Once the wedding was over, time sure seemed to fly on by. We spent a day in Grants seeing the sights and trying to catch up with busy grandparents. We visited Joe's grave first, and spent some time thinking about him and how important family is.
We were fortunate to spend some time with Great Grandma and Grandpa Martinez. Grandpa was up for a game of Trouble with the kids. It was such a hoot watching the generations play with one another. I think they all had fun.
After sharing the same few stories over and over again, it was time for a picture before we headed out. We hope to continue to see them in such great health!
We spent a couple of days catching up with Grandma Donna, Auntie Claire, and Cousin Hailee. Claire checked into a hotel, and invited us to go swimming. Despite the frigid water, everyone had fun.
Well, we all had fun until Beau did this to Everett. :)
We always have to check out the children's museum...Explora. It's fun every time!
It was such a beautiful day we ate lunch outside at the park, and played for a couple of hours.
Hailee and Eliza became fast friends, and had a lot of fun playing with one another.
Uncle Ed became the favorite uncle. He played with Abi and Everett all over the park. I think he earned the highest status possible when he began playing wizards with sticks.
Once it started getting cold, we headed to our hotel room for some pizza and games. Nothing says "playtime" like Princess Memory. :)
It's always great to spend time with family, and it's always sad to say good-bye. After our few days with family in Albuquerque, it was time to say good-bye to our family in Los Lunas.
Zachary always has to strike some odd pose. He was looking so cute until I wanted to take a picture.
See, everyone is crying. They're so sad. :(
I had to see our newest niece, Kamber, before we headed out of town. She was just a few days old. So precious!
We drove 8 hours from Albuquerque to Oklahoma City to stay the night at Tinker AFB. The next morning we drove 5 hours to stay at The Great Wolf Lodge for Christmas.
We checked in, got our swimsuits on and jumped in the warm water to play for several hours.
After a few hours of playing, it was time to go to our room and relax with some hot chocolate and reading the scripture story of the birth of Jesus. Yes, we were on vacation in a hotel but we weren't going to forget about the real reason of Christmas.
Good morning, and Merry Christmas! Our little felt tree made our hotel rooms feel a little more like home.
After playing in the water again for a few more hours, we dried off and packed up to head to Offutt AFB in Bellevue NE. It was COLD! As we drove the three hours north, I watched the temperature gauge drop steadily from 20 degrees to 10 degrees.
Even though it was cold, dark, and windy, Abi couldn't wait to go play in the snow. She had missed it and wasn't going to waste any time playing! Welcome to Nebraska!
