He's here!!!

Rigby Snow Young made his arrival on January 26, 2012 at 11:36 am. He came at a whopping 8 lbs 9 oz. and 21 inches long (two weeks before his due date!!!) He is such a sweet boy and we can't get enough of him. He has Dallin's nose, butt chin, hair line, etc. all he got from me so far is his fair skin. He has really big hands and long monkey arms like his dad and skinny chicken legs too!! He looks a little like Reagan to me, but you can tell he is a boy! Big Sister (who isn't so big) is loving having "Bigby" around. She loves to kiss his head and hold him tight. She sticks her hands together and whines until he is put in her arms. She says "shh" when he is sleeping and loves to take his binky and if she is fast enough put it in her own mouth!

Rigby's labor/delivery experience was VERY different from Reagan's (thankfully!!!). Most people know how it went (thanks to facebook, it's pretty easy to update on there when you have an epidural and don't feel pain) but this is for my own memory. My contractions woke me up at 1:30 am on the 26th. They were 5 min. apart but not too uncomfortable so I tried to go back to sleep since this had happened more than once. Around 2:30 the contractions were getting uncomfortable and more like 4 min. apart so I went and layed on the couch so I could be on the internet without the light waking Dallin up. I drank a TON of water to try and stop the contractions (I had a baby shower that night!!!) but it was no use. The contractions just got stronger and stronger and closer together. Around 3 I woke Dallin up and warned him that this might be real, but he just went back to sleep. I wasn't prepared at all if this was the real thing. I quickly packed a bag of stuff for Rigby and got his car seat ready to be put in the car and put a bag together for myself. Around 4:30 the contractions were really bad and I finally called my mom. She came to our house and sat with Reagan until she woke up and Dallin and I headed to the hospital. By the time we left the house I couldn't sit through the contractions I had to sway back and forth and Dallin had to push on my lower back. Luckily we live REALLY close to the hospital because I couldn't sit still in the car for too many contractions. We were taken back to triage and they watched my contractions and checked me. I joked with the nurse that if I hadn't dilated in the last 5 hours from contractions I would be ticked! I had progressed and we waited for a labor and delivery room. By this time I was a 6 and 100% effaced. (At my last OB appointment I was a 4 and 90% effaced. When we finally got a room I told them I was ready for my epidural. By this time I was a 7. (This is about the time I was in a ton of pain and couldn't believe people have babies naturally. I don't know how they do it!!!) The epidural was the BEST!!!! I could move my legs around just fine, but couldn't feel pain! My sister Kimberley came to the hospital and waited with Dallin and I until it was time to start pushing. I was so glad Kim was able to be there with us!!!!! After 45 min. of pushing (which is WAY better than the 4 1/2 I pushed with Reagan) the nurse told me to stop pushing and we waited 15 min. for the Doctor to get there. Two pushes later and Rigby made his appearance. The cord was around his neck, but the doctor was able to pull it off before he delivered his shoulders. After that he cried and they put him on my chest. He stopped crying and just looked at me with his big eyes!! I am so grateful everything went as smoothly as it did and am so grateful for Dallin and Kim for their help and encouragement! We sure Love this sweet boy and are so glad he is a part of our family!

We have had a really fun summer so far. We have gone to the cabin in Pinetop a few times (Dallin more than Reagan and I) and love visiting Grandma and Grandpa Hatch. We love spending time with them and enjoying the nice weather. Dallin is busy working on our cabin and loves learning new skills and about the process of building. He is getting ready to frame soon and is so excited to see some upward progress!!!
Reagan is such a happy baby! She sleeps 12 hours at night and still takes 2 two to two and a half hour naps during the day. She loves when I work and she gets to hang out with her Grandma! I am second best when Grandma is around! Reagan has been such a good eater lately and LOVES her veggies, she has started liking fruit, but veggies are definitely her fav. just like her mama!

What do you get when you feed a tired baby sweet potatoes?????? An umpa lumpa look alike!!!! She sticks her fingers in her mouth a lot while she eats and she always rubs her eyes when she is tired, so if you mix the two this is what you get.......

***note to self if you bath a tired baby she will not be tired after wards because she had so much fun splashing and getting mom wet too!

Reagan LOVES her dad. I know all kids love their dads, but it still kills me that all Dallin has to do is walk in a room and she goes NUTS! she smiles from ear to ear and giggles like CRAZY!!! She thinks wrestling with him on the ground is the best thing ever! I love that while I am at work I know they are having so much fun without me! Every morning when Reagan wakes up she grabs my phone and we facetime with Dallin, it is by far the best part of our morning she laughs and waves and says "Hi Dad" the whole time!!!! yes she can say hi dad and dada is her favorite word ever!!! She only says mama when she cries so lets not talk about that!!

We had a great 4th of July! Kimberley and Dayne and Nixon and Jaxon were here for a visit and we had a great party! We had a BBQ and went swimming. The food was delicious and it is always fun to hang out with our family! Thanks for the cute outfit Grandma Karen!

While Kim and the boys were here we went to Ikea one day and had so much fun! Reagan is OBSESSED with tags and when I saw this snake with 4 tags on it I knew she had to have it! She was chewing on that thing the whole time we were there!!! It was definitely the best 50 cents I have ever spent!

We also went shopping a few other times while they were here, but these two loved Costco and Sam's Club the best because they got to sit next to each other in the same cart. Even though there is 3 months difference in their ages there is only 1 pound separating them (yes my daughter is a chunk!!!) We got stopped so many times with people asking if they were twins!!! It was pretty funny. Reagan thought it was hilarious to steal Jaxon's binky......
Jaxon didn't think it was too funny though!!!We loved having them here for two weeks! It was so fun to see Jaxon and Reagan crawling around together and having fun! We wished they lived here, but that just means we need to get to Utah more often to visit them! We miss them when they aren't here!


Last Friday all of the siblings on Dallin's side of the family that live here went with his parents to a Diamond backs game for his mom's birthday. We had so much fun and even though it was past her bedtime, Reagan was so good and had such a good time. She spotted several birds in the arena and loved to watch them fly around. Everyone took a turn holding her and getting kisses which she loves to give now! She sure loves her aunts and uncles! Happy Birthday Grandma Young!
And in other EXCITING news....... Reagan is going to be a BIG SISTER! We are so excited and can't wait to have another baby in our family! We feel so blessed and can't wait for February 8th 2012 to come! We find out in another month if it is a boy or girl and are excited for that too!

Reagan was too funny this morning! Well, it wasn't too funny when she woke up at 4:45 and wanted to eat.... (that is the second time she has done that this week, I don't know what is wrong with her, must be growing.) But after an hour of trying to get her back to sleep, I decided we would just start the day. So Dallin watched her while he was getting ready for work while I made a yummy breakfast! It was fun to get to sit down and eat together before Dallin had to go to work so I guess getting up that early has its perks. While Dallin and I ate we put Reagan in her bumbo on the table so she could watch us and we could talk to her as we ate. Isn't she soooo cute!Oh I just LOVE her! Well after we ate Dallin left for work and I did the dishes while Reagan sat in her bumbo and talked to me. She started getting a little fussy, but I had one more pan to wash so I just stuck her binky in her mouth and went to finish. Well I turned around for like one second and realized that she was so quiet so I turned around to see why and this is what I found......She was so tired so I let her sleep like that for another 2 minutes while I finished cleaning up the kitchen.
She is just too cute I can't stand it!

Last week was Dallin's Birthday. We went out to eat a couple of times and ate on Sunday at my Parents house and had pie for Dallin's Birthday. He got an I-Pad and is in love. I am so grateful for Dallin! He is such a hard worker and helps so much around the house and with Reagan especially now that I am back at work! I hope he had a great birthday because he deserves it!
And I just love this picture so I want to post it. On days that I have to work for the first time that week I just take a couple hour nap so I can last all night so sometimes I take Reagan out to Dallin's shop so he can watch her while I sleep and that is when this picture was taken. Reagan sure loves to hang out with her Daddy!

3 months

On December 26th Reagan was blessed. The blessing was so sweet! Dallin really loves his little girl! My mom bought Reagan's dress and I made her bow (with a little help from my SIL Becky). Reagan didn't make a peep through the whole blessing even though they almost DROPPED her! Dallin claims that Reagan was startled and jumped, but luckily there were a lot of arms around her to catch her! Thanks Uncle Josh!!!




We were so grateful that so many of our family members were able to be there to celebrate with us on this special day!

A few weeks later Dallin was going out of town for a camp out and I am a BIG baby and can't sleep at my house by myself. I usually just sleep at my parents house, but they had a trip planned to go to Disneyland with Josh Becky and the girls and Kim and Dayne and their boys. So Reagan and I went along for the ride. We ended up having a really fun time! Reagan did a lot better than I expected her to. On the ride there she slept most of the way because it was night time. She did cry a lot in the car on our drive to Disneyland every day though. She doesn't like her car seat very much. On the way home she cried for a little too, but I was expecting worse, so I was surprised.
We spent three days between California Adventure and Disneyland. The weather was perfect and it was fun to see Nixon Adilee and Paislee have so much fun and be so excited to be at Disneyland. It was also good to spend time with Kim and Dayne who we don't see as often and it is always fun to hang out with Mom and Dad and Josh and Becky. Everyone was so helpful with Reagan and even watched her so that I could go on some rides. Becky did quite a few times due to the fact that she is pregnant (with a baby BOY!!!!).

Reagan got to meet FIESTA Minnie. The lines were a lot shorter and we thought Uncle Jake in Mexico would like to see pictures of Fiesta Minnie and Mickey!I went back to work the week after we got home from Disneyland. So Dallin has been watching Reagan while I am at work. Our Schedule was a little rocky at first, but it is working out a lot better now. I work nights so Dallin gets her ready for bed and puts her down and since she sleeps through the night (8 hours!!!! but 10 hours the past couple of nights) so he is still able to get up and go to work the next day. He drops Reagan off at my mom's house and I go there after work and sleep while she watches her for a few hours. My mom is the best! She takes such good care of Reagan. We are so grateful for her willingness to help us watch her so that I can work. We just hope that Reagan isn't too much trouble for her!

This is what happens when Dallin turns on the TV at night. He falls asleep and Reagan is in Heaven (she loves to watch TV)!!!

Reagan is now Three months old! We can't believe it! She is getting sooo big! She smiles like crazy all the time now. She giggles and loves to stick her tongue out. She loves to have her diaper changed and loves her bumbo. She still only takes short (about an hour at a time) naps, but she sleeps through the night. She is usually a very happy baby, but mylicon drops are a lifesaver when she isn't. We feel so grateful to have Reagan in our family. She is such a big blessing and has brought us so much joy!

I have loved being a Mom these past {almost} 6 weeks. I love holding her and rocking her. I love singing to her and watching her smile. I LOVE to dress her up, but I wish she would let me put bows on her more often without her crying!! haha I think we are finally figuring out a good schedule for eating/ staying awake/ and sleeping. I have been using Baby Wise {sort of} and love it. Well some of the things I don't necessarily do, like I occasionally rock her to sleep and sometimes she accidentally falls asleep in the car with her binky. For the most part I really like the suggestions in the book and have a very happy baby because of it. She has even slept through the night twice this week and once the week before. We are hoping that these past two nights are going to be repeated a lot in the weeks to come!

This picture was during tummy time. I don't think babies are supposed to like tummy time as much as Reagan does. She falls asleep every time!!! She is never going to learn to roll over, because she doesn't move the whole time just lays there and eventually falls asleep!
