Happy New Year to ALL!
It's the last day of the year 2005. In 3 hrs 49 mins, we will enter a brand new year. I can already hear drums beating from afar, probably getting ready to mark the new year. I can't help but to reminisce on events that had happened throughout this year. A while ago, I just watched the recorded funeral service of my dear cousin. I wasn't able to attend the funeral service, but as I was watching the CD, I felt as if I was there and tears came streaming down my cheeks freely. Then other events came into my mind - all that happened to me this year. Good and bad. That's the way of life.
But, all those now lingers in my memory. I can only hope that the brand new year will be a good one and that I will be able to accomplish more of what I want to accomplish.
All of us hold dreams for our future, but we can only hope and dream because our lives are in God's hands and He holds the future for us.
I wish everybody a happy New Year and God bless you all!:D
So long 2005, Welcome 2006!

Yeah! New babe in da' house!
I just received an email from my dearest cousin in Germany, and pictures of her new baby! Name is Peyton Daniel Williams. Yeah~! So happy for her! I haven't seen her for a long, long time, but we still keep in touch through email and chatting. They came back last year (I think) but I wasn't here in Sabah so I didn't have the chance to meet her family. Nevermind, I hope eventually I'll get to meet her again after all these years! She and her sister have been like older sisters to me since I was a kid and still am till now! I'm their one and only "Bukidi"! cheh, perasannnnn...hehehe
Presenting baby Peyton!

Awww, isn't he cute? Of course he IS!!hehehehe..so proud to be an aunty...again! :D

I'm HOME!
Hehe. Finally, I can say that I'm HOME again! The semester seemed to go by so fast, the next thing I know, I'm back again. It feels like I've never left home. I arrived safely on Christmas day and my Dad and bro were there to meet me at the airport. It really feels good to be home again!
The next day, my bro and I attended a friend (and also our babysitter) 's wedding in Tagaroh and to my surprise, I saw Teacher Arlene there! I haven't seen her since I-don't-know-when, probably 4 years? Not sure. Anyways, me and Crystal waited until the wedding was over to meet and greet her. Haha~! She was in Thailand the week before and I sent her a card through Pappu, not knowing that she'll be coming back to Sabah! She told me she was surprised to receive my card when she will meet me in Sabah anyway, and I told her that I didn't know she was coming back home. Hehe. Anyways. After the wedding we visited our cousin's home in Goshen. It's almost 2 months since my cousin passed away, I wasn't able to come home for the funeral, so I decided to go and visit their house. I didn't know what to say when I arrived at their house, her sister greeted us. The moment I shook her hand, a feeling of sadness swept through me and I was silent for a moment. Both of us understood.
We talked about many other things. She asked me whether I visited the sister's grave already, I told her I haven't. We didn't planned to stay there long, but it turned out that we stayed there for 2 1/2 hours. It just feels right. Before, we often go to Goshen, but never to their house eventhough we're first cousins because we're not so used to each other and seldom meet. But then, sometimes it takes events like this to happen to pull the family closer. I'm not so close to the mother (I'm related to them through her Dad), but when I met the mother, it seemed like I was close to her. And one more thing that took me by surprise, is the brother. The last time I saw him, he was still small, now, he's taller than me and his appearance changed completely. He was a cute little boy the last time I saw him and now, he's grown into a tall 14-year-old boy, and that cute face is still there:). Since I'm only gonna be here for two weeks, I'm planning to go visit them again, and visit my cousin's grave. I haven't seen the movie of the funeral yet, but I've seen the pictures, and she was given a full military style (by the Pathfinders) funeral service. Her last wish was to be dressed in a full Pathfinder uniform and hold a Bible in her hand. Just by looking at the pictures and watching the powerpoint presentation of her diary made me cry.
Anyways. Today we had our family reunion (mom's side) in Tenghilan. It was fun! And the food, ohhh, the food! It felt really good to taste homecooked food again! A lot of our relatives from far and near came and the house was almost filled with people. With 11 children in the family, plus lots of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other relatives, the atmosphere is never dull and boring. Kids everywhere, I'm getting old. Suddenly I have lots of nephews and nieces! And they're growing bigger and bigger, and cuter!! Haha~! My Mom's side had always been close and always hold family reunions. It makes the family ties close and strong. That is the important thing. :)
Now, I'm at home. Bored. Nothing to do at the moment.
I think I'll do find something else to do now. Or else...I might end up going to bed..but it's still early! It's still 8 p.m.! Hehe.

Stille nacht...heilige nacht...
I had a really great time during the concert last night. This is my first Christmas concert with the Collegiate Chorale and it was really good! I'm glad I'm in the choir:D. After the concert, Dr. Paul talked to me and he said he was really impressed at the choir, not burying their heads in their files and singing "Silent Night" in German! Hahah. I asked him whether the pronunciation of the words were correct and whether he understood what we were singing, his reply was, "Yes, yes, it was world class!" Hahaha. LOL. Stille nacht...heilige nacht. :D
In a while, the English majors will be going to Phu Kae Gardens in Saraburi for our Sabbath outing. So, I gotta get ready now. Hehe.
Happy Sabbath. :D

Christmas is here:D
December is here again. I love the month of December! Last night, the AIMS had their program at the auditorium, it was nice. The kids were so adorable! Watching them performing last night made me remembered the times when I got to perform like those kids on stage. It was 12 years ago in the Philippines. Pictures of those times make me want to go back to that age again! I want to be a kid again! Hehe.
Anyways. I'm just taking a break from doing my double-log entry for my Theories class. 4 more chapters to go! Haihhh~! Getting busy, as always, just before the finals. :P
Concert tonight. Hope everything will be alright. I hope I can remember words. Haha! YEAH! Hehehehe:D:D:D:D:D

A Wedding to Remember ... ekekekek
Yesterday was Nella's wedding. It was held at the Mountain View Resort sana Klangdong. The place was nice, and the way the setting was decorated was lovely! Sungguh romantik lah especially when it was already dark. Simple but lovely wedding. Played the violin, banyak salah pun masih main dengan bangganya. Hahaha! Got to meet with relatives and friends from Bangkok too. Well, here are some pictures from the wedding - thanks to Tina's digicam. Hehe.

More pictures...
Right now, I'm watching Roswell and eating Tofiluk. Hehe. Didn't know tofiluk was sold in Thailand, never came across one until Daron saw the wrapper on the ground in Chiang Mai. We checked their 'Snack Bar' and lo and behold, Tofiluk! Heheh. Haven't eaten tofiluk for a long time, and when I tasted that familiar taste again, it felt good! Hehe. Well. Here are some more pictures of the trip and also the concert. As I've said before, I'm too poor to own my own camera, so these pictures were taken from D and D's digicam. Hehe. Thanks guys. :)

The 'fountain'. Look how clear the water is!

Me and Daron drinking the water from the 'fountain' for good luck. Hehe. So superstitious. Well, it was just for fun - at least for me. Hehe.

Shimona took this. Not bad. Hehe. Before going sight seeing, after a really good lunch!

Me and the kids. Deanna said they wanted to take picture with me, but they were shy at the same time, I had to be extra friendly. Hehe.

Music Rendezvous Vol. II
Time flew by so fast. It seemed like it was just yesterday that we performed in the Music Rendezvous concert. Last Saturday was the second concert organized by the MC String Ensemble. This time, instead of 14 string players in the string ensemble, there were only 7 of us. Three new players - Lyndelle, Lemuel and Sendy. It was great - we didn't feel as much pressure as last year and we pulled all the songs off pretty well, no major off tunes (definitely less than last year). Hehe. Here are some of the pictures - will post more later, I have a class in about 30 minutes, need to get ready now.

During the intermission, we had nothing to do so we took pictures. Me, Lemuel and Lyndelle.

Me and Nok.

Aichii, Nat and me.

With Daron and Lyndelle.
More pictures will be posted up later.

MCCC trip to Chiang Mai
Hehe. Sorry for this late, late post about the trip to Chiang Mai. Well, it was a great trip despite just experiencing the loss of my beloved cousin. 10 hours on the road was fun (sort of) too - sleep, played games, sleep again, played games again, and so on. We arrrived at the city of Chiang Mai at around 8 p.m. and went shopping at the market. The market was biggggg, if only we had more time to shop. The group stayed at the Chiang Mai Adventist Church compound for the night. The next morning, the group were up bright and early. Before heading to Chiang Mai Adventist Academy, we were brought to a temple - forgot its name though. Did some shopping - no, actually I did most of my shopping for Thai silk there, knowing that we wouldn't be stopping at any more places selling Thai silk.
The weekend went well, really well. We stayed at Hardin Hall, some 5 minutes from the Academy. The church service was amazing, especially the song service. The kids - oh, they were great. When they sing, it's deafening (in a good way, though). You should have heard them, they were loud, and I mean LOUD. It felt good - leading song service in front and listening to their voices - it was great. I've never heard people singing this loud in a church before - certainly not in MC though. Saturday afternoon - visit to Buatong Waterfall. Amazing waterfall - you can climb the waterfall without slipping because the rocks were not slippery - at all! And then, while the others were still enjoying the waterfall, Acharn Damrong brought us to the see the 'fountain'. The water was clear, and when Acharn Damrong told us that there is a belief that when someone drinks the water from the 'fountain', it will bring good luck to them. Mr. Gerald decided to try, at first we just watched. But then, we decided to try it too, and the taste of the water was uhm...i don't know. It was full of minerals, so you can imagine how it tasted like.
Saturday night was also great. We led song service again, and sang "Ring Christmas Bells" and "Ding Dong Merrily On High". After that - games! The students had fun playing the games - so I observed. The night was still young when we headed back to Hardin Hall. Earlier, we had already decided that we would stay awake the whole night because we had to wake up at 4 a.m. But then, the electricity went off, so we couldn't watch movies or play cards. What we did was we played the 7 Up game and the knots game before deciding that we might as well get some sleep.
The journey back to MC felt shorter. Maybe it was because I slept most of the way and didn't feel the time passing by. We arrived at MC at around 4.30 p.m. All in all, I really enjoyed the trip and I'm looking forward to more trips with the MCCC next semester! Meanwhile, enjoy the pics. :)

Deanna, Me, Joy and Shimona - in the bus before exiting the gates of MC. Hehe.

New day
It’s a new day again. It felt good to wake up, go for yoga, walk around the track and see the sunrise this morning. It might have been a good start for the day if nothing had happened back home. Today, my beloved cousin will be laid to rest until Jesus comes. I might look and act as if nothing happened, but there are times that my mood suddenly changes. I just want to say that it’s still a mask that I’m wearing, inside it still hurts so bad. So, forgive me if I suddenly go quiet or act differently. Yesterday, I skipped my 8 o’clock class – feel pretty guilty about it, but glad at the same time. I knew that even though I went to class, I might not be able to fully concentrate on what the teacher says. On the other hand, I can say that I’m glad I didn’t go to class because I got to chat with my cousin and just talk about our cousin. I cried as we had our chat, he cried too. He said he called our uncle and our uncle told him not to worry because they are doing okay. I’m also glad when he told me that the support given by other family members were great – as soon as my uncle called his other siblings, they immediately went to the hospital even though they live 2 or 3 hours away from Kota Marudu. I was glad and comforted to have known that. There are three of us first cousins who are not able to go home – a cousin and her 3 children in the UK, another cousin in KL and myself – I’m not alone in my feelings after all.
Anyway, I’m still trying to feel better but it’ll take time. I just have to occupy my mind with other things so that I won’t think about it all the time. And I’m glad that I have my friends to do that.
On the other hand, tomorrow the Chamber Choir, together with some teachers and students, will be traveling to Chiang Mai! I have been waiting for tomorrow to come and finally it’s here! The journey will be 10 hours long - macam mo pigi Tawau saja or even further…hehe, cakap-cakap saja ni, bukan saya pernah pigi Tawau.:P
I guess this will be my last post for this week; next post will be on Monday the 14th. So have a good day and good weekend!
Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my cousin and room mate, Lorena! May God bless you with many more birthdays to come. Always be thankful for birthdays. :)
p/s: I can't shout in my shoutbox, dunno why leh. Kakak Bibi, tnx, I know I can always count on you. I haven't been smsing you lately, miskin bah hehe, will do soon:)

Thank you so much
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. It's always nice to have friends who are there when you are down. It's really hard for me to cope and deal with the death of my beloved cousin, especially when I'm far from home. I haven't seen her for a long time and I didn't have the chance to say 'goodbye' to her for the last time. It hit me really hard. I'm trying to cope with her death, but I can't do it all alone. That's why I'm grateful to have friends here who offered comfort to me. I want to be home badly, to be there with family and relatives during this time of loss, but I know it's not possible, especially now. I just hope that you will continue to pray for her family.
Special thanks from me goes to:
Daron - thank you for the hug and comfort. (sorry if I woke you up with the sms)
Deanna - thank you for the effort of cheering me up, thank you for chatting with me in
the middle of the night (sorry to kacau you..hehe), thank you
for your prayers, thank you for the hug (really needed that:))
Shimona - thank you for saying that you are available if i needed to talk or cry, thank
you for your prayers and concern, thank you for your tip (;P)...I'm glad I
came for yoga this morning, took my thoughts away from it at least for a
little while. :)
Lyndelle - thank you for the comfort, thank you for your prayers and concern, thank
you for the sms you sent me
...to Fiona, Tina, and the others, thank you also for your prayers, comfort and for being there. I don't know what could have happened if you all were not here. I really, really appreciate it.
***To Amy, thank you for the words of encouragement, and to Leo, terima kasih to you
too. I can't shout in my shoutbox, but keep 'shouting' there.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The result of sin...
I just lost a dear cousin. I was almost going to deep sleep when I received an sms from another cousin that requested me to pray for this particular cousin as she was critically sick in the hospital. That was around 11.15 p.m. I started to get uncomfortable. And then about 30 minutes later, my cellphone rang again and this time it said "Call". My heart started beating fast. I knew it was my brother, and he told me that they just arrived at the hospital in Kota Marudu, and also told me that there's little hope - that hit me. Before he hung up, he told me that he will call again if anything happens. I could not sleep. I was wide awake, thinking repeatedly to myself that my cellphone's gonna ring any time, it's either good or bad news. And then, as I lay on my bed, cellphone beside me, I heard that dreadful ring and saw that "call", I answered the phone, it was my brother and by the tone of his voice when he said "Adie..." (little sister), I just couldn't help it but to burst into tears. That was 12.03 a.m. (Thailand time). Damn it! My bro tried to calm me, but it didn't help. I haven't seen her for a long time, probably a couple of years, and I didn't get to see her when I went back last summer. I feel really, really bad. I knew this was gonna happen, but I didn't expect it to happen so suddenly and ... arggghh~! Death is so cruel!! This sinful world is cruel!
She was a great sport. We rarely see each other, except during family reunions. And whenever we get together during those family reunions, she was always there, cheerful and talkative. She always had a smile on her face. She was the family's best friend. She was strong despite her illness. I will truly miss her company whenever the Lamam family gather together again.
Please pray for her family, even if you don't know her. Thank you for your prayers.

Holidays over!
Time went by so fast. And now, the break is over! Oh well. Time to move on. Time to get serious in my studies. I hope I won't just say it, because I tend to not get serious. Hehe.
Just wanted to post a couple of pictures taken when I was still in Sabah.
(*Pictures from Kim:)*)

Inilah muka2 yang pergi gereja lambat Hihihihi...

Alone...again!
Why am I always the lucky one to be stucked in this uncivilized part of the country while the others are enjoying themselves somewhere out there? A bit sarcastic there, I was just joking. Hehe. Yep, alone again. It's midterm break, and I'm alone in my cell. While others are enjoying themselves out there, I'm in the comfort of my room, trying to think what else is there to do to kill time aside from watching movies and staring at the empty computer screen. Hehe. Hehe.
Sometimes it's not too bad to be alone, but when you are really alone, you can really feel it. Not that I'm not used to be alone, I've been 'alone' this past few weeks anyway. I don't know, but I just feel that way.
Hmm..it's just 10 p.m., what else should I do? Watch movies? Nah, too much of it already this past few weeks. Sleep? Still too early. Stare at the computer screen? Maybe.

Last night...
What a way to begin my holidays! Yesterday went just fine until we were held by the police last night. I went to Korat yesterday with the Malaysian guys, and all was well. We were there from 11 to 4 and we reached MC at around 5.30 or somewhere around there. Then, at 8.30 p.m. 4 of us went out to eat. We were planning to eat at pi Noi's, but then the place was full so we decided to go to Muak Lek instead. On our way there, it was perfectly fine - no road blocks, no police. After dinner, we were deciding whether to go the back way or the front way...well, assuming that there will be no road blocks or police if we use the front way, we decided on going through the front. But then, our assumption was wrong - way wrong. The police stopped us. Of course, I started to panic, but I pretended not to look panic in front of the police. So, all four of us acted calm. Luckily, we were not the only MCians there, Richard, Pisith and Nampheung were there too. Those of us who were not Thai pretended to not be able to speak and understand Thai, except for Richard though. Nampheung was a different case, she's a Thai but she pretended not to be one, instead she told the police that she was from Bangladesh! I laughed when she told me this!LOL!She said if she told the police that she was Thai, they will charge her more. Well, we were held for about 30 minutes (or more, I don't know) before we were allowed to go. Mark had to pay B200 for Steve's bike and my bike. It was a surprise and unexpected road block I suppose, because the police were opening the seats and checking the insides, probably looking for drugs or something? I don't know. Oh well, that was one experience and I don't want it to happen to me again. Hehe. I was 'traumatised' last night, I didn't have my ID with me and I didn't have my helmet on too, because no one thought that we were going to Muak Lek, and no one thought that there will be a road block because according to them, it rarely happens. One of the lucky nights for the police I guess - $$$!I guess I won't be driving to Muak Lek for a while! Hahhahah:D

I'm Buffy'ated'
Bad timing. That's all I can say. Hehe. Whhhyyyyy??!! Now I can't stop! This is bad.
Oh well. Moving on. So far I had 2 midterm tests, and both of them went well (I hope:)) except one of them really made me feel stupid and dumb after the test. Hehe. Now, I'm just relaxing for the weekend. Well. Not really relaxing as I have another test on Monday and 2 writing assignments and 2 reading assignments for one of my literature class!!!GRRRRR!!Oh, and to make things worst, I haven't done my double log entry for my theories class either! Hahahhahah~! So much for making a promise to myself that I would do things ahead of time for this semester. Yep. That's me. :)
Tomorrow will be an interesting day. I hope.
Happy Sabbath:)
p/s: Oh, and Edawn...salamat for stopping by my blog:)

The following is a telephone exchange between a hotel guest and room service at a hotel in Asia, which was recorded and published in the Far East Economic Review.

Malam Kebudayaan

We had so much fun dancing on Saturday night, walaupun the audience (seperti biasa) ketawa bila si Steve pangkis. Hehe. Tak pa. Yang penting, we had fun and we really enjoyed it! As Atama, in his song, sang:
So, come on everybody throw your hands up in the air
Do the Sumazau Dance like you just don't care
Makes you feel good nothing else can compare!
That was exactly what we did on stage - we danced the Sumazau like we just don't care! Hehe.

Hariku Hari Ini
Hahahhaahah~!I haven't written in Malay since my highschool graduation!!hahaha..To Malaysians reading this, maafkanlah Melayu ku ini. Hehe. While writing those words up there, there were times that I had to think how to write it in the proper MALAY, I know that there are probably errors but nevermind. Hehe. My Malay sucks now. I can't even write in proper Malay anymore! Well, I was always poor in my Bahasa Malaysia subject in school, although it surprised me that I got a B for my SPM. Oh well. Those were the days.
Oh...speaking of 'those days', here are some pictures from 'those days'. I love 'those days'' pictures because it reminds me of my friends and the crazy times that we had when all of us were schooling in SASS.

This picture was taken on our graduation day.

Taken after church (or during church service? I forgot..heehee)

And one from when I was a farang kid schooling in the Philippine Union College Elementary School, ehm, 13 years ago. Whew, time flew by so swiftly, it's been 13 years! I miss my friends there...it's good that we still keep in touch up until today, and the best thing is, I got to meet one of them last year when the AUP Ambassadors came! Yay!
I have more pictures in my computer but, I guess this will do for now. Hehe.
Have a nice day peeps.
