Went to the Dr.'s office this AM for blood work and I think everyone there had the 'de Bug....

The guru's predict freezing rain and snow...

We get sun..

My laptop gets fixed...

and now it connects to the internet only when it wants too...

My dogs get two meals a day and lots of treats...

Mia would rather eat paper and dirt...

after I get fully dressed with the coat, gloves, scarf and hat

my bra strap slips off my shoulder....??

We knew it was in the Atlanta area 'cause the FemaleChild sends it to us...

the bestest BBQ sauce in the world....made in West Palm Beach...

But...

Friends found it in a Publix outside of Charlotte..!!!

Update on flu front.....we're all on the mend...I even went to work yesterday...

We're Dropping Like Flies....

Mom's got it....my brother's got it...my SIL's got it....the MaleChild's got it...CityBoy is on the edge with a sore throat and I think Dad is hiding in the basement...

And to top it all off....we all seem to have different strains of this flu bug...!

That's what we get for always eating Sunday dinner together....

That was my mind-set when i walked into the quilt shop on Monday....

For a kid that learned to quilt using feed sacks and old clothes...

Whose quilts for much of my quilting life has been Thimbleberries or Civil War reprints....

Suddenly....

I want color....!

The orange/yellow/pinks were inspired by a small quilt in the shop made with a pattern named Brick Yard by Bear Hug...

I couldn't stop looking at that colorful little quilt...

Sooooo

I found the pattern and off to the sale table i when...

the fabric is not the same used for the little beauty...

But....

It's close...they were on the 75% off rack....and i loved the colors....

The table runner was at the check out desk and i threw it in at the last minute...

it used up my gift certificate and it has lots of COLOR..!!

When it's done it will go in the gift basket...

and will be a gift of color for some lucky person..

 

Now I just need to finish "Black Tie Christmas"(pictures soon)  the project I'm working on now and then it's on to COLOR...!! Color...!!...color..!!!

Field Trip...!!

Yesterday, Mom and I went to the big city of Boone...

What's the deal? you ask....

It was her first adventure of any distance since she was in the hospital....

And she "had" to get shoes....!!

We planned on making a quick trip...so...we went without her oxygen but we did take the walker....

Walked the mall a little bit (had to find the restroom)...

then found two pair of shoes with hard soles....these are to wear with her new ankle brace she gets on Thursday.....went to lunch and then stopped at the quilt store on the way out of town....

That gift certificate was burning a hole in my wallet...

I was a good girl and only went $6.95 over the certificate amount...

"More fabric to play with!!"

It was quick...it was fun...and I'm sure it tired her out....

Naps...

I've never been a nap person...

Even as a baby I disliked naps....."rest time" in 1st grade (didn't have K when I was young) was always the worst part of the day...

When my kids were babies I never napped while they napped..

 

But

Lately an afternoon nap has been sneaking into  my routine...

Maybe it's the dark damp depressing weather...

Maybe it's my Kindle..i've always read a book before going to sleep.

Maybe this virus still has a few claws in me..

Nope...

I think there are 3 outside sources dropping hints...

..that my laptop and i would both catch a virus....!

We've both been in bed with a nasty bug since Monday afternoon....

My computer is all better and coming home today..

I'm gonna try going to work....thank goodness my work day is only 4 hours.

I think I can do it....I think i can....I think i can....

I think my computer has a virus....!

So we're off to the computer ER for a check up...

I keep getting a pop-up window that is telling me a virus has been detected...

however....

when i click on the window to solve the problem it sends me to a page trying to get me to buy more anitvirus software.....

It's finally become sooooo annoying ......!!

If you don't hear from for a few days you'll know the laptop had to be admitted for further testing...

Yep...that's CityBoy returning home from the gym...he's already walked 2 miles this morning and I've barely got my eyes open.  Going to the gym at 5:30am is something he does at least 5 days out of the week.  I like sleeping better.....
