Throwback Post: Teasing Mommy
I got this set of pictures sent to me at work from my loving family. Not quite sure if they were just trying to include me but am reasonably sure they wanted to make sure I knew what I was missing.

Throwback Post: Cooking with Mommy
It is a work in progress, but it is fun to teach and play. Of course, my secret desire is to be able to turn over full meals to her and James but that is way in the future. In the mean time, it is great to have enthusiastic and eager help for help and fun in the kitchen.

Random Encounters
So, most of my extended family lives close, within an hour or so. But such is the nature of growing up that we seldom see each other. Which is why this photo is so funny.
This cousin of mine lives about 15 minutes from me in Utah. This is a photo Paige and I took on our way home from New York last summer. This is the Winter Quarters Visitor's Center. My cousin was visiting family in Nebraska and just happened to pull into the visitors center when we did.

Granpa's Frogs
The coolest thing about going to Gma and Gpa Olson's is...seeing Gma and Gpa.
BUT, second on the list are Gpa's frogs. They look amazing and are so fun to watch.

James's Selfie Fixation
James has a new game. He sneaks Daddy's phone out of its place, and takes photos of himself with it.
I come back later to find
3 of these...
5 of these...
18 of these...
24 of these...
27 of these...
And 32 of these. Apparently he goes for quantity over quality.

Throwback Post: Monarch
This is a picture of one of our Monarch babies. Pretty, huh?
Want to learn some random science knowledge? (Sorry, can't resist teaching some random science.) You can tell if this is a boy or a girl...any ideas? (Don't cheat and google search...I'll tell you before we're done.)
Checking the feet as my father-in-law is famous for won't work...
It is all about the spots. The two black spots in the back of the smaller set of wings, toward the middle of the butterfly. If they are there, male. If not, female.
So, there you go. You're welcome. Ask me if you want to know the difference between a pine, a fir, and a spruce.

Zoo
Make the world turn at your direction.
Sad primates...hello cousin!
"Pretty elephant, Mommy. Big!"
Just because it's pretty.
Really big rhinos
Well, hello there.
Only if Daddy went with it. Mommy's ride was solo.
No one would join Mommy in the nest. Sniff.
"It's not bald..."
Seals. Swim. Jump. Play.
A couple of bears to watch walk...
from a safe distance.
We like to watch the tall giraffes. Especially in the building catwalk at head level.
Do you mind?!
Breakfast at the zoo.
This time was fun and no tears when we sat on the tiger statue.
The kids would not look at the big tiger. Instead, they wanted to watch the leave tumble in the water at their feet. Oh well, still fun for them.
Thanks for visiting.
We were so glad that this guy (?) woke up. We were looking forward to seeing the polar bear. The perspective of the trainer really makes me not want to meet one of these in the wild...ever, never ever.
More places for the seals to play in.
