The Pixie Cottage Challenge #82 - Say It With Flowers

It's another "Once Upon A Wednesday" over at The Pixie Cottage
This week we want you to get into the craftroom and create something with the theme "Say It With Flowers"

Of course we also have a wonderful sketch if you'd like to use that.

Challenges:
AI Factory - Anything Goes
Frosted Designs - Coloring
The Poodles Parlour - Round and Round The Garden (3 entries only)
2 Sisters - Color Combo (chocolate chip, regal rose, pink pirouette, certainly celery and very vanilla)
Sentimental Sundays - Flowers
Cupcake Crafts - Sewing
Incy Wincy - Something Old and Something New (the stamp is old and the paper is new)

Card Recipe:
Image - Simply The Best by ARTish
Paper - Watercolor Bouquet by K and Co
Medium - Copic Markers
Flowers - Making Memories
Sentiment - K and Co
Doily Die - French Pastry by Cheery Lynn Designs
Pearls - The Paper Studio

This was this weeks fabulous sketch.

I've had this lovely rose stamp for ages and never used it on a card as I was afraid of coloring it correctly. But I had a go and while I know it needs a lot more work on the shading at least it's seen the light of day! LOL
We'd love to see you "Say It With Flowers" this week too at The Pixie Cottage

It's Friday and time for another challenge from Team Cuddly at Cuddly Buddly!

Totally Stampalicious - Anything Goes
2 Sisters - Anything Goes
Allsorts - Anything Goes (3 entries only)
Creative Craft World - Anything But Birthday
Crazy Challenge - Ribbon (2 entries)
Stampin Bee's - Ribbon
Anything Goes - Pick Of The Bunch (flowers)
Paper Pretties - No Markers
Amber's Crafts - Patterned Paper (1 entry only)
Crafts and Me - Ribbon
Creative Craft Challenges - 3D or Decoupage

Card Recipe:
Image - Kitchen Garden by Bits of Ivory
Sentiment - Garden Vignettes by Bits of Ivory
Paper - Cottage Collection in Poppy by Cuddly Buddly
Doily Dies - French Pastry and English Tea Party by Cheery Lynn Designs
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts and Treasures by Shabby Chic
Pearls - Recollections
Border Punch - Martha Stewart
Ribbon - Stash

I printed two copies of the clip art and cut them both out. Then I popped up just the fruit part on the second part for more dimension. I used two different doily dies to mat them on and added flowers in a semi circle. I added pearls to the punched border and was all done!
I hope you enjoy this one and will be coming by to play with us at Cuddly Buddly this week :)

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Get Your Sewing On!

I hope all my American friends had a wonderful and safe 4th of July, we enjoyed hot Texas weather, a good brisket and of course a few cold ones!
Now the Holiday is over it's back to regular programming and as it's Tuesday that means a new card for the A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge!
This week is a super easy one, we just want to see some stitching on your card and it can be machine, hand or faux, it's up to you!

Challenges:

I think this little image of Kaela is so sweet and to finish it off I drew in a little wall for her to be sitting on.
Gardening was (and still is) such a big part of my life, learning all about the seeds and plants and trees from my Nana and it's nice to have such a cute card to remember those moments by.
And another reminder of Nana is this challenge, stitching, as she was a super seamstress in her day so Nana, this one's for you!
Please come along and share your stitched creation with us this week at A Spoon Full of Sugar.

Super News!!! Cuddly Buddly has a Digi Challenge!! #1 - "A Brand New..."

You'll remember a few weeks ago I announced that I was part of the new challenge team at Cuddly Buddly and today is the day of the 1st challenge!
Challenges will be each Friday but we are two teams, Cuddly and Buddly!, and so you'll see a card from me every other week.
You need to use a Cuddly Buddly digital project to enter but there are tons of FREEBIES so there is no reason not to play :)
We will have winners each week, all the details are on the Cuddly Buddly blog
Now to this very 1st challenge, I had the honor of choosing the theme and in the spirit of the new challenge and team members I've chosen the theme of "A Brand New ...". You can make a card for a new baby, new home, new start (graduation), wedding or maybe just using brand new products or a technique that is brand new to you!
Plenty of ideas for this one and we really want to see you play along.

Challenges:
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything Goes
Stamp Something - Something Digi
Forever Friends - Birthday's (with an animal)
Fresh Brewed - Birthday or Party
Crafts and Me - Birthdays
Truly Scrumptious - Things With Wings
Bunny Zoe's - Fairies
2 Sisters - Fairies
Flutterby - Open (with a Fairy, Angel or Butterfly)
Stamps R Us - There Was A Little Girl...
4 Crafty Chicks - Stitching

Creative Stamp Friends - Dots

Digital Tuesday - Flowers
KB Cute Monday - Flowers
Ooh La La - Summer Flowers
My Mum's Craft Shop - Something Old, Something New (punch and brads are old, the image, papers and team are new!)
Stamp With Sarah Kay - More than 3 layers
Scrapbook Sisters - Summer Fun

Card Recipe:
Image - Twinkly Fairies Strawberry Sweet by Cuddly Buddly
Papers - Cottage Garden by Cuddly Buddly and Toby Tumbles Hearts and Flowers by Pachela Studios for Cuddly Buddly
Border Punch - Martha Stewart Edge Punch Daisy
Ribbon - The Whimsey Cottage
Fabric Brads - K and Co
Sentiment - Printed in Black Boyz on Mopeds

I'm the first to admit that I shied away from digital papers for a long while as we in US have such an easily available selection of tangible papers that I didn't feel the need.
But many of my favorite digital stamp companies have matching papers that I was slowly but surely pulled in :)
It is so nice to be able to print just as much as you need, make the image on the paper smaller or larger to suit your needs and even change colors if you need to!
I used papers from two different sets on this card and I really love the results.
This was such a easy card to pull together as the image is so sweet that it didn't need much to finish it off.
I hope you like it and go grab a freebie if you like and come along and play with us at Cuddly Buddly!

I decided to go with a Side Stair Step fold, it is a cute look, especially for a child's birthday card. I will admit that I add a little stand under my card to help it stay up as this style card likes to lay down when it's not told to, naughty card!
Anyway we hope you'll Go Wild with us and be sure to check out all the other fabulous creations over at the Digital Delights Blog!

Sentimental Sunday - Anything But a Card (and a sentiment)
Incy Wincy - Nature
Stamp With Fun - In The Garden
Totally Stampalicious - 3D project
Crafts and Me - Punch It Out

Project Recipe:
Image - Finch by ARTish
Paper - DCWV The Guy Stack
Birdhouse - Joann's (just $1!!!)
Medium - Copic Markers
Paint - Anita's in Mocha Java
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Pearls - Recollections
Border Punch - Martha Stewart Lace Heart
Sentiment - Heidi Grace

This was the sketch but I chose the theme this week.

I simply painted the unfinished birdhouse with the brown paint. Then I punched strips of two different patterned papers with the heart border punch to make the "tiles".
I added just a few embellishments to the top and a flag with the sentiment.
I think it turned out cute and a great little project with the base birdhouse costing just $1.
We'd love to see you come along and play with us at The Pixie Cottage this week!

I started with a basic easel style but with the cute flowerpot the baby is in I thought it would cute to make it into a flowerpot card! Once I had the image colored and cut out I planned the rest of the card around it. I used a wide organdy ribbon for the bow and the flower was a perfect match.
This is such a fun little card and I hope you like it.
