2008

Well, I got really bored, and ended up reliving memories inside my head.. Reminiscing the past month, SIBF, promo period (with all the ponning :x and study outings with ceslisajoane), PW (!!!), trivial pursuits that I never succeeded in, birthday celebrations & all that. & I realised that this year has really been a brilliant year (of sorts), contrasting against the four years i spent in SCGS. I know its a tad early (2 days?) to start this kind of talk, but it feels nice, to think of all the happy memories I've had this year. (:

First up, my dearest 1S17, who accompanied me for the first 2 months of the year in SRJC. Up til' then, it was the bestest class I've ever had. Super bonded and all :) And within only two months! Also, I met some rly cool people there.

Best class ever in SAJC! :DDDDDDDDDD With only 4 guys! (HAHA) On the outside we may seem super Clique-ish, but when put together, you get one really bonded class, as above! :) This could been seen through the pre-promo results blog posts, where everyone was emoing and worrying about whether they were going to retain or not, and sending encouraging messages out to our classmates, because we were all in it together. Without you guys, my 2008 wouldn't have been as lively, and as full of memories :D

& to my bestest friends Ces, YY and Joane :)))) Thanks for being there throughout the year, where we spent every week planning to eat Gelato waffles on Tuesdays and having our plans foiled time and again by this lecture and that lecture ( ITS ALWAYS PW's FAULT! D: ), and finally getting to eat it tgt on our class outing :) May next year be an even better year!

CHEERS TO MY PW GROUP! :D For surviving the HORIBBLE IRRITATING SUBJECT KNOWN AS PROJECT WORK, and at the same time forging bonds that will never be broken. Vivien, Huimin, Joane and YY! ♥!

THE SIBF FAMILY! :D After one year of not being in SAJC band, I couldn't be more happy I forfeited SAJC band for the Philharmonic Youth Winds. First ever competition with Philyouth, playing Symphonic Overture and Cavetown Cappadocia, we achieved GOLD with 93.43%, and TOP BAND in Open Division at that! (: I still remember all the sectionals and practices we had at Siglap South CC (even though it was like a 2hour journey there every single practice), the concert day itself, playing together on stage as one ensemble, one band. I don't regret a single moment of it. Hey guys, remember on SIBF day, we went out for dinner at Pastamania, then LAN at Zion (which closed at 8 =.="), thereafter going to Macs for icecream, while waiting for results! & when we finally found out the results... WOW. We were all so happy! :D Should have taken a pic that day, the group of us. Derek, ShiChun, Vincent, Waiteng, Mitchell, Hanming and me! Somemore that was the first time that I knew Derek + ShiChun. hahaha. 135 from Parkway back with them, still high (:

Then came the SIBF Presentation Night! :) CAMWHORED LIKE MAD, with the trophy, without the trophy. Never want to forget that night. :) & Makan @ Glutton's Bay after that, to CONTINUE the camwhoring. HAHA. Philyouth = ♥!

DECEMBER! TOTALLY LOVE. :D :D

Filled with band pracs, which I love the mostttttt! & all the concerts hahaha. TKSS, PhilWinds, SP, Philyouth and NIESB. (I think thats like ALL the concerts I attended this year. LOL, not counting the SIBF performance night)

As usual, Philyouth concert is still THE night :) Not many group photos from this... (who has the one with the whole band?) Looking forward to the concert next year!! EXTREME MAKEOVER! :D I hope that we will stay tgt as a band, and not let people (like WAITENG) leave!! :(

Christmas with my relatives (camwhoring little kid!), Boxing day + Day after with ShiChun and Terry, stoning on MSN for a whole day yesterday, late night conversations on the phone... How could I not love it all?

& for the people who were not involved in all the good stuff that happened this year, but were still there in my life... ( HOW COME I DONT HAVE A SINGLE PIC OF THEM D: )

Hilmi, Greg, Andrew + friends on bnet/garena - Although I hate the fact that you insult me in every game... Thanks for still letting me play ( even though im so noob D: ), and being there for me (sometimes..?) Well, even though we have to keep forgiving each other (maybe you don't forgive me, I don't know.....), your presence still appreciated for all the fun I'd had during most games. & pool too. (:

Amelia, Woon, Adnaan, Adam, Anthony - DotA clique + Ame! :D HAHA all start with A except woon! x) Sadly we don't go out as a group anymore >.<, but you guys still mean alot to me k! Individually, and as a group :) Here's to 2009, hoping that you guys will resolve all conflicts once and for all and we can all be friends again!!! Sushi outings ftw!! :)

Max - Well what can I say... Hmm... Remember your new year's resolution! Next year starts in TWO DAYS! HAHA. If I were to write you a thankyou message it'd be IMBA LONG.. (that'll come in time, you'll see.) So I'll just leave it at this, and wish you a better 2009! All the best in bowling too! As for the reeds.. GOOD LUCK IN FINDING THEM. HAH. >:) & well I have photos with YOU, that's for sure. But I'll post them up in a day or 2 when I find a suitable one.

& to everyone else who has been there for me through thick and thin, or just as company...
I want you to know that you are appreciated :) This year would have been NOTHING without you guys!

Pool : Cool Pool Cues~! ShiChun had one which made a Concert A when banging the end on the floor. haha. Then I had one that made Concert G? (is it? forgot liao.) Pool Cue Ensemble! :o

Lan: LOL STARWARS. Totally fail lah. haha. Couldn't play L4d campaign. Cannot create server, duno why :( CS was fun! I actually killed people hahaha. What else? Oh. CnC3! Toaly too noob until comp hang haha.

Dinner: Crystal Jade Kitchen! ( Wallet Painnnn D: ) Lol. But the food was damn good. :D Wouldn't have eaten there with anyone else, except when my parents decide that they are willing to spend more than usual on food.

Arcade: Went there just to watch SC play Ju-beat. So pro :) haha. I'm totally fail at it :x

Yogurt: Need I say more? YUMMMMM :D Lol. Last time I ate yogurt was like a reallllly long time ago :( Even though I have frolick like almost right at my doorstep! So ridiculous! :(

Went to vivo in the morning, bought my cousin's christmas present, and a cardi for myself :x. Headed to Esplanade to meet ShiChun. Reached esplande at 1, which was the planned time, and I called him.

Totally wth haha. But blessing in disguise, cuz meeting him forces me to get out of the house early, which means I finally had time to go amk hub to buy my bag (: BUT WLAO I SPEND ALOT OF MONEY TODAY. $60 from the tickets i paid first, then $15 for bag, $19.50 for cardi.. PAIN CAN. :( But I'm happy luh so its okay :x (sia la why i not affected by recession one. Must save!!) Got to nyp on time, just before 3, to find EVERYONE standing around outside. o.o ALAS! The electricity hadn't come back on! So we camped outside, and waited, and waited, and WAITED!!! for really long. Waiteng even managed to perform a recital! :o HAHA. When finally the gates opened at like 5plus, I finally had access to my instrument omg. after like 2 hours of stoning! Bad bad bad. Ran through Persis (WHOA THE RUNNING NOTES :D) and Blue shades (EH MY SOLO WTF I SOUND LIKE SHIT.) Going early to prac tomorrow, and last dinner at NYP! I hope everyone comes early (: Running through the power-packed programme tomorrow, and I think I'm going to die. BUT MAR IS STRONG LAH (: Crapped with Azman and Waiteng on the way back haha. They are super lame. But so fun! hahaha.

Woke up today to meet waiteng at payalebar, cuz prac was at CCHM. SUPER FAR man! haha. But I got there alright. Passed by Mcpherson and Aljunied on the way, which got me missing SIBF cuz I always used to take bus past there. Haha, random right? I know lol. Met up with the section. PRESIDENT was late!!! hahaha. First time! Had clarinet choir prac in Chung Cheng, and wow, the school looks like.. some tourist attraction in China! After walking in the gate, people kept going, "Are we in China?". Then their guard post was the "ticketing booth", and since we were in one big group, with waiteng as our tour guide, we went for our tour of the school. haha. No, actually we just went to the band room. But the school grounds were beautiful (: (even though it looks so.. ancient chinese-ey.) And the lake!!! So serene. CCHMers are so lucky. haha. Anyway, clarinet choir prac was pretty productive. (:

Went for dinner at the banmian place (AGAIN!), then cabbed down for prac at nyp. Exhausted during the prac... I cannot tahan Rosa omg. All the long notes which are WAY HIGH UP THERE just wears me down haha. Everyone was dying by the end of the prac already. The journey back home was nice though (: Nice conversations and all. haha. Made up for the exhausting prac, I guess.

Sucks having no pics... But what can I do :x My 5mp cameraphone has been sent for repair. so TOOBAD! ^_^

Today was a boring day. Slept at 4am, and woke up at 2pm :x Installed CS and played all the way until 4.30, then went to meet terry for the concert. So no life. CS is fun! Although I'm hopeless at it :((((( Who wants to tutor me in CS! ahahaha.

As for today, band prac went okay. Nothing much there. Met up with Hilmi and friends after band, did stuff, and now I'm at home. The only (extremely) good thing that happened today was that we popped by gramophone at The Cathay, and found a Neil Zaza CD. Rare, that one. It only cost $7.95. MY FAVOURITE GUITARIST! , after you, of course (:

OH, and as a side note, when you're down you close your eyes and listen to Josh Groban, Chris Botti, and nothing else, and just let the music soothe your soul.

The Liar Game

This is the new Jap Drama that I've been hooked onto recently. For someone who is hardly a fan of all those japanese/taiwanese/korean dramas shown on youtube and channel U and channel 8 and all that crap, I found this to be really encapsulating. After watching the first episode, I got hooked and watched all the way until episode 8 in one sitting. Thats almost 8 hours :x Totally got me addicted. I've still to watch the 3-hour finale episode :( Shall do that maybe later, or if it gets too late, tomorrow before band. I simply must watch it!

Basically the show is about Kanazaki Nao, this girl who is too honest for her own good. She gets caught up in The Liar Game, a game of total deception, and she, being so honest, is the one getting deceived. In desperation, she turns to a genius swindler for help. As the show unfolds, the exciting twists and turn reveal themselves one by one.

Watch it, and I promise you won't regret it. My most favourite parts are when they reveal how exactly they plan to deceive each other and such. Its really fascinating how they think of such cool plans :x I'm not smart enough.

I love love Philyouth (: As I was telling Maxy last night, its the only place throughout the whole week where I feel so happy and worry-free. (well not exactly worry-free since I get nervous and such) But playing with them is like the happiest time I'll ever have during the week. Never dreading practices, you couldn't say that if I were doing anything else. AND I have GR Selections stuck in my head now (: Gay piece, but I love it. Especially the part with the drums that sounds like its being played by a drumset, but actually not! :o Never realised it till Chiang said so :x And clarinet choir pieces are so fun! Okay, not really. I didn't say that. :x

This was dinner at some korean bbq in pasir panjang. KOREAN FOOD = LOVEEEEEEE. The first pic on the top left, is a TOWEL. haha. Its this small coin-ish thing where it expands when you put it in water. SUPER COOL. Lol.
