just an excurse to post more pictures of them .. what can I do, they are so adorable!! ;)

Keeping Memories Alive

Bella is sooo sweet! One of my favorite things that she does is when she starts asking me if I am OK. She goes .. "OK?" then, after 2 seconds, I hear again "OK"? then "OK"? .. and so on .. But I've got to record her cute little voice saying it. SO adorable! She likes to play with my hair and to give Wes massages. We get hugs and kisses all the time from her. She also sings often and loves the alphabet! When she sees a card or a book, she goes "abcd", super fast!

Bella

I recorded this video like a month ago (yes, it's taking me this long to post it :)

Bella Singing

Video of Spencer and Bella dancing a Xuxa song. Love it!

Spencer is totally into guns and swords. He makes swords and guns out of anything. While eating Doritos, for example, he finds a mini gun and starts shooting with it. His train tracks are the most popular guns in the house. He loves this little green water gun too. The letter "t" is actually a sword for him :) He loves to play Peter Pan and to fight with Captain Hook. He can make the perfect sound of Star Wars Lightsaber sword. He also makes swords out of anything. The vacuum attachments, for example, are perfect swords, just because they go inside each other ( I hope that makes sense :D ) Any long stick, whether it's plastic, foam or a tree branch ... becomes a sword in Spencer's hand.

He loves to go school. Now, he goes to preschool twice a week and always look forward to it. I've heard great feedback from his teacher! I am just glad he sits and pays attention. When I ask him what he learned that day, he tells me details of the class! I love it!

It is so cute when kids begin speaking and trying to say the same things you do. Spencer, for instance, says these sentences that are not correct, but they sound so cute to me! For example, if he likes something he says "that is my favorite, my favorite ever I seen" .. rsrsrs .. CUTE!! Or if he wants me to repeat something I've said he goes "what you saying about, mom?" :) Isn't it adorable!

Meeting Santa Claus

Today I took the kids to see Santa Claus. I didn't think Spencer would be up to sit on Santa's lap but, he was actually very comfortable with it and even told Santa what he wants for Christmas. Bella, on the other hand, did not want to be even close to him. Well, I had to make her, just because I think it is a classic! So I posted her picture of last year's too just for fun! :D

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. After a great dinner, we watched Mary Poppins and played games afterwards. Some people took a nap, some played, some relaxed ... It was just fun being with the family. I am so grateful for the Brewer's! Thanks to Dacia and Jill for giving me theses pictures, since I forgot to take my camera :)

For Spencer

My little boy is growing so fast! He is now going to preschool and he even has his own "locker" :) One thing I've noticed is that, despite of his endless energy and hyperness, there is a sweetness about him. I've seen several times him comforting Bella when she is sad ... his efforts to be better when he makes a mistake ... how much he cares about others ... how curious he is to learn new things ... how he expresses his love to us by saying often "I love you" ... how funny he is ... I love him so much!
Below are some shots of the many times he's been "hanging out" on top of his toy box lately :)

When Cute Kids Meet Autumn

Last week I was VERY fortunate to have the opportunity to take pictures of four CUTE kids. The weather was so beautiful so we went to Wheeler Farm. I am happy how the pictures turned out ... well ... the kids were SO cute that it is almost impossible not to get a good picture of them :) I am also happy to be able to practice taking pictures and changing what didn't work from one session to another. Thanks to Roberta and Janel (and the little models ;) for letting me take these pictures. You can see more of them here.

Halloween Festivities

Happy Halloween! We had a geat Halloween week. The kids had a party, pretty much every day this week. Tuesday we went to the annual trunk-or-treat at Grandma's ward. The kids were so excited to wear their costumes. The only problem we had that night was that Spencer ate so much candy that after we got home he threw it all up!! It was not fun :( Well, for the rest of the week, I really had to control how much candy he ate :)

Wednesday we went to the Murray Library party. That is Spencer and his friend Macoy. Thursday we had the Joy School party with the siblings at Janel's house. It was really fun, there ware many activities for the kids.

Friday our ward had the trunk-or-treat and the chille cook off. Wes inspired me to dress up this year and we had so much fun! Wes was a "white rapper" and I was an "afro lady" from the 80's. Notice Wes's NASTY fake hair coming out of his neck and chest and his "shiny" teeth :D I love how fun my husband is! Aftewards Wes and I went to the Croppers' for a SUPER FUN game night. Jill and Z were very kind to take our kids for a sleep over at their house. Thanks a ton!

Saturday night we ditched our sweet little trick-or-treaters to go to the Utah "black out" game. Wes got two sweet 3rd row tickets from a friend and we decided to go instead. It was really fun! Not that I am into football at all (matter fact I understand the bare basics of it :) but just being there feeling the energy of the crowd was so awesome! Emily took the kids trick-or-treat. Thanks Em :D

For Bella

Katelyn gave these shoes to Bella and she loves them. It is just the cutest thing seeing your little girl walking on these kind of shoes!

I actually don't allow feet on the table, however I noticed the other day Bella trying really hard to put her feet on the table while eating her cereal. After a few attempts, she finally did it. She just looked so adorable, so I captured it!

As for the next one, I found Spencer and Bella eating their cereal under the table. Spencer calls it "the dog house" ... ahahah ...

I love how playful kids are. Spencer and Bella have been playing so good lately (of course they fight too ;) Now, that Bella is getting older, they spend more time together, even reading books to each other! So, I had to take some pictures just because they are SOOO CUTE!!

Spencer and Katelyn love to wear sunglasses while playing and notice his tie .. my friend gave it to him and he wears it all day :)

Wheeler Farm

I took Spencer and Bella to take pictures at Wheeler Farm today and I love how they turned out. Spencer is so easy to take pictures of. Bella, on the other hand, pretty much runs from me! ahahah. Thanks to my friend Andrezza we were able to get her attention a few times :)

The Latest Happenings

Funny story:

Katelyn and David were at our house, Spencer and Kate started this conversation about throw up experiences. So Kate goes first (now picture her sweet little voice) " I was at my grandma Dalton's home and I threw up on my pillow. Then I asked my grandma "could you please clean up my throw up grandma?" So my grandma came a cleaned it all up and I didn't even cry. Now, this is Spencer's story, " I threw up on my bed really bad, and on my hair, pillow and floor and I was "bua, bua, bua" (that is Spencer showing us his crying), then I called my mom and she said "OH MY GOSH!!!!!" (now imagine him saying that really loud). At that time, I thought with myself "OH MY GOSH" is that how I react in his eyes or is it really me? No wonder he is so dramatic! He takes it after ME!! ahahaha ...What a fun kid!
I love his imagination ....

MY NEW BLOG

The more I learn about photography, the more I get into it. It is SO fun! I know I am not close to being a pro, neither do I have the pro's "thousand Dollar" equipment, however I want to be good at it so I figured the more I practice the better I get. That is why I have a new blog just for my favorite pictures. Yes, I love blogging ;)

The Low Down

Sunset from my backyard ... simply beautiful!

Spencer had a great time at the circus on Friday. His friends Macoy and Dede came along to add more fun to our little adventure. He loved the clowns. I love you son!

Wes has been working a ton up at Mt. Aire to finish the bathroom/storage room before snow comes (yes, we miss him ;). I've been trying to keep some pictures going to see the progress. Besides the foundation, he is pretty much doing it all by himself. I am so proud of him!

Spencer and Bella were being so funny the other day! I heard them laughing and when I got to Bellas' room they were pretending they were sleeping. So they would "sleep" then "wake up" laughing. I thought it was so cute!
