Boys camping trip

Brent and the older boys decided to camp out in the backyard last week. They thought it was so much fun. They spent 2 hrs coming into the house for numerous bathroom breaks and just general excitement kept them up well past bedtime. They surprised me and they both made it out in the tent all night long. Hendrix and I enjoyed a nice quiet night inside. Then joined them in the morning to play in the tent for a bit before we had to clean it up.
Jaxon and Brent will have their first real camping trip soon when they go for the father and sons campout.

Preschool graduate

Jaxon has had a really great year in preschool this year. He learned so much and it has been a great experience for him. He used to be my VERY shy boy but he has become so much more confident and comfortable talking to people. We really loved his preschool and all the amazing teachers there.
They had an end of the year music program that was so cute. He is so excited to start kindergarten in the fall!

Walking

Hendrix has been walking for the last month or so. He started off only taking a few steps here and there but only every so often. Then one day he just took off and he is quick. He is now to the point the he almost never crawls anymore because he is just as fast if not faster walking.
The older boys thought it was so much fun "teaching" Hendrix how to walk and cheering him on as he was learning.

Field trips

One thing that I've really enjoyed about Jaxon's preschool is all the fun field trips that they go on; and that I have been able to go along on all of them. Last month we went to Papa Murphys and they toured the whole store and then got to make their own pizzas. They were really nice and let younger siblings make one too.
The best part was lunch was taken care of that day!
Last week we went to the Jr livestock show. We were able to see lots of sheep, cows, pigs, and a few goats. The boys had the chance to pet a cow but both declined but Jagger was eager to feed the pigs.

Happy Birthday!!!

As much as I want to pretend it didn't really happen it did Hendrix had his first birthday. The year went by so quickly and I feel like three kids has kind of kicked my butt. Hendrix is a perfect fit to our family. He is trying to walk a little more each day and is getting closer; he took a couple steps today before he lost his balance. One his birthday he had 3 teeth and two days later his 4th one cut through his gums. He had his 12 month well child check yesterday he weighs 20lbs 7oz and 30 1/2 inches long he got 4 shots and didn't like that one bit but got over as soon as he got his binkie and I picked him up. He still loves food, he continues to be an awesome sleeper and sleeps 11+ hours a night. He says daddy, and uh oh. He loves to whistle and has since he was about 6 months old. He loves to play with his brothers and I think he will be able to hold his own against them, he already loves to wrestle.
For his birthday I made him our traditional first birthday monster cake.
He started out very slowly and for some reason would only eat the yellow frosting.  I tried to give him some blue and he cried. He got over that after a few minutes and went to town on the rest of the cake.
I also made some monster cupcakes for everyone else to enjoy.

Pinewood Derby

As part of my church calling I help out with the Cub Scouts in our ward. We combine with another ward and we still have a smaller group of boys so this year for the pinewood derby they decided to let parents, siblings, and pretty much anyone make a car to race. The boys thought it sounded like a fun idea. So Jaxon made a Rainbow Batman car and Jagger made a Superman car. They thought it was so cool to watch the races and see all the cars but especially when theirs raced.
This was my first time actually helping to build a car so now I have a much better idea what I can expect in a few more years when they are in Cub Scouts.

Party Fun

I had debated throwing a birthday party for Jaxon this year but it has been a crazy busy month so I never got around to it, but some friends of ours have kids that also have March birthdays so one of their girls thought it would be fun to have a big party for those that had birthdays this month. It was nice for me not to have to plan a whole party but for the boys to get to have a fun party.
Between the three families their were 5 kids with March birthdays we celebrated. They picked an animal theme for the party and even had animal costumes for all the kids. We ate yummy food and played fun games and the kids had a great time.
We even had all the food animal themed. Brent made snake sandwiches and I made cupcakes and decorated them as monkeys, lions, and tigers, but I forgot to take a picture of the cupcakes.

Birthday Boy

Jaxon had a great birthday this year. He had the day off from school so we spent the whole day doing things he loves. We started the day out with a present from Jagger. It was a box of Frozen cereal. He has been asking for months if I would buy it for them so I thought it would be perfect for his birthday. Next we went to a few of his favorite places; Target, Hobby Lobby, and the mall. We got him a new tie for church and the boys played for a bit at the mall then we stopped for a special treat.
After that we headed home and had a quiet afternoon while Hendrix napped and I finished up Jaxon's cake. Brent got home a little early and we went out for a special birthday dinner. Jax's choice was McDonalds and we even ate there so the boys could run and play on the toys. Then we went home for cake and ice cream. Jaxon was very insistent on having a Batman cake this year. Luckily I have an amazing friend that helped me make it and Jaxon really seemed to like it.
Then of course it was time for presents. He got lots of fun new toys. He was so sweet sharing with Jagger and when he was all done they got to stay up a little later than normal to play with all the new toys.
He said that he had a GREAT day! It was so fun spending the day with him and doing some of his favorite things. He is growing so much and is a really good kid.
