A Much Needed Update

Sorry it's taken me so long to update my blog. Not a whole lot has happen in the last month. Brock's 2 brothers and their families came out for Thanksgiving! It was so much fun having them all here. Can't wait to get together with them again. Then at the beginning of Dec. the military had a Christmas party for all the families. The kids got to see Santa Claus (oh boy, it was a 15 year old in a fake beard, glad the kids are still young enough that they couldn't tell the difference.) Then we went on a train ride. December has gone by so fast! Christmas is almost here. I can't wait to see our family and friends back in Arizona next week!
NovemberCooking away in the kitchen! Everyone did such an amazing job. The food was SO GOOD!

And here's the group and the big kids table.

After we ate, we went across the street and played at the park. Owen had fun playing football with his dad and uncles. Sorry it's blurry.

Santa Claus!!!

Riding on the choo choo train. The kids had so much fun!

Here is our tree this year. I decided to pull out our ornaments from our first Christmas. For our first Christmas Brock and I had after we were married we didn't have a lot of money to go buy a ton of ornaments for the tree. So we laminated some of Brock's old baseball cards and bought a dozen glass bulbs and with puff paint added red stitching. We then used one of Brock's baseball caps for the tree topper. I think it turned out cute for little $$.

Beach Day

A few weeks ago it was really hot. It had been hot all that week so we thought we would go to the beach on Saturday. Well, Saturday wasn't a hot day. It was overcast and a little bit on the chilly side. Oh well, we all had a lot of fun anyway!!

Spiderman Dance

Owen is really getting into Spiderman, Batman, and Ironman right now. When he says their names they all sound the same. But there is this Spiderman cartoon that Owen likes to watch and every time the opening song comes on he has this dance that he does. He just bobs up and down, and he get so mad at me when I watch him. He tells me to go away when he catches me watching him. It is so funny!

Fall Festival and Trunk-or-Treat

Friday night Marissa's school had a Fall Festival. I am totally lame and forgot to take my camera to the festival. I only have a few pics of them when they got home. They had so much fun playing games and getting their faces painted. Then Saturday night we went to our wards Trunk-or-Treat. It was great! The kids had fun dressing up again. For the Fall Festival Marissa dress up as a witch (pretty obvious) and Owen was a super hero.

Trunk-or-Treat

Now for the Trunk-or-Treat Marissa was a doctor and Owen was a pirate.

The first thing they did when we got there was play in the bounce castle. I wanted them to get a chance before all the big kids got there. They had so much fun!!

Waiting in line for one of the games.

The dumping of the candy!

Here are our spooky pumpkins. Mine and Marissa's is the bat, and Brock and Owen's is the house.

Family Hike

Last Saturday we decided to go on a little family hike. There is a great place that is about 10 minutes from our house. We all had so much fun together. I would love to do that every weekend.

On the trail we went on they had this little hut made that the kids had fun playing in.

Grandma and Grandpa Frost come for a visit

Last weekend Brock's parents came out to visit. We had so much fun with them. We took a tour of the USS Midway, which was amazing. I can't even image living on a ship 24/7 for months on end. Brock's dad served in the Navy back during Vietnam. He was stationed on the USS Constellation. It was fun to hear some of his stories and explain how things worked while we were touring the ship. After the tour we took a boat ride up and down the San Diego coast. That was a lot of fun too. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Frost for a fun weekend! Can't wait til you guys come to visit again!!

This plane was on the USS Constellation. The same ship that my father-in-law served on.

There were a bunch of old planes and helicopters you could climb in and pretend to fly. The kids loved it!

The Boat Tour

The Coronado Bridge

This is the USS Mercy. The hospital ship that Brock is attached to. This ship does a lot of humanitarian missions around the world. He could end up going on the ship the next time it deploys

Checking out some more military ships. Super cool!!!

Student of the Month!!

Marissa was chosen by her teacher to be the Student of the Month. Every Monday morning the school meets for their Flag Assembly to say the Pledge, sing a Patriotic song, and make any announcements. They announced in front of the school all the kids who were chosen for the award. Then after the assembly they took the kids to the teachers lounge and acknowledged them with a certificate and a little treat. Marissa's teacher wrote a little note explaining why she was chosen and it was so sweet. We are so proud of Marissa. She is such an amazing, sweet, fun, and smart little girl. We love you!!Marissa and all the other kids who were chosen for Student of the Month.

We are so proud of you Marissa. Way to go!!!!
