Spring and Summer 2010

It's true...I am probably the most inconsistent blogger I know. There is no way to capture all of the happenings since the last post, but here are a few of the highlights:

Boston is a Thomas the Train fanatic! No joke...he even sleeps with his trains half the time. He LOVES them. He even has a special Thomas the Train dance. I love it! When we found out that Thomas was coming to Heber, we had to take him. He was on cloud nine!!

Very enthusiastic about his new Thomas cup...
The ghetto inside of the train....seriously. Don't be deceived by how old this train looks, though. It was able to get up to the rightful old speed of 2 mph...at least that's what it felt like. :) Boston kept asking Thomas (naturally he thought Thomas could hear him) to go faster, but with no luck.

Luckily it didn't fade his enthusiasm too much. He was still thrilled, as you can see by his cheesy face.

Happy Son = Happy Parents!

Emilee was also happy, until she saw the Heber Creeper come in. We got up close so Boston could see it and we were having fun because he thought it was so neat. When we looked at Emilee, though, she had two tears running down her cheeks. Poor thing didn't make a peep, but evidently was not thrilled with the loud noises.

They had all sorts of games. This was Boston's first adventure with miniature golf.

He decided it was much easier to just throw the ball in the hole. :)

Emilee and I sat back and handled the refreshments.

This pic cracks me up. Boston was so excited to meet Sir Topham hat, but a little frightened when we got up close. Can't blame the kid...the costume was...interesting. :)

My favorite pat about this pic is the expression of the people in the background. :) Love it!

Only Brett can still look this handsome while wearing a pink blanket. :)

One last pose in front of Thomas.

This summer we also paid our first visit to Antelope Island (or Cantaloupe Island, as Boston calls it). We've talked about it for a long time, and finally did it. All I can say is that it was a once in a lifetime experience. Seriously! Ugh...I get the chills just thinking about it. I'm smiling in this picture, but Emilee's expression more accurately depicts how I was feeling. We went for a hike while we were there and I have never seen so many spiders in my entire life. Between the gnats and the spiders I honestly thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown or a stroke. Gives me the chills just thinking about it! We did have fun at the little farm, where Boston saw several "cantaloupe". Glad we went, and glad we're not going again for a really long time. :)

Boston did his annual bike parades. This one was in Don and Val's neighborhood. He was all decked out for the occasion. My favorite part was that he would stop every couple of minutes and say, "Mom, my leg's cramping up again. I need you to massage it." He always talks about his "old injury" and how he needs to be careful so his old injury doesn't come back. I think he got it from a football show. He was so serious about it. The kid cracks me up!

Gritting his teeth for the final stretch...

We went up to Idaho in July for the Wells family reunion. It was so great to see everybody. Here Devani, Baby Sage, Grandma, Emilee and I pose for a pic.

I just love this pictures. Emilee sure took a liking to her Great Grandpa!

We had a great visit with Grandma Wilson.

Just the girlies.

Our cute boys...Corbin, Mason (Boston's idol) and Boston

We built a sandbox for B and he LOVES it!

Dev and the kids had a few sleepovers. Lots of fun! Devani needed Sage to sleep close by so she could hear her at night, so she made an impromptu bed for Baby Sage in the tub. Worked like a charm! :)

Boston cannot get enough of playing with his cousins!

Emilee loved the ball pit. This is one of my favorite pics of her. For some reason whenever she sees something clear (i.e. this plastic, the sliding glass door, the window, etc.), she feels compelled to squish her face up to it. Cracks me up every time!

We spent a lot of time just chillin' at the park...

Eating ice cream (can't help my addiction, it runs in my blood...and apparently my children's, too!)....

We introduced Emilee to the joy of licking the beaters clean...

Her pouty face once she was done...

Boston perfected his dance/ninja moves (which like everything else, he claims he learned from his hero Mason)

Bustin' out some more moves until he realized we were watching...

Basically we fit in all the fun we could handle. I love that my kids can play, play, play, crash and sleep, then bounce right up and be ready to play some more. When I see this pic, I know I did my job right that day. Love these kids!!!
