Hawks Fans Are Cool.

3 Games left, at Illinois and home vs. Penn State and Wisconsin. Ohio State is home vs. Michigan, at Northwestern and home vs. Purdue. Not looking good guys. Illinois has shown that they can be beat at home but I am banking on the Hawks losing 2 of the final 3 and finishing in the middle of the pack in the Big Ten. We will get a 8 seed in the Big Dance, lose to NC State and Indiana won't offer Steve Alford the coaching position and we will be stuck with him for another year. The only memorable part of season will be that crazy kid who grabbed Erin Andrews' boob and put it on the internet.

Is anybody else obsessed with the Olympics? Bode Miller is the Steve Alford of skiing. Huge disappointment.

Duke vs. Maryland Tomorrow

One of my friends with season tickets invited me to the Duke vs. Maryland basketball game tomorrow. I know that Duke vs. North Carolina is the biggest rivalry in college basketball but Duke vs. Maryland gets pretty serious. I'm not sure if you guys remember in 2001 when due to horrible officiating Maryland lost to Duke. Well, if you don't remember you may remember Maryland students rioting in the College Park and burning couches in the streets. Maryland fans are all nuts, mainly because they are all white trash but they can't help it. Here are some quotes from a 2005 Washington Post article about Maryland fans:

"They win, they set fires. It makes no sense," a worker in College Park was reported as saying after Maryland's win against Duke.

"Maryland fans are notoriously poor sports when it comes to Duke. Last year, some fans somehow obtained Duke guard J.J. Redick's cellphone number and began passing it around the campus. Soon, Redick was receiving an exorbitant number of calls from Maryland fans, causing him to change his number."

During last year's season, fans took a lot of flak for wearing T-shirts that said "[Expletive] Duke" and shouting so many curses during a game with their much-hated rival that ESPN accidentally broadcast some of the chanting and the obscene T-shirts.

Rodaniel's cousin Daryl sent me a picture of him and his older, and smaller, brother Lew Files from when they were growing up and doing meth with Stephanie Tanner. Who knew that Rodaniel was such a big Knicks fan when he was a kid.

I still have no faith in Hawkeye basketball. Can we win on the road? I picture us dropping 5 of our next 8 and finishing the season 21-10. Will that get us a bid to the tourney? 21 wins will for sure right?

I'm not sure if you guys have looked at the latest issue of GQ magazine but there is an article and pictoral of Terrell Owens and his fiance Felicia Terrell. Felicia is an Iowa grad and was a Gamma Phi Beta with my old girlfriend Joanna . I didn't really know her but definitely recognized her from the pictures.

Turns out she was really close with my buddies' wives, who were also Gamma Phi's and was staying at my buddy Morgan's house in Naperville. He said T.O. came to town and took them out to dinner and out clubbing. They better email me pictures from the wedding so I can put them on the blog. I want a pic of Morgan, T.O. and Drew Rosenhaus.

Big Ben, Not as Cool as Kyle Orton!

A buddy (Larry Graham) of mine emailed me these pics of Big Ben partying his ass off with some dirty birds. Not sure if these are already all over the internet but I wanted to keep up the theme of professional athletes and getting hammered in public. These pics must be pretty recent because Ben has a full beard.

Does anybody else root for the Steelers because they have the same uniforms as the Iowa Hawkeyes? I am not a Steelers fan but I find myself rooting for them because of their uniforms. Is that weird?
