Welcome the year of rabbit
It's the first time I am putting up CNY decorations and I am feeling soooo excited. Well, I do help my mum previously, but it is a totally different feeling altogether when you are doing it FOR OUR OWN HOME!!!

Snacking
Heard from Ms Noelle about this lychee flavoured pocky at first. Saw it at one of the confectionery shop near my place and decided to give it a try.
They actually had one in Blueberry flavour but I think I will get a tongue leashing from Hubby if I were to get that too. Next time perhaps.

Happy things
Met up with mama this afternoon for lunch and to buy bakkwa.
We walked around Chinatown and bought some decorative stuff for the house to welcome the year of the rabbit.
There was a real big statue of God of Fortune at the place we bought these decorations and there are 4 digits pasted on the statue. Told mama that we should buy 4D, she agreed and even said that if we really strike it big, we will come back and buy more decorations.
This set of number really came out in today's 4D!!!! But only in consolation prize and not in the same permutation as the number somemore. Sigh.
Mama supposed to come to my place to look at the photos of my wedding day, but she needs to go singing so next week perhaps. :)
Reached home at around 5pm to wait for dear dear to come home from tuition. Received a sms from my sec sch friend whose niece happened to be studying in the school I am teaching in. She was punished by another teacher the other day for not completing her homework.
She was made to stay back and finish up the work. When she came back to the stuff room to hand in her work, I spoke to her and told her to be good.
She smsed her auntie (ie my classmate) subsequently and asked this friend of mine if she can asked me on her behalf to recommend some assessment books for her.
The family jumped with joy for all along, she has been pretty rebellious and has not once taken the initiative of wanting to learn.
I am happy not because I changed the girl. I am happy because I feel that I have touched someone's life.
I was sharing with my colleague on the first day of school. A lot of people would be dragging their feet to work after a long weekend because it is back to the monotonous work again. But as teachers, the 1st day is always exciting and worth looking forward to. Meeting new classes or even if you are taking back the same class as the previous year, all of them seemed to have grow quite a bit.
I want to thank my friend for sharing her niece's sms with me. Little things like these brightened up my day. :)

All started well and ended well today, better than I had expected at least.
IP meeting tomorrow.
Meeting Ms Toh for dinner and having her over to my place on Thursday.
Non-IP meeting on Friday followed by a treat by our CL HOD to celebrate the start of work.

Well, 5 long weekends from Public holidays + 2 long weekends (Teacher's Day and Children's Day).

Welcome 2011
Ya, I know, it's a bit late to post only today. But yesterday hubby's friends came over so there is no time to post.
Resolutions for this year:
- As a teacher, I aim to be more of an encouraging but firm teacher, rather than just to be known as very stern (or rather, fierce).
- As a daughter, I aim to spend more time with my mother and be a better daughter so that she doesn't have to worry so much about me.
- As a wife, [read the other blog].
- Overall, as a person, I aim to be more sensitive with my words and really think through and use the appropriate words before I speak up, so that I would not hurt people unintentionally.
Wishes for this year:
- Career path to be smooth, no big hiccups.
- Family members to be healthy and happy.
- More money to roll in (any methods, from pay increment to tio toto/4D/Big Sweep/etc).
