2 Months

I have been thinking to myself that I was pretty sure that Jagger is bigger than Jaxon was at the same age for a while now, but now I know for sure. Jagger is just over 12 lbs. and just over 24 inches long, that is almost the exact same size Jaxon was when he was 4 months old. He had his doctor's appointment and did fairly well considering all the poking and prodding they do, he hated the shots but calmed right down, he was more upset about having to go back into his car seat. We all just love having this little guy in our home.

Brothers

Tummy time was never fun for Jaxon until he could roll, it seems that Jagger feels the same way. He can last about 5 minutes at the most before he will start to cry. He does seem to like it a little better when he has company.

Jaxon is big on having his cars and trucks kiss so of course Jagger was the recipient of many truck kisses.
Jax has decided that sitting on the stool at the counter is a new favorite place to play. He likes to hang out there while I'm cooking or cleaning.

Jax was sitting on the couch and he really wanted Jag to sit by him.

Then he insisted that Jag sit on his lap, he did pretty good he still needs a little work with putting his arms around Jag to hold him.

I swear Jagger is a very happy little guy but some how he always knows when I pull out the camera to capture the moment and goes from smiling and laughing to blank stares.

Stranger Danger!!!

For right now I don't think we need to worry about teaching Jaxon about stranger danger, he seems to have it under control.

This was at our ward Christmas breakfast, Jaxon watched as all the other children went and sat on Santa's lap and was just fine. Then it was our turn he watched as sleeping Jagger went peaceful into Santa's arms, but the second I carried him closer than 5 feet he started to cry. I tried to set him down on Santa's lap reassuring him that he was just fine, that's when he started to scream! So we settled for the arm of the chair and a screaming child that was trying desperately to get away.

Jaxon's New Favorite Things!

Over the last few days Jaxon has discovered a few new favorite things:

He has liked to color for a while now but until today I never realized just how much, he burst into tear when I had to take away his crayons at lunch time. Then after his nap he colored for an hour and a half straight.
Peanut butter on fingers

Peanut butter on a spoon.

Just so you know I don't and wouldn't normally just hand over a jar of peanut butter and let him go to town, but it was pretty much empty. He spent quite a bit of time scraping every last bit of peanut butter out of the jar. Jaxon is really into picking out his clothes right now, when it is time to get dressed in the morning he gets really upset and fights getting dressed unless he gets to wear the clothes that he picked out. I know friends with little girls that do this, but I didn't realize that little boys do this too.

Smiles

Jagger has got such a sweet smile, he is a very smiley little guy. He also enjoys laughing and squealing when he is happy.

Just like Jaxon Jagger loves the swing, he could stay in there all day if I would let him.

Who Wore It Best!

Have you ever seen in People magazine the Who Wore It Best? If not, here is the gist of it: they have two different celebs that were caught in pictures wearing the same outfit, then it tells who they felt wore it best. Well this is my own version:

Jaxon at just over 2 months.

Jagger a week shy of 2 months.

Well I don't know about you but I think that they are both pretty darn cute!

Hanging Out

I was able to get a picture of these two just hanging out, watching some TV. Normally Jaxon is busy trying to "play" with Jagger, he likes trying to point to, or jab Jagger's eyes, ears, or mouth. We are working on being gentle and not poking other people. Jaxon has finally warmed up to the idea of giving Jagger kisses, instead of just blowing him kisses, but he insists on only giving them to Jagger on the crown of his head. Jax really does love Jagger and tries really hard to play nicely and is very helpful at trying to cheer Jagger up when he is upset. Jagger really likes Jaxon too, he loves to look at Jax with a big grin on his face. Everyone has been and continues to tell me that these two will be great friends and have so much fun together. At first I thought sure someday, but as I watch them interact I see that they already are. I wish I could explain it better but as I watch them I can just see the connection they already have and I know that as they get older they are going to have a great relationship.

Jaxon, as most other kids I'm sure, loves to play with things that really aren't his toys. I was making lunch and when I was done this is what I found.

He played with these cans for a good half hour and only stopped because mom made him go take a nap. He pulled out a couple of chicken broth cans and built a variety of different towers with all of them.

Family Pictures

We had new family pictures taken a couple weeks ago, it was a bit chilly that morning but both the boys did a really good job. As always Jaxon was his charming self and pretty much refused to smile. We did manage a few smiles out of him but not until the end of our session. The girl that took our pictures does an awesome job, you can check out more of her work here jacquelynrobinsphotography.blogspot.com

Love My Boys

My Mom came to stay with us when Jagger was born and she just left yesterday, so I am now truly learning what it is like having two kids. I was very spoiled the last month having her here to help out so much. After all of our family left and I was left alone with the boys for the first time all I could think was "What was I thinking? How is this ever going to work?" but really I can't imagine not having both. I really have a hard time remembering what it was like just a short time ago when it was just Jaxon.

These two are so much fun, I know I'm going to have my hands full for a long time but it is going to be so much fun!

It's Already Been A Month!?!?

This last month has really been a blur, it went by way too fast! Jagger was a month old on the 12th. We had family come to town and we went ahead and had his Blessing in our home. It was a really great time to be with family. Both sets of Grandparents were able to be there and Brent's brother and his family made the trip to be with us. We really appreciate everyone making the trip be able to be here. Brent did a wonderful job, I was reminded just how blessed I am and what a great family we have.

Mom's Little Monster

Jaxon had a great Halloween this year! First off he really seemed to love his costume, he insisted on wearing it all afternoon on Sunday. We went to our ward Trunk-or-Treat which Jax liked but didn't quite understand what was going on, then on Halloween we went out around our neighborhood and he had a ball. He had so much fun watching all the people that were out and was very curious as to what everyone kept putting in his bag. The saddest part of the night was when we went home and had to take away the bag of candy and put on PJ's.

Jagger was a cute little pumpkin, he and Grandma spent a quiet night together just hanging out while Brent and I took Jaxon out.
We had a fun time this year and ended up with way too much candy, I'm just glad Jaxon doesn't really know what it is yet.

He Has Arrived!!!

We are happy to finally have our newest addition to our family here with us. Jagger was born at 11:19pm on the 12th, he was 8lbs. 7oz. and 21 1/4 inches long. Lucky for Mom it was a fairly quick labor and delivery. We all agree that he looks a lot like his big brother Jaxon. Jaxon has adjusted well to having Jagger at home, but he was a little wary when he came to meet Jagger for the first time at the hospital, but he seems to have warmed up to him. Here are a few pictures of Jagger's first few days.

1 1/2 Years!!!

That's right Jaxon is now 1 1/2 years old, time just flew by. He is so much fun and is constantly keeping us laughing. He had a rough time at the doctor's office for his check up, granted he only had a 30min. nap right before, so it was understandable. Good news, he is very healthy and growing, height: 32inches, weight:25lbs. He only had to get 3 shots this time but of course just like his mom he hated it. He was a trooper though and once it was over he was ready to go and was telling everyone and everything bye.

He already wants to be just like his Daddy, but really who can blame him, he does have a pretty great Dad.
He likes to relax and have his afternoon snack while watching some cartoons.

Things Jaxon is doing these days:

Words he can say:

Bye-bye, Daddy, Mama, Payton, Cat, Dog, Milk, Nana=Banana, Side=Outside, BauBau=Potty/bathroom, Pe=Pears, Peesh=Peaches, and Uh-oh

Animal noises he can make:

Cat, Cow, Dog, Snake, Fish, Elephant, Lion, Sheep, Monkey, and Dinosaur

He can point to his:

Eyes, Ears, Mouth, Teeth, Tongue, Head, Hair, Tummy, and Toes

He also shakes his head for yes and no, but doesn't say either one.

He and Daddy have recently started to build little forts in the house and he loves to play in them, he loves to play with this cars, blocks, and to play outside. If you ask he will show you his muscles by flexing and giving you a little grunt. He is a big helper and helps to clean up his toys and books before bed. He loves to brush his teeth and to wash his hands. He has discovered that the shower is a fun place to play and I think he prefers a shower to a bath now, but he still love to play in the bath, just not having to lay down in the water. He likes to watch Curious George and the Cat in the Hat on PBS Kids after his nap. The can turn the TV on all by himself, with the remote, he can also turn on Mom's computer all by himself even though he isn't suppose to. He loves to play and seems to have a big imagination, he likes to sit under chairs and pretend that he is driving. He loves to make car noises. He is so full of energy and is constantly on the go but occasionally he will take a break to sit back and read through his books and snuggle up with mom, but then is back on his feet running all over the house. He is such a fun little boy we are so happy to have him in our little family and look forward to seeing how he likes being a big brother, hopefully in the next few days.
