CHA CHA

So have you HEARD about ChaCha? I don't mean the mean ballroom groove. I mean the new Q&A business venture. If your phone does text messaging, you can text any question you want to C-H-A-C-H-A or 242-242. They have REAL people looking up the answers to these questions and responding to you. No joke! You can be camping in the middle of the dessert and text Cha Cha a question like, "How much saltier is the Great Salt Lake compared to the Ocean?" And they'll text you the perfect mathematical answer, along with a little bit of a human response like, "wow, I wouldn't want a mouthful of that!"

I guess these people receive 20 cents for every question they respond to. And NO, they don't sell your number to mailing lists-- we already texted and asked them for the answer. Anyway, I was just impressed with this new idea that somebody had and put into action. CHA CHA!

The weirdness of Korea still follows.

When we were in Korea I bought a box of 75 bandAids and somehow they made it back to America in our luggage. We've been using them and they look just like regular bandAids, that fleshy fake color and everything. The other day I pulled one from a row of six and it was a Garfield bandAid. What? It was connected to all of the others with that perforated pull apart edge and all! One Garfield bandAid amongst 74 other pale, beige colored bandAids.

A cool husband, once again!

So I come home the other day and what did I find? Something I have been craving for the past couple months..... a clothes line! I know, it's silly but true. The weather has been soooo warm out and every time I do laundry I say, "I wish we had a clothes line." What's the point of wasting energy by using a dryer when the sun is just baking our back porch? Plus the clothes get that fresh air smell that can't be beat. Do I sound like a commercial yet?

Yes, I know. It's the little things in life that make me feel special. But isn't Jake the coolest? I say something and zim-zam-slappity-jam it's done! A simple yet much loved rope strung across our back porch!

THEN, I come home the next day and what am I to find? Jake is over the top! We had borrowed some old bikes from our friends Shane and Lauren for the summer. They aren't anything too flashy (or comfortable to sit on) but Jake fixed them up enough to be road worthy. We've enjoyed a couple of good cruises together. But apparently, Jake didn't think it was good enough for his lady and so I found this waiting for me in our living room yesterday!!!!

I've been on an orange kick lately. I LOVE this bike!

Independence Day

Sorry about the delay in posts. I have a life. But I just had to mention July fourth, 2008. We were able to spend it with the family that lives around here: Jade & John. We were also able to eat some good food and visit with some old friends: Kaina, Kamaca, Rachel & Juan, Amy Baby, Zoe & Felia.

The 4th is my favorite holiday of the year! Hands down. It just always has been. 1-2-3- Four little reasons why:

1. There are always picnics in parks with family, frisbees, and bing cherries.
2. I became an Aunt for the first time on this day.
3. There's just something amazing about big exploding things in the sky that are beautiful.
4. Hello! We've got FREEDOM to do sooo much and be ourselves.
