Visiting with Lucas

Sunday night we had our nephew over for a visit. Funny story: My brother helped Lucas pack and apparently Lucas was adamant about not needing his bedtime buddies and blanket. Well, that backfired. At 9:30pm, Lucas is crying his eyes out. So, after a couple of phone calls to mom and dad, we decided to meet half way and get the bedtime stuff. It was a 30-minute drive for me and an hour for his mom. Ugh! The next day I decided to get them to the park. By the time the afternoon rolled around, my boys and I were ready to hit naptime. Whew!

More moments enjoying the unusual weather

Never thought we'd be experiencing May/June weather in March. Amazing!

Isn't the weather great?!

Yesterday I decided to take the boys to one of the park reserves at Homer Lake (outside of St. Joseph). What a great place! I had never been there before. We enjoyed walking a trail, checking out the water, and even spying on a crawfish. It ran away where it revealed it's home. So fun and can't wait to go back. The park is also in the process of creating a "natural playscape" for kids to play on. Looks close to being complete. Can't wait to go back with the bikes.

Updates

Can't believe its been over 2 months since I've posted pics. School started with Taten going to Kindergarten and so much else. Gavin has started back to 3rd grade and is doing another year of Cub Scouts (Bear Den). Enjoy the pics!

Hanging out at Busch Stadium

Brad's sister came to IL from TX. We took them to St. Louis with our other niece and nephew and enjoyed watching the ball game. Had a great time and the food (although very expensive) was great!

Canoeing in Indiana

Went to Turkey Run a few weeks ago and enjoyed a canoeing trip with Brad and the boys. Taten had other things in mind other than riding in a boat but overall it was a successful trip that wore us all out. Whew!

Children's Discovery Museum

Gavin and I were talking about ways to enjoy the summer and, of course, a museum always is a hit. We grabbed some friends and went to the Children's Discovery Musuem in Normal. It was fabulous and there was so much to do there for the kids. What a fun day. Hoping to get back there again before school starts back.
