An update of our holiday season...
What is Christmas time without sweets? Emilee got her first taste of chocolate when we went to see the lights at temple square. Her binky fell on the ground and the only thing we had to rinse it off with was hot chocolate. This was the result...
She was loving life! Boston is a fan, as well. They take after their mother!
December was also the month that we blessed Emilee. I love this picture. It shows everyone's personalities all too well....
It was a busy month! As I went to get Boston to head out to the Larry Miller sing-along, this is what I found....Boston sound asleep with his sippy still in his mouth.
Poor Emilee has no control and was forced to let me dress her up like Mrs. Claus...she even had the red cheeks to go with it!
Val brought some fun hats to wear at the sing-along. Boston thought it was a crack up! Anything to get attention! :)
Boston was so excited about Santa this year...until we took him to sit on his lap. He and Ethan had a great time...especially running away at the mall. Luckily Chelsea was quick to grab them and reign them back in.
Mmmm...more chocolate. We started out making chocolate dipped cookies for Santa, but Boston decided it was much more fun to eat the chocolate off the spoon. Once again, he is his mother's child. What else could I do but join him? ;)
I scheduled the surgery for my hernias 3 days before Christmas. Not the smartest, but it was soooooo wonderful to have my mom there to help and to celebrate Christmas with us! She was a lifesaver!!!! I was worried about Emilee because I knew I wouldn't be able to lift her and she can be very particular about who she goes to, but she fell right in love with my mom and was content every time she cuddled with her. Boston had a blast with my mom, too. She read him story after story after story...a sure way to win his approval. Although I wouldn't choose it again, it was nice being pampered and taken care of. Thanks, Mom!
This Christmas was my favorite by far. It was the first year that Boston understood (well, kind of) about Santa Claus and all of the fun traditions with Christmas. Brett downloaded an app on his phone that made it look like Santa Claus was calling Boston. It was great! Boston would get so excited every time. I have to admit, I pulled the Santa card my fair share of times when Boston was misbehaving. Worked like a charm!
This year was also great because my need to teach Boston the real meaning of Christmas made me turn my thoughts more to the Savior. I am so thankful for Him and for all of the blessings in my life.
