Her fathers Daughter.

Unlike Paige, who very much dislikes water in her face (despite growing up with a pool), Lilly loves the water. James and Carie have a pool and Lilly and Daddy made good use of it.

We visited with James and Carie in Phoenix, and their new son Ethan, our nephew and Lilly's cousin.  Here are some photos.

TravelBlog

So I promised posts from our vacation, and here they begin. Today, here are pictures from the trip down to Arizona.
Here is a nice shot of us 3 from The Hoover Dam. We stopped at an overlook, soon it will no longer be part of the road from Las Vegas to Phoenix. In the picture below you can see the huge bridge they are almost finished with to bypass the narrow top of the Dam.

Paige wanted to take our picture in front of these statues, but it was 7 dollars to stop, so nothing doing. This is as close as we can get without paying money.

Music Monday

It doesn't matter to me how famous a person is. I care even less the creepier the person becomes. The World has Lauded teh life of Michael Jackson since his death, but to me, I still don't like him any more now than I did before. WAAAAAY to creepy. But, He had talent.

This song is one of his few I would pay any attention too, and the fact that it is in awesome cover makes it all the better. Here is Pomplamoose with Michael Jackson's Beat it.

Updates

No new temple models this week, I have not made any. Next week there should be a fair few. The main reason I have not done anything is that we just got back from a week in Phoenix. We were visiting Friends, Family and Temples. There will be a fair few posts this next week.

First though, some updates. I am finished with summer semester now, and Paige is back at school. I have now completed 5 total semesters, qualify as a Junior and have a collective GPA of 3.83. I ttok a dip after spring semester, but I am back up, mainly thanks to a straight 4.0 this semester, on 15 credit hours. It's enough to have put me on the Deans list for the college of technology and computing. Additionally, My Pell Grant came through, along with an additional chunk of money awarded for being a junior in the computer sciences with good grades. It has been enough to fully pay for fall semester, and possibly full pay next semester as well. This will allow us to tuck aside some money fro traveling a bit next year when I take summer semester off.

So more posts next week, lots of pictures, a few more temples, and maybe a music video even. Wow, you are so lucky.

Authors note.  Neither I nor my wife play Farmville.  For that matter, neither does our daughter.  Not the least reason being she is to young to legally have Facebook account.

Two for this week

Okay now I don't have any more models pending with google earth.  At this point I imagine I will probably do one a week maybe?  depends on what my time looks like.  Even though school is out I have a few other projects I'm working one too.

Here you go though, this week it is Johannesburg South Africa and Denver Colorado.

Surge of Momentary Creativity

My tendency to procrastinate can sometimes end in a very clean house or something random and new. This time, the latter. Who knew that there are so many paper supplies for the letters and such? (Chris, I now understand a little better.) And, now Lilly can have a place for all her photos instead of being taped to the wall.

So, if you don't notice something you've sent us....umm...may I have another? We would love family shots as well, or just cousins.

Play time with mommy.

I've realized with my photo phobia (let's call it photophobia to up the justification level), we don't have a lot of photos of me playing with Lilly. Which I do. Lots. If she could only talk....never mind. I would probably be embarrassed.

Anyway, here are a couple of us having fun on our temple trips.

I love my mommy pack mule.

I can drink it...I know it!

What is the meaning of life?

Sack of potatoes

I've been trying to make her a nature girl. As I was doing this one, I could not help but have a mini "are you sure you want to do this" after that poor mom and her baby in Central Park.

Temple BigHeads

Years ago, my sister Samantha introduced me to the concept of BigHead shots. I still find myself thinking my sisters are so much cooler than me....and copying many of their habits.

While Brian and I were dating, we started the tradition of taking a BigHead shot in the set of whatever temple Brian was photographing. We are now redoing some of the local ones to include Lilly. So, here is our latest set.

Vernal, UT

Manti, UT

Ogden, UT

Provo, UT

Logan, UT

I think I will start to insist on multiple takes...none of us look really good in the Logan one. Oh, well....it was an excuse to see Shauntae and her wild boys. (Thanks for letting us drop in last minute.)

This Week's Four.

It has taken me 2 months to convince Google That my version of Oakland Temple was better than the existing version. and today They agreed. Additionally, I had three others added.

Oakland California

Fukuoka Japan

Reno Nevada

Bogota Columbia

Fukuoka and Bogota are both Temples I have never been to.  Bogota was a fun case.  The husband of Paige's best friend was in Bogota on his mission the week before the open house and got a special tour.  Additionally, He got three pictures which he loaned to me, and from those three, I did this.  I was rather surprised by how well it came together.

All about the motivation...

How do you motivate people? Find their carrot.

For Lilly, it is all about the technology.

Side note, she can plant her hands and scoot herself forward on smooth surfaces and rocks forward and backwards....progress.

By the time Lilly was done, There were seven help screens open on the computer.

How to tame a tiger

Lilly really does love this tiger. She laughs and chortles every time. I wish we still had the back up just in case of loss or accident.

More for Google

So Google gets tons of model submissions a week, and slowly sorts through them. Consequently I forgot how many models I had in que still awaiting review. This week, Google added 4 more of my models this week.

Vernal Utah

Redlands California

Ciudad Juarez Mexico

And Madrid Spain

This set of four has some interesting aspects to them. The first three are all temples that have never had a model in Google Earth Before. The Second two are my first models for temples outside of the United States, ever. Not even my normal models have a model outside the US yet.

Lastly, Madrid Spain is the first temple model I have ever made of a Temple I have NEVER been to. All the textures are from Google Arial Photography. Not bad.
