Practice Makes Perfect

Ever since Granna and Grandpa Smith gave the girls their new crayons Aspen has been coloring almost every day. She has been working very hard on staying in the lines. I can't believe how well she is suddenly doing! She went from coloring all over the whole page to paying very close attention to the shapes and objects on the page while she colors.
This is the picture she colored today and wants to save to bring to Granna!

Easter Dress

This year I finally got ambitious enough to make the girls Easter Dresses. I was nervous because they consisted of my first button holes and zipper! But they turned out cute and the girls loved picking out their fabric and patters! Aspen really wanted a 'big girl dress down to Snow White'. Which means she wanted a dress more fitted around the bodice and almost down to her toes in length. She is such a funny girl, and a very GIRLY girl! She loves her new pink fancy dress.
PS I am very please how these dresses held up through the day, these pictures were taken after Church, nap time, dinner time and dessert (jello-poke cake!)
The girls where having a good time posing for me on the bench and it turned into a dance party. They are jumping from foot to foot just laughing as hard as they can. It was so cute.

I thought I would finish this post off with Ella's newest 'picture face'. When she sees the camera she now has to say 'CHEESE' like big sister and this is the resulting face. So, plan on seeing it around!

Coloring Eggs

Aspen and I had a great time coloring eggs. Aspen picked the colors and helped me lower them into the dyes. Then when they were all dry she put silly faces on all of them. Our Egg Family
This is where Ella got stuck with a snack while Aspen and I dyed eggs because she kept trying to climb onto the table! Our Eggs become part of Easter dinner as our deviled eggs, YUM!

Saturday "Happy Easter Bunny Day!"

We have a visit from the Easter Bunny on the Saturday before Easter so he dosn't take away from our focus on Christ on Easter Sunday and so the kids aren't hyped up on candy before church! He come over night and the girls got up around 8 to search for their baskets. Dane has a basket also but slept a few more hours that morning and declined having any pictures taken :)

5 Years!

Yesterday was mine and Brent's 5 year wedding anniversary. Some days I can't believe how fast time has gone and others it seems like we've been together forever (in a good way!) Here's a quick rundown on what our first 5 yrs of marriage have been filled with.

2004-Our First year!
We sold our house in Lindon and moved to a tiny house in American Fork as an interim place.
Visited Florida on our 6 month Anniversary and decided to move there-went Apt searching and found one we liked!
At the end of the year we discovered and lost our first pregnancy.
2005
January we made the big move from Utah County to SW Florida
We had our first beautiful daughter Aspen on Aug 26th
Brent was called as Scout Master and Sara 1st counselor in the Primary Presidency
Oct we experienced our first Hurricane-we were without power for 4 days.
2006
Pretty uneventful year until Nov when we started discussing moving to Missouri-job/house hunting and everything
Brent got a new job offer in Fort Myers so we stayed
2007
January we took in Dane (15 yrs) on a temporary basis
Moved across the river form Fort Myers to Cape Coral
Brent now YM pres in new ward and Sara 2nd counselor in Primary
Aug Brent's parents bought a house in Cape Coral
Nov had our second beautiful daughter Ella Mae
2008
We became Dane's permanent guardians
Sara became Primary President (Brent still YM's)
Brent-due to mortgage market-made a career change to sell Health Insurance
2009
So far everything has pretty uneventful, but great!

What wonderful 5 years they have been!

These are the flowers Brent surprised me with. We dropped the girls of at Grandpa's and went to dinner just the two of us at Kumo's-a hibachi grill restaurant. While we were there we met one couple celebrating their 31 anniversary and we shared our table with a couple and their two children celebrating their 15th anniversary!
