Brooklyn's Wicked Birthday

Brooklyn has been begging to go to Wicked for a couple of years now and she finally got it!  It was so fun surprising her!
 Do you think she's excited?:)

My mom helped pay for her ticket and also came with us!  We had so much fun!

I can't believe Brooklyn is 9 already!  She is such a great girl!  She's a great student, a great soccer player and gymnast, and a great singer!  She says she's going to play the role of Elphaba some day:)  She's a great big sister and daughter and a very good friend to everyone.  We love you Brooklyn!

Lately...

It's soccer season...again!  All the kids got the number 3. Pretty cool!
Crosby learned how to ride his bike without training wheels!  He learned so fast.  I'm so proud of him!  Our new favorite family activity is hopping on our bikes and going on a ride, it's been especially nice since we've dropped out of the 100+ temperatures!

California!

Our family vacation to California this past week was amazing!  We had so much fun and we are so sad it's over:(
We started out our week in Newport Beach to see where Denim's mom grew up.  She lived in this house right on the beach!  We were also able to see where she went to school, once again, right on the beach.  So cool!
We spent an afternoon in Dana Point looking for sea creatures in the tide pools.  We saw a massive star fish, a big slimy slug and a few small crabs.
Here are a few pictures from our beach day.  We watched dolphins, played in the sand, built sand castles, and those who were brave enough to get cold on a breezy day did some boogie boarding.

Disneyland was magical!  We were able to spend 3 days there and we needed every second of those 3 days:)
We all had our "shirts" they were so nice because we were able to keep track of everyone.

The older girls went straight for the "big" rides while the younger girls went straight for the princesses.  Brooklyn was with the older girls and I worried a little that she might not enjoy all the fast/scary rides but I was wrong!  Her favorite was California Screamin with the Tower of Terror coming in second.  They had no time for rides like It's a Small World.  With the pricesses Ava loved being able to see and talk with them.  Her favorite was when Princess Tiana said, "Bye, Sugah" to her:)
We also did a character breakfast with Mickey and friends.  The kids really enjoyed them all coming right up to their breakfast table to see them.
This was us waiting in the super long Toy Story mania ride line!  Goofing off to stay sane.  Cros was super impressed though and picked Zurg's gun as his souvenir to take home.
I like this family picture we took one day at the park:)

Birthday Celebrations

Crosby and I had a joint celebration this year for our birthdays since Denim had to be out of town for work. We went to Mesquite to go bowling and met up with some friends to eat at the kids favorite place ever...The Virgin River Buffet! We had a great time!
We love our Cros! I can't believe he is 4! He is outgoing, a friend to everyone, and so funny! He loves racing cars, playing super heroes and teasing his sisters:) Happy Birthday!

We Moved!

I always like to have an excuse for not doing a better job with my blogging. So, here's my excuse this time...we moved to St. George! We have been thinking about making the move for the past 2 years(ever since Denim took the promotion and started commuting most work days) and we finally decided it was time. So we picked one of the hardest times to move(Christmas Break) and made our way. It wasn't easy with trying to pack and clean a home, find a new one, shop for Christmas presents, plan a birthday, and celebrate an anniversary but we did it! It was hard to leave some good friends behind in Cedar but everyone here has been great and it is already starting to feel like home.
Christmas was a lot of fun despite the flu, pink eye, and some minor coughs/colds that visited us:( We played a lot of games, ate yummy food, waited for it to snow(it didn't come), looked at lights, and laughed.
We celebrated Ava's birthday over the break. She requested a pink party. So we had pink lemonade and pink cupcakes, and pink decorations too. She loves that her parties are always celebrated with plenty of family around!

We went to classic skating too. It was our kids first skating experience, might be their last too. Ava gave up on the skates about 10 minutes into it and headed for the scooter. Brooklyn persevered but had plenty of bruises to go around:)
Happy Birthday Ava Lou!
