Kickin' It

We put to rest another soccer season a couple of weeks ago.  The Coyotes (Delia's team) and the Fireballs (Isaac's team) played well this year.  Most notably it did not snow on us this year, which is rare for spring soccer in Durango.  Delia learned a lot from Coach Daddy, and by the end of the season she had become a little scoring machine.  I think there will be a lot of soccer in her future.  And more sportsmanship lessons.  Her competitive spirit is definitely coming to the surface.  Isaac's interest in soccer seems to have lagged quite a bit- we'll have to see if he plays again in the fall.  Matt enjoyed coaching again, and it was fun to get to know the families on Delia's team especially.  Miles and I are the ever faithful sideline cheerleaders.  We are proud of our soccer superstars.

Look Ma! No training wheels!

One of our goals for the kids this summer is to have them finally learn how to ride bikes.  After thinking about buying a balance bike for years we finally just took the training wheels and peddles off Isaac and Delia's bikes.  Duh- I don't know why we didn't think of this before!  After about a week and a half of learning to balance Isaac got his peddles back- he basically jumped on his bike and rode off down the street.  It was awesome!  He wants to ride everyday now.  We think Delia should be ready for her peddles soon, too.  This was such a fun "first" for us as parents- way to go Isaac!

Miles wants to get in on the bike riding action, too.  Here he is working on this trike with a trusty wrench...

Watching Pop

Apparently watching Pop mow the yard is fascinating.  This was a rare, chaos-free moment in our house...

Go Broncos!

Doesn't football season seem like a long time ago?  Just trying to catch up all our pictures since January... the kids loved cheering for the Broncos this year.  I think this was taken at the last playoff game- the kids love wearing their orange and blue!
Miles doesn't understand much about football except how to go "TOUCHDOWN!" with his brother and that Tebow means Broncos.  That last part will need some work come August...

Kittens!

In January we went to pick out a new kitten and ended up with two!  This is Mozie-
and his sister Maeve.
They are fun and crazy, and we are pretty crazy to get two more animals but we are all having a good time with them.  Can you tell that the kids absolutely love them?  I think I must say "Leave that cat alone!!"  at least ten times a day.
Mojo has adjusted to sharing the house and the backyard with little kittens.  Despite a scary incident where Mojo tried to bite Mozie's face off (Delia, Miles and I are forever traumatized!), Mozie is still trying to be Mojo's very best friend.  Maeve tries to jump on his back sometimes and take a ride- all our family pets are providing lots of entertainment and joy!

Will return in...

Hey friends!  Wondering if we've ditched the blogosphere?  I've been plagued with computer troubles for months, but thankfully Aunt Susie is on the case.  Hoping to be posting again soon with lots of new pictures and updates soon!

Snow Angels

We got some actual snow last week- not enough to make a snowman so the kids flung themselves in the yard to make snow angels.  I think they would wear their snow pants to bed if I would let them.  They LOVE the snow!

Gingerbread .11

This year's gingerbread creation is a whole village of houses.  I think some of the candy ended up someone's mouth instead of on the houses, but they still turned out awesome.

Isaac Turns 6!

Isaac turned six in November.  We celebrated with two Lego parties, and fun was had by all.  Delia and my younger brother both want Lego parties now!   We are convinced that Isaac is growing entirely too fast- he amazes us every day with new facts and stats about all sorts of interesting things.  It's hard to believe he was our little baby not long ago.  He keeps us in line and keeps us on our toes and is beloved by his little brother and sister.  We love you Isaac- Happy Birthday!!!!

Christmas Prep

We are getting ready for Christmas around here.  It is especially fun now that Miles walking!  He took his first steps this week.  He loved decorating the tree and dancing to Christmas carols...

Turkey Day .11

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year- great food and lots of family.
Our thankful board to remind us to be thankful and to give the kids practice with their writing...
Delia was the only one I could talk into wearing the turkey hats...
Isaac playing Turkey Ball.  After playing it at a friends house the week before Thanksgiving it was all the kids could talk about.  Turned out to be a big hit...
Delia at her first school program!  She was awesome!  We enjoyed delightful songs and then a great meal with fellow preschool families...

Halloween '11

We had a great Halloween this year.  Isaac was a musketeer and an astronaut, Delia was Rapunzel (the pretend frying pan was her own addition to her costume- if you have seen Tangled you'll catch how clever she is!), and Miles was a dinosaur.
We got together at my parents' house with my brother and sister-in-law and their kids.  Isaac and Delia loved trick-or-treating with their cousins (E was the cutest little strawberry ever and J was a firefighter).
We ran out of time to carve pumpkins before trick-or-treating so Delia and Isaac went to town with glitter glue...
