We're Ready......

...all the new info/directional signs are in.......the campgrounds are in tip-top shape.....the new group sites are ready and the new pit toilet is stocked with paper.....

Sooooo....it seems we're ready for the unofficial official opening of camping season this weekend...

Why this weekend...??

This weekend is the opening of trout season here in the high country and this seems to bring the campers out of the towns...cities.....woods....burgs.....boros.....high raises....and/or valleys....

And as usual...... snow is predicted for this weekend...!!

Hey!......All you fisher people.....if your heading for the mountains this weekend....

Exhausted......

We fought the weather and the weather won...!!
But....not until we made it home....

Left Atlanta under tornado watch and flash flood rain....
Played tag with storms all the way back home...
And now the bottom has fallen out here in the high country....
Snow with freezing rain, plus fog is happening outside my windows....

Decided that going to work is out of the question.......i can't see the roads.....and haven't seen a car since i got up.......schools are closed (even for the MaleChild) and the local DJ is saying...."stay home!!"

Anyway......

We had a great time in Atlanta....
Only went to three quilt shops......spent several hours at Hobby Lobby.....visited a brand new WalMart.....watched the youngest GS play baseball.....soooo cute....!!
(Totally off the diabetic diet......yes diabetic!!...just found out last Tuesday....)

And we laughed.....laughed.....laughed....!!

May go back soon for the oldest GS's Boy Scout Eagle ceremony.....but....MaleChild is graduating with his AA degree on May 17th....

We'll see!

ps........the vet could not find anything wrong with Max's tail and it's on the way back up curling over his back.......sooooo...."tail droop" is still a mystery....

Houston.....We Have a Problem.......

Yes.....we've got a problem....

Our little Max....who's tail usually curls up on his back, like a question mark.....has got a case of the "tail dropsy"

I came home last Friday and noticed that his rear-end wasn't it's normal perky self....

He's eating...running...barking...peeing....pooping...jumping....hopping up and down....chasing the cat and/or birds...being nasty to his sister.....just like always....

But....his tail is drooping.....he shows no sign of discomfort and will let us touch the area at the base of his tail....

Could this be mystery "tail drop" syndrome...??

Has anyone got an idea what this could be...?

The female parental unit and i are gonna try to drive it..with out going on any of the downtown Atlanta interstates.....!!

Here we go again......

...another few days of rainy weather....!!

It's Monday my favorite day of the week....

Today CityBoy and i have already....

Had his tire fixed..
I've been to the hospital to have blood drawn...
Been to the insurance office for a five year review on the home owners policy...
And made a stop at the feed store for deer corn....

Whoa Mama....it's not even 10:00am yet.....

Now i just have the cleaning...laundry.....etc....etc....
left on my schedule for the day.....

Telling Time....

These are the faces that woke me at 8:05 am this morning.....
I was sooooo excited......they let me sleep in....!!

Then i realized we set the clocks froward last night ..one hour....
So on fur baby time it was 7:05 on a beautiful Sunday morning and they were right on schedule....

Questions of the day.......

Do fur-babies understand the concept of "Daylight Savings Time"..?

Should i buy them digital cuff watches for their right front legs....??

Do they care...?

....No!!!!......the sun is out....!!......time for mommy to be up.....!!

Gotta start working on that fall back thing coming soon.....

We need to all come together and form a massive prayer chain for the good ole' USA...
How much more can she endure without Divine Intervention....??

Home From the Techno Hospital.....

"Lappy is Home!"

The call came yesterday morning that she was ready....she had been cured....

So i left work an hour early...so i would make it before the 5pm closing time....'

(couldn't handle another night of ..... well, you know)

There she was ....waiting for me behind the counter...close to the front door.....

The techno guru said...."found over 900 bug-a-boos on this thing....it's a wonder it didn't croak.."

What my baby "crash and burn".... "deader than a door nail".....

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...!! (insert crying and tearing hair out... here)

I love this little gadget almost as much as i love my 4x4 Ford truck....!!!

Welll.....anyway she now has 4 new programs to keep her safe.....

She's now protected from......viruses.....spys......bots.....gigs....migs.......power outage....power surge.....eating bad food.....nasal congestion.....weepy eyes......irritations of the skin.....migrains.....head colds....and child birth......

We've got a Virus......

On the way into town yesterday, we dropped off Lappy, the computer, for a check-up.....she's been running a little slow lately.....

Later in the afternoon the computer guru called to say that Lappy had been inundated with viruses....and that we had no spy ware installed....

Yikes....Mama....!!

So all afternoon and into the evening CityBoy and I paced the floor.....'cause when TV is in the rerun mode or there's just nothing of interest to watch on the 200 and some-odd channels.....

We play on the the computer.....

Ohhhhhh Man ....the computers gone....!!!

We could have gone downstairs to the office and used the big PC...but....that sounded like to much trouble.......

Can you say "Spoiled".....

I broke out a new book and he went to bed....such is life....

Hope to get Lappy back today....!!!

Big Decision.....

This was the best picture i could find of the gully down the middle of our bed....

If we are remembering correctly the mattress is about 15 years old....!!

Can anyone tell me why "the Dip" in a bed is always in the middle ...when you and your spouse sleep on the sides....

Do the dogs and/or cats in your home weigh enough to create that low spot...!!??

We've only had Max, Mia and Misskitty since we've been in the high country and we brought the bed with us from Florida.....

Did the humidity in FL have a hand in making the slopes...?

Anyway.......the tax refund came in the mail yesterday and today we're off to buy a new bed.......one without a depressed middle......

Should we take the 3M's with us.....so they can test the softness or firmness and have a vote in the decision.......after all they nap/sleep on it too......

How much rain did we get....??

This is the little creek that's about 1/4 mile from the Twelve Acre Wood on the SW corner of the property.......on a "normal" day we can hear it ...but...not see it......on a "normal" day the depth maybe....maybe....8-10 inches.....

As you can see......yesterday was "not" a normal day....!!

Then by mid-afternoon......this was the view out my window at work.....
We had about 4" of the white stuff within two hours.....!!!.....Yikes....!!

Yep.....i'm back at my little desk in front of the big window looking out onto the main entrance of the Park....

It's a beautiful day out there....but.....cold....

Winter temps have returned to the high country..... it was tough getting up this AM..after hearing the DJ on the radio say it's a blustery 29* out there folks...!!
