Memorial Weekend

We just got back from a really fun trip to Zion National Park with my mom and Ken and our family. We started our weekend on Friday by going out to Sand Hollow to fish for the evening. Then on Saturday we drove out to Zion. Lainee and the boys came out too! We went on a hike to the Emerald Pools with all of us. After we got to the first pool and realized there wasn't really a pool but rather a couple of little puddles. We decided to go to the second pool hoping it would be a pool, but it was just water running over some rocks. :) By the time we got to the second pool, stopped and had some snacks, all three of my kids fell in the water and got wet, we decided to not go to the third pool... (which was a mistake since the 3rd pool is the best one).

The next day we went up to the top of the canyon and did the Riverside Walk. It was beautiful and the kids had such a fun time. The squirrels were everywhere and they were friendly... :) The kids had so much fun! Afterward, we ate lunch at the Zion Lodge then came back to our lodge to swim.  Garrett and Aubrey came up to swim and go out to dinner with us too! That was fun.

It was such a fun weekend! We are already making plans to go back and do some more hiking! :)

BTW: I started a new blog designed around scrapbook pages and I'm going to try and keep up to date with it. I spend a lot of time updating my blog when I should be scrapbooking so I started this new blog that will let me do both. :) Don't be surprised if it gets updated more than this one.... but we'll see! :) It has no sidebar or widgets... just scrapbook pages.

The Best Mother's Day!

I have to say, yesterday was one of the best Mother's Day's I've ever had... and it was all due to one person... my hubby. :) The theory was to let me have a day with no sassy kids, no cooking, and no worrying about anything... and it was so nice. :)  I was able to sleep in because the kids just climbed into bed with me and Aiden stayed asleep in his crib until 9:30.  Bob had to work at Target in the morning, but was able to get off work early so he brought breakfast home with him.

Bob and the kids had surprised me with new sunglasses and really nice cards. :) We then went outside to play in the yard for a bit. I jumped in the hammock and relaxed, then all the kids joined. :) Bob then put the kids in the trees and they played and watched for hummingbirds.

Afterward, I jumped in the shower to get ready while Bob got all 3 kids ready. Then I was treated to some shopping for some new shirts. :)

We then went to Joyce's to wish her a happy mother's day and visit for awhile. Bob didn't want her to have to cook either so he went and picked up Cafe Rio for us. :)  We visited until 5ish, then went out to my mom's house to wish her a happy mother's day too. Bob had planned for all the guys in the family to cook dinner. They BBQ'd and made all the salads and sides to go with.  AND, he prepared all the kids' plates and made sure they were fed. :)  He also attended to all the kids' needs throughout the day and took care of Aiden when he was fussy.

So... basically I had the entire day to relax and be with my family. Bob went out of his way to show me how much he appreciates everything I do as a mom. :)  On the same note... it makes me appreciate everything my mom has done for me and still does for me... AND everything my husband does for me.  I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful man as my husband. So, even though it was mother's day (and I got totally spoiled), it made me appreciate everything I have been given.  I'm grateful for my wonderful husband, beautiful children, my awesome parents, and all we are blessed with. :)

Back to the Splash Pad

On Tuesday we took our first trip back to the Main Street Splash Pad. The kids had such a good time. Lainee, Carie, and Jess were able to come too so the kids had a blast playing with their cousins. :)  I love this time of year (besides the wind). The weather was perfect... it wasn't too hot, there was a slight breeze... it was nice.  :)
