4 Weeks Old!!

Four Weeks Old!!!
My little boy is now 4 weeks old! We went to the Doctor's again today for a weight check and to schedule a sleep study! Baden now weighs 9 lbs!!!! Wait I want this one to stay little why am I so happy? Okay I am happy that he is growing but what am I going to do when he is 5 years old and heads out the door to Kindergarten?

They (I am not sure who that is) are going to call us and set up a sleep study. They will take off his oxygen and put him on another monitor for the night and see how his levels are with out the oxygen. If he can keep them up in the 90% then they will take him off! YEAH!!! If not we will stay on :( For now they have turned the oxygen down to 1/32 of a liter. So all in all it was a good visit!

Oh wait now I is when I tell you that Olivia saw the doctor today as well. She had and x-ray done on her knee about 2 weeks ago. We noticed that her knee looked funny and swollen. Well the x-ray came back normal but the Doctor said that there is fluid on the knee. So we have been watching it for the last couple of weeks. Yesterday I noticed that she has started to limp. She also favors that knee alot more so today we scheduled an MRI for Sept 2nd. Since she is so little and young they will have to sedate her in order to do the MRI. I just hope that they find out what is wrong with her knee.

I have a Doctors appointment on the 8th. Glen has 2 Doctors appointments on the 10th and both of us are looking to set up surgery dates at these appointments. Did I mention that we have hit the max on our insurance? I told CJ that if he was going to break an arm or leg or ANYTHING else he should plan to do it before Dec 31st so we don't have to pay for it. Oh the joys of 1/2 a dozen kids!

2 weeks!!!! (plus a few days)

Baden came home on Tuesday!!!!!! We were all excited to have Baden leave UVRMC after 12 days of Doctors and Nurses to watch over him! He came home on just 1/16 of a liter of oxygen, and a monitor which will tell us if he stops breathing or if his heart stops or goes to fast.

.
Waiting for the Dr to let us go!!

Kayla and Olivia get a turn!

We went to Doctors on Friday for his 2 week visit. Everything looked really good. His starting weight on their scale is 7lbs 3oz. And he was 20 inches long (yep I know he shrunk) He has another Doctors appointment on Wednesday! The Doctor said that he would be on oxygen until he is a month old and then we are going to do a sleep study to see if he can come off of that!

First Doctor's appointment!!!

We have ventured out a few times and let me tell you it is a lot harder and more time consuming to get him ready to go. You have to make sure the monitor is ready to go and then you have to switch his oxygen from him home tank to the travel tank and then get him in the car seat and everything else. The monitor and the oxygen tank weigh more then he does.

We are hoping to bless him the first week in September. It will all depend on if he can come off the oxygen. I really want to get some pictures of him done but I am waiting for the oxygen to come off, But I am thinking maybe I shouldn't the oxygen is part of who he is and why he is here so early, so who knows what we will do. But for now here are some pictures off the home camera! (if I can get it to work)

BADEN ISAIAH MATTHEW PRATT

Coming into this world 5 weeks early and weighing 6 lbs 9 oz we introduce to you our newest Son Baden Isaiah Matthew Pratt. Baden made his grand entrance on July 30th 2009. Being so early his lungs were not quite ready. So they took him to the Nursery to put him on a C-pap machine. Well about 11 hours after being born he had improved a little bit but was not ready to breathe on his own. So the Doctors decided that he needed more help so they transported him to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. To do this they had to put him on a ventilator. So at 3:34 am they took him by ambulance.

He has now come off the ventilator and is back on the c-pap machine. He had developed pneumonia. He is on antibiotics and has about 4 more days of that. I went to see him this morning and he is doing better. He is almost off the c-pap machine. They hope to let him try to breathe by himself starting maybe tonight but most likely tomorrow. I can't wait until he is off because I will get to hold him. I have read blogs about babies and how their mom's didn't get to hold them until they were days even weeks old. I knew it must be hard for them. Well being in their shoes I understand just how hard it is.
I will end this with a few pictures of our sweet baby boy!!!!!
