Birthday Boy

Hello my crafty friends and welcome to my blog. Today I would like to show you a layout I have created for my DT Post over at Let's Get Sketchy Blog. As we all know that to join in the fun you get to use a great sketch and this month is no different. I loved this sketch a real lot and I'm sure you will too. Please call to the blog and see what the other DT members have created for inspiration. They are all stunning designs.

Now for my take on the sketch.

The photo is of my very handsome son Harley at his 7th Birthday, I just can't believe that he will in a couple of months turning 12. Wow where have the 5 years gone.

I created the layout on Kaisercraft White Cardstock and for my background I used Mister Huey's Color Mists - Heirloom Blue, Sherbet and Real Red. The stencil is by TCW - Chicken Wire with modeling paste. The stamp is by Kaisercraft - Arty and I used Distress Ink Black Soot. The final thing on my background is Viva Inks Gold - Oldgold over some of the stencil.

My Birthday Boy Chippie is by WOW and I have coloured it with a Copic - GB09 Blue Green. The other words are by Scrapmatts Chippies - CB1197 Scrap Words 05.

I hope you have enjoyed my layout and the closeups and don't forget to hop on over to the
Let's Get Sketchy  Blog and join in the fun, maybe win a prize. I look forward to seeing your creation and take on the sketch.

You Make Me Happy

Hello everyone and welcome to my DT blog post for 123 Challenge Blogs November challenge. We have another awesome challenge and being so close to Christmas this might just be the right time for you to join in and maybe get yourself a wonderful extra present. Remember though you have to follow the 3 requirements to be in the running. Yes....Its as easy as that.

All you have to do is make sure your layout is NAVY, has the word HAPPY somewhere on it and the final on is you must use ROLLED PAPER.

Now for my take on the challenge and remember to hop on over to the 123 Challenge Blog, have a look at what the rest of the wonderfully talented design time have been up and I hope we can inspire you to join in this month.

This layout is of my very handsome youngest son Harley and myself. I just adore this boy of mine and his beautiful nature. My boys are as different as chalk and cheese and Harley is my devil child but also funny, caring and my cuddle bug.

I created my layout on Little Yellow Bicycle Inc - Vintage Summer patterned paper. Over that I used a torn sheet of KaiserCraft  Cardstock - Coconut and I inked the edge with Distress Ink - Faded Jeans. On my page you can clearly see the colour required - NAVY, my rolled paper is navy paper I have rolled and glued at two corners of the photo against my flower cluster. My word required HAPPY is in the title

To make the reading a little easier I will list the products I have used with my closeups.

Actress - Louise Brooks

Hello crafty friends and welcome as always to my blog. I would like to show you a page created for my DT post over at Let's Get Sketchy. Starting this month there is a little change at the LGS blog. Next in the red is how the challenges will run. It isn't that complicated so if you find it a bit confusing on my blog then don't stress just pop over to the LGS Blog, check out what the other designers have created and you will understand. Join in the fun to be in the running for a wonderful prize.

Let's Get Sketchy Post............
We are trying something new here at LGS.  Starting this month we will be bringing you 2 fabulous mood boards to accompany your sketches.  Team A will reveal their mood board challenges during week 1 and Team B during week 3.  You are to use the mood board AND sketch for that week's layout.  The mood board is for that week's sketch only!!  So you will have 2 moodboards plus sketch each month and 2 regular sketch challenges (without boards).

Now for the mood board, sketch and my take on the challenge.

I chose to use a photo of actress Louise Brooks from 1927 to create my layout. I loved the photo of her and felt it went so well with the Graphic 45 patterned papers - Couture Collection. These Graphic 45 papers were perfect for the Mood Board.

To create my background I used Kaisercrafts Clear Stamp - Script with Distress Ink - Gathered Twigs. For the splatters I used Irresistible Texture Spray - Tuxedo Black, Distress Spray Stain - Broken China and Perfect Pearls Mist - Perfect Copper.

The beautiful elegant ladies have been fussy cut from the patterned papers and the Patterned papers behind the photo have the edges inked with Archival Ink - Jet Black.

I created the page on Kaiser White Cardstock and used black cardstock and Kaisers alpha Die for the name and the word Actress is Kaisers Mini Alpha Sticker letter.

I hope you have enjoyed the closeups of my layout for the first Sketch/Mood Board Challenge over at Let's Get Sketchy. We would love it if you called over to the blog, had a look at the other creations from the extremely talented DT. With the juices flowing then join in the fun with your very own creation.
