Beautiful

Hello all and welcome to my blog and the second month of 2016. Yes January is over already and if you are like me you will be wondering where it has gone. I was in hope that this year would go a little slower but looks like those hopes have been dashed already.

Today I would like to show you a layout I have created for the first challenge for February over it Let's Get Sketchy.  The new Design Team ladies along with us oldies have some great creations posted to go with the sketch and hopefully give you some inspiration. We get a chance to see your creations and just maybe you can win an awesome prize or you might even bee lucky to be one of Let's Get Sketchy Featured Artists.

For now though the sketch followed by my take on it.

Yes a photo of me this time and from some years ago. It was taken in my Grandpas garden. I just love this page as I was lucky enough to get the Ultimate Crafts - Magnolia Lane patterned papers by Sue Smyth. Sue has designed the most beautiful papers in colour and design. I'm a huge lover of fussy cutting as you would know and these gorgeous papers are perfect for that. They have my favorite things on them, flowers and butterflies.

As you can see in this photo the flowers and butterflies have been fussy cut. I used a Kaisercraft clear stamp - Stains and the ink is Distress Ink - Gathered Twigs which is also what I inked the edges of the papers with.

The spray I have used is Irresistible Texture Spray - Tuxedo Black and Wedding Dress.

The plywood title is by The Craft Stall and I coloured it with a pink Copic and then over that I used Viva Croco Cracking - White. The letter B was fussy cut from the patterned papers and I coloured the white sections with the pink Copic.

I hope you have enjoyed my page with these beautiful Magnolia Lane papers and that I have inspired you enough to call over to the Let's Get Sketchy blog and join in the fun.
Thank you for stopping by, happy crafting.

Lovely

Yes it is February and we have already left behind one month for 2016. This means the new challenge is live over at 123 Challenge blog. For some very lucky crafty friends you may win a wonderful prize or maybe become a guest designer for next month and join the rest of the design team. So please hop on over to the 123 Challenge Blog for more inspiration from the design team and join in the fun.
Now for the challenge and my page.

Colour: Red

Word: Lovely

Technique: Hearts

This page is of my mum and Harley and I treasure every picture I have of her and also my boys. The title of this page was perfect because not only was my mum a lovely person but it was always lovely to see her with the boys.

I created my layout on Kaisercrafts patterned paper - Hello Today Collection. In my back ground I also used the following -
Kaisercraft Clear Stamp - Crackle
Kaisercraft Mist Spray - Red
Dylusions Ink Spray - Postbox Red

TCW Stencil - Fleur de Lis
Ranger Archival Ink - Jet Black
Modeling Paste
Distress Ink - Stormy Sky

I love these flowers, they are just beautiful and the colour of them is perfect for the challenge :)

The flowers are from the Petaloo Botanica Collection and Chantilly Collection. The cute little red hearts, another challenge requirement (Hearts) are by DIY Invitations. Peeking out from behind the photo are gold paper doily's. My plywood title is by Craft Stalls and I have coloured it with a red Copic. My final little embellishment is a Prima Water Tap from the Junkyard Findings Collectibles.

I hope you have enjoyed calling to my blog and just maybe I have been able to give you a little inspiration on the challenge. Please call over to the 123 Challenge Blog and join in the fun, we would love to see you. Happy Crafting.

Special Moments

Hello crafty friends and as always welcome to my blog. For this post I would like to show you my design team layout for Let's Get Sketchy. As always over at the Let's Get Sketchy blog you can find all the sketches for this month and some awesome creative pages by the rest of the design team.

And now for my take on the great sketch. My layout picture is my youngest son Harley, my eldest son Riley and myself. There is nothing better than getting some love from my boys.

To create my page I chose to use Kaisercraft's white Cardstock and their Secret Garden Collection.

To create the background I used -
Kaisercraft Mist Spray - Pink
Distress Spray Stain - Iced Spruce & Peeled Paint
Distress Ink - Gather Twigs (on stamp & to ink patterned papers)
Kaisercraft Clear Stamp - Grid

The flower has been fussy cut from the patterned papers and the words are from the Kaiercraft sticker sheet. They go with the bla bla bla on the sketch :)

The heart chippie I coloured with a Copic - Lipstick Natural and then put Viva Croco Cracking - White. My title is a Dusty Attic Chippie which I coloured the same as the hear then when dry and crackling was finished I went lightly over again with the Copic.

For this final photo I have used some of the spray ink, patterned paper, fussy cut flower and Kaisercrafts Mini Numbers Stickers for the date.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my page and thank you so much for calling over to my blog. I loved having you stop in. Please call to the Let's Get Sketchy blog (which you can do my clicking on this link or the one at the right sidebar) and join in two of the challenge sketches and be in the running for an awesome prize.

Happy Crafting. xxx

Mini Album

Hello everyone welcome again to my blog. I would like to show you my latest creation for Meg's Garden Blog and the beautiful products I have used.
I have created a Mini Album with some beautiful papers and embellishments. I have given it to a friend for Christmas and she just loved it. She will be putting photo's of her Grandmother in it.

The beautiful patterned papers I used on this Mini Album are Cafe au Lait Mini Papercrafter pack.
I just love these papers as they have a wonderful vintage look to them.
I used a die for the flourish and the words With Love, cut from pink cardstock. The flowers on the cover are Fantasy Blooms - Rose and the elegant lace is a 5cm white - L2864. I inked the edge of the patterned paper with Distress Ink - Gathered Twigs as it has an aged antique look.

On these two pages I used Fantasy Blooms - Rust flowers and the Velvet Carabella Rose Posy - Cream. I also used the Old World Time Clocks. I love this sheet of clocks as there is a great variety. The small rectangular Parisian Frame coloured with a Copic has an old world look about it so I chose to use the elegant picture from the beautiful beauty's range.

For this page I decided to create some tags so my friend can write on them with the details of the photo she chooses to use. To make the holding pocket and tags I placed the patterned papers on black cardstock.

I just love the Butterfly Transparency A4 sheets. The butterflies are just beautiful on any creation and with the one I have used on here the corner can still be lifted to put the photo under the corner.
The Moccha Paper Flower comes in a 2pk and I love the apricot colour of it, it is just beautiful in keeping with the vintage feel of the album.

I love the vintage elegance of this page and i have used a variety of flowers on it.

I used a mix of Fantasy Blooms, Rue White, Silk and Organza Primula - Black/grey and Ivory blooms on both the pages. The mini square 10cm doily and the Strips (Straight doily) were both coloured with Distress Ink - Stormy Sky.

This page is male vintage and every album should have a male vintage page :) Again I have used tags so a small amount of journal work can be done on it. I love the blacks and creams.

I again used the Old World Time clocks but chose to use the black and white in keeping with the other colours. I also used a little washi tape.

This time I chose to go with an oval photo mount and again some beautiful flowers.

The flowers are Fantasy Blooms - Beige and Velvet Flowers Carabella Rose Posy - Cream. The fame is oval and matches well with the oval photo mount. I have coloured it with a copic. I have used Cream burlap on the left side and on the right is Coffee mesh Ribbon.  The cherub is made with a resin mold and they are loads of fun to make.

For this page the photo mount is for a very small snapshot and in the opposite page I have created a pocket with three tags for journalling.

The beautiful Cafe au Lait Mini Papercrafter pack have stunning embellishments like the tickets and tags that I have fussy cut out. The white Love Heart doily's I think are fantastic and use a lot of them. This one I have have inked with Distress Ink - Walnut Stain in keeping with the old vintage look. At the corner of the photo mount I have used another of the Transparency Butterflies

Again the I have used the Fantasy Blooms - Teal and I love this colour so much. It reminds me of my mum as she would love this colour.

Again I have used the clocks and just a touch here and there of Liquid Pearls. The lace I chose for this page is so elegant and is 1.6cm white lace - L2920. On the right hand side patterned paper I decided to do some stitching around the edge.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my mini Album and that I have been able to inspire you just a little. The products, flowers and beautiful patterned papers are all available at Megs Garden Store along with many other products.
Please keep calling back to see what the rest of the Design Team have been creating and for when my next post goes live. Until then though, happy crafting.

Together

Hello everyone and welcome to my first design team post for 2016. It is wonderful to be back and doing what I love at the same time as having a wonderful holiday season with my beautiful boys.

My post today is for 123 Challenge Blog and what a great one it is. Just like last year there are three requirements and to be eligible for a wonderful prize or to be guest DT you MUST use all three requirement. How easy is that? You design your own layout add three things and wella your there on the blog with all of us.
When you go to the 123 Challenge Blog you will see different ways to use the requirements, different shades of the colour, different uses of the word and different ways to use the technique. Along with the other designers we hope we are able to inspire you.

 Colour: Yellow
Word: Together
Technique: Texture

Here is a look at my creation, closeups and product details. The photo is one of my Grandfather and his ventriloquist doll (Friend & Companion).

For my layout I chose to use a light yellow so tie in with the background of my photo better. Plus my Grandpa was not a man surrounded in bright colours so much as just many colours. He was a very colourful person being a gardener with fields of beautiful flowers and some wonderful ones he bread himself and sold all over the world.
Anyway enough of that and on with my design. I will just list my products so there is not so much to for you to read.

Patterned Paper - Websters & Cosmo Cricket
Texture Paste
Distress Ink - Wild Honey & Gathered Twigs
Prima Stars Stencil
TCW Stencil - Chicken Wire
Kaiser Rubon - Friends quotes

Kaiser Alpha Mini Letters
Dusty Attic chippie - Togeher
Ranger Disttress Marker - Mustard Seed (To colour chippie)
Glossy Accents
Staedtler fine line marker (used around stars)

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my layout and I thank you for calling in.love to all and never forget to tell those you love how much they mean. I hope your mojo flows and I look forward to seeing you at 123 Challenge Blog.  xxx
