Alayna's Happy Brrrrrthday Party 2011
It was a fine winters evening for the annual brrrrrthday celebration. In keeping with tradition, we stoked up the fire, broke out the hot dogs, hot chocolate, smores, and sleds. We had a great time. Happy Brrrrrthday, dear Alayna. Happy Brrrrrthday to you!
You may search my time-worn face,
You'll find a merry eye that twinkles.
I am NOT an old lady
Just a little girl with wrinkles.

Cooking, eating, sewing and storytelling
We tried a new recipe, Elephant Ears. Waiting for them to cool before we could taste them was the hardest part.
For lunch we made silly sandwiches. Yummy and cute!

The sewing project(the girls always like to sew) was to make backpacks.

They are getting pretty good at sewing those straight seams all by themselves. Morganne made her pack and Ty's pack. Eliza sewed her own backpack. They turned out great ! Don't you think they're cute?
Each night before bedtime we tell sack stories. Each person gathers two random items from around the house and secretly puts them in the sack. We sit in a circle on the floor and the first person takes something from the sack and including the item into the story, he begins the story...and then...the next person takes their turn...and then...the story gets sillier and sillier and we laugh and laugh. Goodnight Ty, goodnight Eliza, goodnight Morganne. Sweet dreams. Cute kids. Good times!

Today we are making sock bunnies. Ok kids, pour the lentils into the socks, and onto the counter, and onto the floor...
The kids had fun sifting through the buttons, trying to decide which ones to use for eyes. Cute bunnies girls - whoops, didn't get a picture of Ty's bunny. I think he ran outside to jump on the tramp.

Morganne learned how to make a gum wrapper chain. But since gum no longer has wrappers, we cut pieces of wrapping paper.

She decided to make a bracelet. Good idea, Morganne! Turned out cute.
We made bunny jars and filled them with marshmellows. What can I say. They turned out cute, cute, cute and cute.
