First of all, Happy Anniversary to us! 6 years!
We started out the day around 10:00am, heading to Aunt Jean’s house and then over to the nursing home to meet Granny, the babies Great-Great Grandma. The visit started out well, given that she had no idea who we were, but that was expected. We stayed for a while and then we moved to a room with a piano. I knew right away that wasn’t going to be good…my kids love pianos and love to play them, and unfortunately, this one could not be closed. When I didn’t allow them to play the piano, loudly, they became quite upset, so our visit got cut short.

One might think that this would have been a good photo opportunity to have 5 generations photgraphed together…and we thought the same thing. Unfortunately, but the time we got back from buying flowers for Granny…they were gone.
So, the babies didn’t get a chance to have their picture taken with her.

Just so I’ll remember, when we left to get the flowers, Billy and Christie went into the flower shop, while Chris ( brother in law), and me and the babies stayed in the car. We were in the in-laws Sequoia, which I never drive, way too big for me. So while waiting, William starts pitching a fit, telling me has to go “stinky” right now. Right now. I go inside and of course, there is no bathroom we can use in the flower shop. I trot out and tell Chris he has to take us across the street to Food Lion. Confused, he does as he’s told, and drives across the street. William had decided to take his shoes off, and since this was SUCH an emergency, I grabbed him out, and Emily and proceeded to lug both of them into Food Lion, with Chris in tow, he of course smirking the whole time. We finally track the bathroom down, plop William down and nothing. He fibbed. I wasn’t happy about this, to say the least. Anyway, I digress….
We continue our day’s journey out to cousin Patsy’s farm, she’s 82 and lives alone, she has been widowed for over 40 years. Patsy still cares for her home and her farm by herself, and she was awesome. We picked cotton and watermelons, chased grasshoppers, fed horses…and just enjoyed the country life for a split second. We all agreed, we must go back one day!

Day two ended with dinner at another local place ( don’t as the name), and then back to the hotel for a little night swim. And…icecream!
