Gracie's 1st Diamondbacks Game
April 27th we took Grace to her first Diamondbacks game! Thankfully Ron was able to get us great seats before he retired! Grace skipped her afternoon nap and was a cranky baby on the drive to the ballpark. Once we got there she was excited by everything new. Then Jon got her to sleep and she got a pretty good nap in. Once she woke up we introduced her to caramel apples and all the fun that is a baseball game! She loved all the music and danced every time they played any. She would cheer with the crowd and really had a fun time. We even got to enjoy it with The McKinnons. The people sitting next to us left early so they came and sat by us. Derrick loved seeing the players and tried some practice swings from his seat. It ended up being a fun night despite our rough start!
Spring Ballet Recital
Emma had her 2nd annual Spring Ballet recital on April 20th. She was an Arabian Dancer this year and I loved watching her dance in this role. She was so beautiful and I couldn't believe how grown up she looked. I'm so glad she is enjoying ballet.
Random April
April started out with me getting Bronchitis! NOT FUN! It was the most sick I think I have ever been! Jon and I had been planning date night all week and I desperately needed it after taking care of sick kids for weeks. I started feeling pretty yucky on Friday, but I was determined to go out on our date. I realized I had a fever right before we left that night and my voice was pretty much non-existent! But I sucked it up and we went out to dinner and had a fun night with Jon's family. The next morning I realized I probably shouldn't have gone out. I drove myself to urgent care and found out the diagnosis. The next 2 days I was in bed with very little recollection of what happened in the rest of my house. Thank goodness for an amazing husband who took care of me and the kids. I watched a lot of Downton Abbey. (Big mistake by the way...hated the ending of the 3rd season! Ridiculous waste of time!) After I finally felt better the month carried on. Grace got her molars in (that part wasn't fun!), Emma was chosen to participate in her school art show for the second time, the kids flew a kite with dad, we got to meet Sam (Mark's fiance), and Grace finally started taking a few steps! (Although I wouldn't say she actually was a "walker" until about 16 months, the little stinker!) Grace and I had some fun lunch dates with just her and I and with Travin, and she loves to look outside at the birds. Every new stage is fun to see her grow in. Happy April, thank goodness it's over!
Easter
Easter was not so great around our house. I guess that's what we get for having a birthday party at Peter Piper Pizza. All the kids got sick! Sinus infection, croup, fevers, vomiting! We had it all! We managed to still color eggs, but we did not make it to church on Easter Sunday. We watched several hours of The Bible miniseries. It was pretty good. By Sunday night Grace just wanted to run around in her diaper. Hey, if she was naked and happy I was ok with that. Poor girl! I remember as a kid I was sick on Easter a lot. I hope my kids don't follow in my footsteps!
