7 parks in 7 days

I had a week off from work so Jake and I decided to hit the road and camp it up! We drove and drove and drove but it was great to see so much. We used our National Parks pass to its greatest extent. We visited Grand Staircase Escalante, Glen Canyon, Zion, Red Rock, Fish Lake, Arches, Canyonlands, and everywhere else along the way. I was breath taken on the drive between Salina UT and Green River UT. It felt like we were on the planet Mars while passing through Manti La-Sal National Forest. Anyway, we saw some amazing stuff. Petroglyphs that were thousands of years old and canyons that were thousands of feet high. The Colorado keeps growing and shrinking. Mother Nature has so much to offer, more than anyone could see in ten life times. I could live outdoors-- and I miss Hawaii for this reason. Being outside, walking barefoot, getting sun-kissed…. it's all very healing. Our last night of camping was somewhere between Moab and Monticello UT. We took a dirt turn off from highway 191 and found a cozy spot just 4 miles down Iron Flat Road. We saw and heard nobody. The mountain was ours for the night. We did yoga and watched our shadows on the rocks as the sun went down. We toasted marshmallows and talked about life. Jake played the guitar and the stars smiled down on us. I knew we would have to visit the 'real world' after tomorrow so I slept like a baby in our two-man tent that night.
