Is bad news?
We have no update, as there is nothing new on the status of the car. It is still at the auto body shop for an estimate.

Interview with a 2 year old
I had been cleaning, and had just emptied out a bucket of mop water. Lilly was upset that I had dumped it out.
"More water." She said, in a very commanding tone.
She reared back her head and wailed. "I need a hug!" Her typical response to not getting what she wants. Gimme a hug then gimme my way.
She reared back her head and wailed again."I leave!" she screamed and ran out of the bathroom. In the hall I heard her cry and sniffle. She calmed a bit. I continued cleaning. Suddenly I heard her speak behind me.
I turned to see her leaning her head into the doorway from the side. "Your sorry your a bad guy?"
"Yeah." a pause "I don know why."
I sat down to clean the dust in the corner. "It happens. sometimes it's hard to control your emotions. I understand."
"Yep. Would you like a hug now?" She snuggled up to my arm, a pulled her into my lap. She sniffed.
"I need my special banket." She was on the verge of tears again.
"Okay, Calm down." I stood her up on next to me. "Take a deep breath. Like this." I breathed in deep and let it out.
She took a deliberate but short breath in. Then she giggled and stiffled a sniff.
James started crying in the other room.
I went to get James where he had been playing. I picked him up and patted him. Lilly helped me give him a sandwich hug and he calmed down a bit.
Her face lit up "Yes!" She bolted into James' room. I heard her rifling around and talking to herself. She was beginning to take longer than it should.
"Did you find it?"
"Oh! Yes!" She came running back and gave James the bottle.
Her Entire face was grinning. She patted me on the head. "You so Nice Dally, you so nice to me."
I love you, little girl. You're Awesome.
"More water." She said, in a very commanding tone.
"Nope. No more water."
She reared back her head and wailed. "I need a hug!" Her typical response to not getting what she wants. Gimme a hug then gimme my way.
"No, Lilly, I am not going to put more water in the bucket."
She reared back her head and wailed again."I leave!" she screamed and ran out of the bathroom. In the hall I heard her cry and sniffle. She calmed a bit. I continued cleaning. Suddenly I heard her speak behind me.

"Yeah." a pause "I don know why."

"Yeah"
"I had a hard time stopping crying when I was younger"
"When you were liddle?"
"Uh oh, I need to check on James."
"Yeah, James need a hug too."
I went to get James where he had been playing. I picked him up and patted him. Lilly helped me give him a sandwich hug and he calmed down a bit.
"Lilly, could you please go find James' bottle for Daddy?"
Her face lit up "Yes!" She bolted into James' room. I heard her rifling around and talking to herself. She was beginning to take longer than it should.
"Did you find it?"
"Oh! Yes!" She came running back and gave James the bottle.
"Thank you Lilly, You are such a good big sister!"
Her Entire face was grinning. She patted me on the head. "You so Nice Dally, you so nice to me."
I love you, little girl. You're Awesome.
Finally.
James finally figured out how to take the food in the hand and put it into the mouth. He even does Craisins now.

Music Monday
The National Pastime.
At Least in the Olson House.
Which would kinda void the "National" part, wouldn't it?
Which leads us to our Monday Music selection. Yet another brilliant melody from Julian Smith. Another brilliant rap parody on the relationship between a man and his reading.

Big Man Getting Bigger
![]() |
| WHY is is head so Biiiig? Why IS his HEAD so BIIIIIIIIIG? -Gir (cartoon character) |
James had his 9 month appointment yesterday. He is bigger. Not just on his measurements, but as to his percentile, he went up 0.22 - 1.49 points. Meaning that he is proportionally bigger than other kids his age than he was 3 months ago. His head is getting particularly large.
Length: 30 inches (96.97 percentile)
Head Circ: 19 inches (99.55 percentile)
Weight: 24 lbs (96.82 percentile)

Music Monday
Oh, the lessons I am teaching our kids. like the important things in life are apparently entertainment and food. James had his first moment of real crawling the other day, and all it took was to show him his bottle and, more importantly, play a music video on Daddy's phone. he was off like a shot on his hands and knees. None of that belly slide when there is entertainment to be had.
And what was he listening to that he just had to have? A tasteful little diddy by my favorite, Julian Smith, done in the Flavor of a good 80's new wave song (He even put in the VCR tracking graphic.) The name of the song is 'Eat Randy' a cheesy song about, of all things, cannibalism. (note, neither myself, Paige, or Julian Smith actually endorse Cannibalism. The song is intended to be ridiculous and does very well at it.)

Grrrrrrrrrrr...
This month I have been as high as 198.8 and as low as 192.8. Currently I am at 195.8. This despite killing myself for weightless sake. Still watching what I eat, and now pushing myself all the time on the bike while towing a bike trailer with 2 kids and accoutrements, but I am still roughly flat lined. You can't get much more stable than holding to a 6 pound band.
Paige, on the other hand...
Well, she is even more frustrated than I am. She is up about a pound, but overall still on the same plateau she has been on for, what, 4 months now? I can't even remember exactly. Here is to hoping we bust this nasty holding streak very soon.
