Daddys shoes

Posted by PicasaThe other day Avery found daddys shoes. She walked around the house with just one of the shoes, and she had to stop every few minutes to put it back on. She is at such a fun age and has such an imagination. This girl loves shoes and has to try on every pair she sees.

4th of July!

I started the 4th festivities off with running in the 5k. Anne, Sarah, Jenny and Troy also ran the race. It was such a nice course and I finished in 29 minutes and was 14th in my age group!!! The mayor of Layton was cheering everyone on at the finish line. Anne and I had to get a picture with him. I have really starting to love to run, so in November I am going to run my first half marathon!! yahoo!! After the race I had to go to work, so Brett took Avery to the parade.

Brett said she watched the whole thing which is good for her. Usually she would run off, but she was highly entertained. They got lots of candy and had a blast. After the parade it was time for a nap!

After work we went to Cafe Rio for dinner and then to Jenny's for fireworks. It wasn't dark enough yet, so we just hung out and had some yummy ice cream cones. Avery's favorite treat these days. As soon as the fireworks started the neighbors dogs came running over. They were trying to eat them. It was so hilarious!! Annie would never do that she is so scared of the fireworks. Avery wasn't quite sure about the fireworks at first, but she warmed up to the idea pretty quick. Soon she was clapping after every one.

Then we were off to see the big fireworks show at the Layton park. Brett took Avery home to go to bed, but I was able to go with my family. Layton city really knows how to put on a fireworks show. It was a blast!! Love the 4th.

Weekend at the cabin

We had a little weekend getaway with my family before my parents leave on their mission. Anne and Mitch were even able to join us, so we had everyone all together. We got up to the cabin Friday afternoon, and right off Avery was running around!! That afternoon we were able to just hang out and wait for the whole clan to arrive.

We started the night off with some yummy pork loin sandwiches that Danny made. And then my favorite part hanging out by the campfire. We of course couldn't end the night without roasting marsh mellows and having some good laughs. We had our very own little talent show by all the little kids. Lola and Afton sang for us,and Stratton and Austin did a little rap song. We have some pretty good talent in our family watch out Hannah Montana!! We had a pretty crazy night and something Brett and I don't want to re live, but at least we can laugh about it now. We had put Avery down to bed in the bunkhouse by herself. Henry was in a tent, but it was too cold for him to sleep outside, so Danny took him in the bunkhouse as well. So from all the noise Avery woke up then later all of us had to sneak in there to sleep and she woke up again. Usually Avery will just go back to sleep, but not that night. She was up off an on from midnight to 4 in the morning. She wasn't crying she was just talking and kicking her feet on the wall. I think she was so wired that she couldn't get herself back to sleep. Well through all this Brett and I couldn't sleep either. We thought it would be best if we left and went for a drive to get her to sleep. So she wasn't falling asleep and we were exhausted. There was no where to go and we just wanted a few hours of sleep, so the best scenario that we could think of was to drive back home. We drove an hour and half home and slept 5 hours. At least we got a little bit of sleep. We headed on the road again and got back to the cabin about 2. That was one crazy night!!!

When we got back Avery took a much needed nap! Brett, Jenny and my mom took the kids on a little hike. I gave Brett the camera, but he didn't much pictures oh well! I spent the time out by the campfire just chatting with the fam. It was so nice to just relax.. how I love the cabin its so peaceful.

Avery took a much needed long nap. As soon as she woke up all the kids wanted to come say hi. We had fun playing in the bunkhouse, and I got the cutest pictures of them all piled on top of each other. They are such funny kiddos!!! Avery loves her cousins and they are so cute with her.

We had another yummy dinner!! love camping food it always tastes so delicious! Avery had fun playing on all the chairs and just being silly! Love her cute little smile!

The kids had a fun time playing football, and Avery wanted to join so bad. Soon enough Avery you will be old enough! We decided it was a good time to get all the grand kids in a picture. Look how cute they all are! They are all growing up so fast! I am so grateful that we were all able to get together one last time before my parents leave. I have the greatest family in the world!! Thanks for such a great weekend.

Picking strawberries

Posted by PicasaA few weeks ago Brett was watching my sisters kids, and they needed a fun activity to do. During the month of June you could go to Day farms in Layton and pick strawberries. Andrew, Stratton, Evie and Avery went along for the fun. Evie cried the whole way there saying she wanted to go home. When they got there Evie was still crying about going home. Brett thought she was having a tantrum , and if he ignored her she would soon get over it. Well they started picking strawberries and Andrew looked back to check on Evie and she had her skirt down and was peeing in the field!! When you gotta go, you gotta go! Such a funny girl. Andrew and Stratton enjoyed themselves and even got some pictures on the tractor. Brett said Avery found one place in the field and just sat there the whole time playing in the dirt. She is easily entertained!! After they went home they ate all the strawberries and didn't even leave one for me..how rude! I love the picture of Evie screaming..such a classic picture!
